Reverend Andrew L. Blankenship

Rev. Andrew L. Blankenship, 86, of Pensacola, joined the Celebration in Heaven on Tuesday, June 17, 2014. He was born on July 8, 1927, in Repton, AL, to the late Lehman Blankenship and Elizabeth Hancock Blankenship.
Rev. Blankenship started the Pensacola Deliverance Temple over 60 years ago, but had started preaching the gospel over 70 years ago. He preached his last sermon here on earth on June 8, 2014. He brought thousands of people to Christ. Oh, what a crown full of jewels he has received.
Rev. Blankenship is survived by his daughter, Wanda Larocque; two granddaughters, Angela Petty and Krystal Hardy; grandson, Rocky ( Kally) Casey; great-grandchildren, Carson, Brookly, Skyler, Kaleb, McKenzie, MaKailyn, Chloe, Mejia, Maegan, Josh and Abbie; and one great-great-grandchild, Connor.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday, June 23, 2014, at Faith Chapel Funeral Home North with Rev. Helen McBride, officiating.
Burial will follow in Pensacola Memorial Gardens.

Charles Frankie Maguire

Charles Frankie Maguire, 69 of Atmore, passed away on Tuesday, June 17, 2014, in Mobile. He was a retired corrections officer with Holman Prison. He was born on May 29, 1945, in Carlinville, Illinois to the late Glen and Mae Wyzard Maguire. He was of Baptist faith. He is preceded in death by one brother, Howard Maguire; and two sisters, Melba Maguire and Betty Smith.
Survivors include his wife, Susan Respress Maguire of Atmore; one son, Chuck Maguire of Las Vegas, NV; one brother, Carl Maguire; and one sister, Barbara (Dave) Cox, both of Illinois and his best friend, Scooter.
Services were held Thursday, June 19, 2014, at Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home Chapel with Mr. Lawrence Stoker officiating.
Interment was in Oak Hill Cemetery.
Active pallbearers were Assistant Fire Chief Ronald Peebles, Captain Lewis English, fire fighters Eugene, Daniel, Jessie, and Ethan, all of Atmore Fire and Rescue.
Honorary pallbearers were Joe Raines, Dean Boyte and James Womack.
Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home is in charge of all arrangements.
Cynthia “Cindy” Lynn Teuber-Smith

Cynthia “Cindy” Lynn Teuber-Smith, 59, of Pensacola, passed away on June 17, 2014. She was born in Chicago, Illinois to Calvin E. and Marilyn E. Teuber. Growing up in Warrenville, IL, she enjoyed the outdoors and graduated from Wheaton Central High School in 1973. She later became part-owner of a chimney sweep company and worked in retail and manufacturing. In the early days of computers, she was the office coordinator for a computer rental company, as well as a floral arranger for Phillips Florist in Downers Grove, IL.
In 1992 Richard and Cindy had Adam J. Smith. Over the years since, Cindy enjoyed gardening, homemaking, and working as The Crafty Lady. She designed her own line of Couch Cats by Cindy Smith, jewelry, and other cloth items. Cindy was an early member of the Palafox Market Vendors and had many friends in the arts and crafts community of Pensacola. She loved attending Gallery Night and the many festivals and events in the Pensacola area. Her favorite places were her garden, the yard, and the local beaches.
Cindy is preceded in death by her parents, Calvin and Lyn Teuber.
She is survived by her husband, Richard E. Smith II; son, Adam J. Smith; sister, Valerie (Teuber) Bruce of Naperville, IL; two nephews, Michael and Peter Bruce; and her beloved cat, Sprite.
A visitation for friends and family was held Saturday, June 21, 2014 at Trahan Family Funeral Home Chapel.
Nancy Louise Emmons

Mrs. Nancy Louise Emmons, age 81 of Brewton, passed away Thursday, June 19, 2014. She was a native of Bay Minette but had lived most of her life in Brewton. Mrs. Emmons was a member of Brewton First Baptist Church. She was a loving mother and grandmother and will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
Mrs. Emmons was preceded in death by her parents, John L. Brown and Susie Stewart Brown; her husband, Floyd Emmons; one daughter, Cathy Emmons Reese; two grandsons, Marcus Simmons and Trenton Simmons; two brothers, Buford Brown and Clyde Brown; and two sisters, Helen Parker and Lois Sims.
She is survived by one son, George “Jerry” Emmons of Jay; four daughters, Linda (Ray) Simmons, Glenda (Kenneth) James, Elaine (Steve) Lisenby all of Brewton and Nelda (Dennis) Burkett of Foley; 16 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 28, 2014, at 4 p.m. at Craver’s Funeral Home with the Rev. Jack Fitts officiating.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The American Cancer Society.

