Louis Horace Myrick

He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Sheila Bryant Myrick; his sons, Doug (Terri) Myrick and Alvin (Jan) Myrick and his daughter, Sharon (Ricky) McCrory. He is also survived by grandchildren, Tiffany (Mike) Settle, Regina Lashley, Monica (Ryan) Scully, Robert (Brittany) Myrick, Brandon (Gina) McCrory, and Shane (Miranda) McCrory. He leaves 10 great-grand children to cherish his memory.
Being the oldest child, Horace was adored by his surviving siblings – Virgil (Jane) Myrick, Verne Myrick, Wayne (Eleanor) Myrick, Ronnie (Hilda) Myrick, Veneta (Bruce) Wentz and Vicki (Troy) McCurdy – and including numerous nieces and nephews and their families.
Horace graduated in 1956 from J.M. Tate High School. He went on to retire from Armstrong World Industries as a fabrication supervisor with 40 years of service. He was an Alabama “Roll Tide” fan and he spent his retirement years enjoying his family and spoiling the great-grandchildren with camping and fishing trips. A family “fish fry” was a recurrent event – kick ball games played, jokes told, tales repeated – but more importantly, the love of family and friends being embedded in all the lives he touched.

Visitation will be held at Bellview Church of Christ onSaufley Field Road in Pensacola on Friday, August 29th, from 10 a.m. until noon with funeral services beginning at noon. Interment immediately following service at Pensacola Memorial Gardens. Reception/fellowship to follow at the church.
Howard Allen Mason

Howard Allen Mason, age 87, a native of Walnut Hill and a resident of Molino, passed away, Friday, August 22, 2014.
Howard retired as Wood Yard Superintendent from St. Regis Paper Company, Kraft Division, after 38 years of service. Over the years, Howard was involved throughout Escambia County with various youth baseball organizations. He was well respected within the local baseball community. Howard spent countless hours supporting and traveling with the Country Cloggers. “Heaven has gained a wonderful coordinator and trip organizer”. Over the years we have heard many kind words about our dad. From many people, as well as within his own family, we’ve been told that our dad was “one of a kind”. He was friendly and kind to everyone he met and well respected for his morals and values.
Howard was preceded in death by his parents, Vernon and Eva Strickland Mason; and his beloved daughter, Roxanne Griffith.
Howard is survived by his loving wife of 70 years, Valerie; two sons, Bobby (Eddiemae), and Roger (Susie); grandchildren, Rob Mason, Greg Mason, Julie Swank, Amy Mason, Matt Lee, and Mandie Presley; great-grandchildren, Austin, Kylie, Tori, Matthew, Ryan, Brooklyn, Brittany, Cortney, Shane, Janey, Haley, Mallory and Mason; brothers, Larue, Ellis (Billie Jean), Jerry (Betty); and sisters, Annie Joyce Holt and Verna Scott (Clayton).
The family extends a special thank you to Emerald Coast Hospice, with special gratitude to Brenda, Shari, Megan, and Jason. Howard also wanted to extend a thank you to all his doctors, Dr. Judson, Dr. T Williams, Dr. S Clements, Jr., Dr. J Luetkemeyer, Dr. S Patel, Dr. R Riche, Dr. F Greskovich, Dr. J Lurton, Dr. R Sellers, and Dr. C Chapleau. He also thanks those at Baptist Hospital that helped with the care he received these past few years. Special thanks to the Infusion Center, which became his second home for a while.
Visitation will be held at Faith Chapel North on Tuesday, August 26, 2014, from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m.
Funeral Services will be held at Walnut Hill Baptist Church, Wednesday, August 27, 2014, at 10 a.m.
Pallbearers will be grandsons.

Infant, Vivian Marie Gonzalez, born August 20, 2014, died on August 20, 2014, in Bay Minette.
Vivian Marie Gonzalez was a native of Atmore.
Survivors include her father, Baleriano Gonzalez III of Atmore; mother, Nilah Rutledge of Atmore; grandparents, Viviana Gonzalez and Baleriano Gonzalez, Jr., both of Atmore, and Esmer Vela and Ernest Rutledge, both of Texas; and one sister, of Raziya Gonzalez of Atmore.
Graveside services were Saturday, August 23, 2014, at the McCullough Cemetery with Rev. Ray Ward officiating.

Robert Charles Graves, Jr.