Mr. Earl Glenn Knowles, 67, passed away on Saturday, June 21, 2014, in Pensacola.
Mr. Knowles was a native of Range, Alabama, former resident of Flomaton, and a resident of Atmore for the past 22 years. Mr. Knowles received degrees from Winthrop University in Accounting and Engineering and attended Bible College. He was a devoted husband of almost 23 years. He was a very loving father, grandfather, brother and uncle.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Earl and Gladys Knowles and grandson, Ethan Warden.
He is survived by is wife, Hattie Sells Knowles of Atmore; three sons, Damon Rolin, Eric (Kim) Rolin and Waylon (Valerie) Rolin all of Atmore; two daughters, Janet Welch (Tommy Ashcraft) of Atmore and Julianne (Donnie) Wilson of Rockhill, NC; two brothers, Gary Knowles and Terry Knowles, both of Flomaton; one sister, Cheryl Conner of Semmes, AL; seven grandchildren, Whitney Warden, Coty (Brooke) Rolin, Brandon Wilson, Benjamin Wilson, Austin Wilson, Dillon Rolin and Brady Rolin; five great-grandchildren, Kaiden & Kylin Marshall, Halyn Warden, Zhoie Rolin and Zanie Rolin.
Funeral services will be Tuesday, June 24, 2014, at 10 a.m. at the Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home with Rev. Cornelius Phillips officiating.
Burial will follow at the New Home Cemetery.

Raymond Brenson Silcox, Sr.

Raymond Brenson Silcox, Sr., known by friends and family as Buddy, passed away on Monday, June 16, 2014.
Buddy retired from the United States Air Force after 20 years of service and was currently working at A-1 Small Engines at his time of passing.
He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Pam Silcox; two sons, Raymond Brenson (Jennifer L.) Silcox and Brandon S. Silcox; four grandchildren, Trey, Brenson, Riley and
Shayla; two sisters, Doris Miller and Brenda McDaniel; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will begin at 11 a.m. on Saturday, June 21, 2014, at Faith Chapel Funeral Home North with Bro. Brian Calhoun officiating. Burial will follow in Bayview Memorial Park Cemetery.
Family will receive friends from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Friday, June 20, 2014 at Faith Chapel Funeral Home North.

Mary Marjorie Frazier Ellis

Mary Marjorie Frazier Ellis 77, of Fidelis, died on Tuesday, June 17, 2014, at home with her family by her side. She was born on March 26, 1937, in Brewton to Gene and Cora Frazier. She was married to Willie Green Ellis on January 23, 1953, and moved to the Fidelis community where she became a lifelong resident of Santa Rosa County. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister. She was an outstanding cook and professional cake decorator. She enjoyed family vacations, spending holidays with family and friends, reading, sewing, and teaching the word of God. She was a member, teacher and the women’s leader at the Community of Christ Church in Berrydale for over 50 years. She always put God and family first, as they were the two most important things in her life. We will all miss her dearly, but her memories will live on forever and ever until we reunite with her in heaven.
She was preceded in death by her father, Gene Frazier; mother, Cora Frazier; sisters, Lucille Cook, Mildred Sproule, Anne Mae Harden; and brother, Howard Frazier.
She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Willie Green Ellis of Fidelis; three sons, Ricky (Sherry, also like a daughter) of Fidelis, Randy (Teresa) of Berrydale, Terry (Linda) of Milton; one daughter, Jenny (Rick) Lowery of Jay; one sister, Ann (Elmo) Fillingim of Cantonment; one brother, Gene (Sara) Frazier of Brewton; and 10 grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews and a special family friend, Jane Berry.
Funeral services will be Saturday, June 21, 2014, at Jay Funeral Home. Visitation will be held from 1 p.m. until 3 p.m. followed by the service.
Burial will be held at the Community of Christ Church Cemetery in Berrydale with Jay Funeral Home directing.
Active pallbearers will be Jeremy Ellis, Jared Ellis, Bryan Ellis, Ryan Ellis, Brandon Ellis and Brad Lowery.

Louis Jennings Crabtree, Sr.

Mr. Louis Jennings Crabtree Sr., age 70, passed away peacefully at his home in Barrineau Park on Friday, June 13, 2014. He was born in Atmore, grew up in Barrineau Park and was one of seven boys. He was drafted and served in the United States Army 82nd Airborne Division during the Vietnam War and later began his career in Louisiana working offshore in the oil and gas industry. He moved to Casper, Wyoming in 1978 and later to Evanston, Wyoming. He spent the next 25 years working in the oilfields of Wyoming and the surrounding area. He moved back to his family home in Barrineau Park in 2003 after he and his brothers sold their family business.
Mr. Crabtree is preceded in death by his parents, Ollie Jennings Crabtree and Anna Catherine Dagen Crabtree; and brothers, Ollie Don Crabtree and Thomas