Mr. Robert Charles Graves, Jr., age 41, passed away Wednesday, August 20, 2014, at his Brewton residence.
Mr. Graves was a lifelong resident of the Brewton area. He was a farmer by trade and was of the Baptist faith. Mr. Graves was preceded in death by his father, Mr. Robert Charles Graves, Sr.
He is survived by his mother, Mrs. Irene Moye Graves of Brewton; son, Wesley Dale Graves of Pace; three daughters, Alex Wilson of Pensacola, Sydney Bell and Taylor Graves, both of Flomaton; one brother, Daryl Vincent “Buck” (Tonya) Graves of Brewton; and one sister, Julia Irene (Earnie) Downing of Brewton.
Funeral services were held Sunday, August 24, 2014, from the chapel of Craver’s Funeral Home with Rev. Tony Richburg officiating.
Interment was in Beulah Cemetery.
Elsie Lou Ellen Stanford Cain

Mrs. Elsie Lou Ellen Stanford Cain, age 73, of McGougin Road in Brewton, passed away Saturday, August 23, 2014, in a local nursing facility after an extended illness. Mrs. Cain was a native of Repton and former resident of East Brewton before moving to Brewton in 1980. She was a retired CNA with D.W. McMillan Memorial Hospital after 39 and a half years of service and was a member of the Appleton Free Will Baptist Church.
Survivors include two sons, David (Carla) Cain of Milton and Donald (Linda) Cain of East Brewton; one daughter, Kathy (Lavon) Minuard of Castleberry; four brothers, Buddy (Melba) Stanford of Lenox, Floyd (Janie) Stanford of Lenox, Stevie Stanford of Saraland, and Doug Stanford of Lenox; three sisters, Voncile Thomas of Lenox, Idell (Bob) Richerson of Lenox, Debra (Buddy) Lee of Century; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren and numerous other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held Monday, August 25, 2014, from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Craver’s Funeral Home.
Funeral services for Mrs. Elsie Lou Ellen Stanford Cain will be held Tuesday, August 26, 2014, at 10 a.m. at Craver’s Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Andy Peavy officiating.
Interment will follow in Ramah Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery in Lenox.

Willie Franklin “Frank” Wolfe

Willie Franklin “Frank” Wolfe, 90, of Jay, had a restful night’s sleep at home, and early morning, August, 21, 2014, entered peacefully into eternal rest with his Lord Jesus Christ.
He was a lifelong resident of Jay, attended Jay High School, worked many different jobs, and retired as a plumber of 26 years from Santa Rosa County School Board Maintenance Department. He was a child of the Great Depression and developed a work ethic to be admired. He was also a U.S. Army Veteran. He was an outdoorsman admiring nature, fishing, and mowing grass. He was a member of the True Worship Church and thanked the Lord every day for his blessings. He was especially excited about his 90th birthday, so we counted down the days with him. He enjoyed his party with family and friends. Dad, we’re proud for you; you made it.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 67 years, Glennis Jones Wolfe; parents Willie Heines and Clara Belle Brown Wolfe; stepmother, Mattie White Wolfe; and brothers, Clifford and B.C. Wolfe.
He is survived by his daughter, Paulette (Buddy) Bradley; son, Jim (Lisa) Wolfe; grandchildren, Paul (Jennifer) Bradley, Patrice (Bryan) Poole, Shaena (Ken) Reeves, Riana Wolfe and Kelli Cook; great-grandchildren, Dalton, Dylan, Cristian, Cloe, Kendal, Kole, and Brantley; sister, Dorothy Diamond; and uncle, Joe Brown.
Funeral services were held at Jay Funeral Home Sunday, August 24, 2014, with Reverend Adam Peterson and Chris Hendrix officiating.
Interment was at Jay Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Jimmy White, Jerry Floyd, Jackie Diamond, Palace Brown, Lonnie Williams, Paul Bradley and Tom Garrett.
Daddy, your smile, quick wit, appreciation of life and “Franklin sayisms” will be missed.
Special thanks to faithful caregivers Gary Gibson, Karen Lindsey, Margaret Hughes and neighbor Patty McGraw. It will always be remembered.
Robert Andrew (Andy) Amerson

Andy Amerson went to meet with his Lord and Savior on Tuesday, August 19, 2014.
He began his journey on September 21, 1961, grew up in Bratt, and graduated from Ernest Ward High School in 1979. After graduation, Andy joined the United States Air Force and served for 20 years, with dedication to his God, country and family. His military assignments included Shaw AFB, SC; Hill AFB, UT; MacDill AFB, FL; Singapore; Charleston AFB, SC; Kunsan AB; Korea, and Eglin AFB, FL. During his military service, he was recognized as a true leader and supervisor; served with distinction in many responsible positions and epitomized the best the Air Force had to offer.
Upon his retirement as a Master Sergeant in September 1999, he realized his dream to return to the place where he grew up, Bratt, where he continued his work as an aircraft electrician. Andy is known best for his passion for life and spirited personality. He is described by many as a lifelong friend, always laughing through life, patriotic, generous, never meeting a stranger, always smiling and with a hug for everyone. He was an avid hunter, fisherman, and NASCAR fan. He was very active at the First Baptist Church of Bratt as the audio/visual coordinator and choir member.
Whatever Andy was passionate about, he gave it his heart and soul, making a lasting impression on everyone he encountered and affecting their hearts and lives like no other, without even realizing it.
He is survived by two children, Robert Andrew (Drew) Amerson II with wife Tiffany of Bratt and Christina (Chrissy) Olliney with husband Derek of Minot, North Dakota; his parents, James and Betty Amerson of Bratt; two brothers, Rick Amerson with wife Susan and Gary Amerson with wife Kayleen, both of Bratt; one grandchild; five nieces and nephews and many close friends.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, August 22, 2014, at First Baptist Church of Bratt, with burial to follow in Godwin Cemetery.
Family will receive friends preceding the funeral from 9 a.m. until 11 a.m. at the church.
Pallbearers will be Rick Amerson, Gary Amerson, Steve Hanks, David Amerson, Chris Amerson, and Brian Amerson.

Mr. Royce Allen Pierce, 59, passed away on Sunday, August 17, 2014, in Atmore.
Mr. Pierce was a native and lifelong resident of Walnut Hill. He was retired from the Escambia County Alabama Road Department. He was a loving father and papa. His sister, Donna Beske, precedes him in death.
He is survived by his companion, Wanda Marshall of Stanley Crossroads; one son, Rick (Brandy) Pierce of Walnut Hill; two daughters, Heather (Alan) McDearmond of Eva, AL and Lacy (Jason) Bryars of Elberta, AL; two brothers, Jim Pierce and John Pierce both of Winter Haven, FL; 10 grandchildren, Austin, Ali, Jaysa, Fischer, Hunter, Royce, Autumn, Olivia, Luke and Autumn W.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, August 20, 2014, at 10 a.m. at the Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home with Rev. Ted Bridges officiating.
Burial will follow at the Walnut Hill Baptist Cemetery.
Visitation will be Tuesday, August 19, 2014, from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. at the Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home.

Mr. James E. (Buddy) Robinson

Mr. James E. (Buddy) Robinson, age 95, of Atmore, passed away Tuesday, August 5, 2014.
He was born in Repton, AL, to the late Ernest N. and Margaret Straughn Robinson. He was a Coast Guard/Navy veteran of WWII and was a devoted member of St. Robert Bellarmine
Catholic Church. He co-owned Atmore Recap Shop for 32 years with his brother Babe.
During his lifetime, he donated over 10 gallons of blood to The American Red Cross, was a past commander of the American Legion, and an avid community volunteer and leader.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 64 years, Linda Pavonne Robinson, his parents and two siblings, Henderson Robinson, and Edward “Babe” Robinson.
Mr. Robinson is survived by four children, Margaret (the late Keith) Russell of Orange Beach, Sherry (Mike) Roberts of Atlanta, Kathy (Gary) Heacock of Talladega, and Karl (Alison) Robinson of Atmore; 12 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
The family held a private memorial on August 8th.
Donations may be made to the Atmore Chapter of The American Red Cross, American Legion (Atmore Post), or St. Robert Bellarmine Catholic Church.
Richard Hardy Rhyne

Richard Hardy Rhyne went to meet with his Lord and Savior on Thursday, August 14, 2014.
He began his journey on November 5, 1937, in Bonifay, born to Hardy and Evelyn Rhyne. He later moved to Ft. Walton Beach, where he attended Choctawhatchee High School and received the football “Top Player of the Year” award in 1956 and graduated in 1957.
Richard served in the United States Army as a paratrooper for six years, and was dedicated to his God and Country.
Richard began a dedicated career as a Florida Highwaypatrolman in 1962. He moved to Pensacola in the early 60’s serving Northwest Florida, where he was honored with awards such as the Gordon Smith Award for Outstanding State Trooper in 1974, and State Trooper of the Year twice, as well as many other accomplishments and awards. He served as a homicide investigator for many years, and retired as a sergeant in June 2001 with 39 years and four months service.
Richard is known best for his passion for life and spirited personality. He is described by many as a lifelong friend, always dancing through life, generous, never meeting a stranger, always smiling and laughing with a hug for everyone. He was a great story teller, avid hunter, fisherman, boater, and still loved to jet ski at the age of 76. He coached his sons in little league football for the Brent Raiders and had been a member of the Grand Lagoon Yacht Club for many years. No matter what Richard was passionate about, he gave it his heart and soul, making a lasting impression on everyone he encountered and affecting their hearts and lives like no other, without even realizing it.
He is survived by his love of 12 years, Sandra “Kaye” Enterkin; two sons, Richard “Tim” (Marcella) Rhyne and Randall A. Rhyne (Nancy Balk) both of Pensacola; one stepdaughter, Dana (Ken) Whitton of Mobile; nine grandchildren, Brandon (Jenna) Rhyne of Pensacola, Whitney Rhyne (Cody Bunten) of Summerdale, Peyton and Bailey Rhyne of Pensacola; Brian, Deven, Nathan, Ayden and Brendalyn Whitton of Mobile; two great granddaughters; three brothers, Gordon (Vickie) Rhyne, Mark (Connie) Rhyne, and Glen (Pam) Rhyne; one sister, Judy (George) Vilardi and many nieces, nephews and close friends.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, August 22, 2014, at Faith Chapel Funeral Home North with Bro. Chris Hendrix, officiating. Burial to follow in Barrancas National Cemetery.
Family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 21, 2014, at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be David Karasek, Dewayne Williamson, Marque Hendrix, Nick Carter, Ray Danielson and Ray Dykes.
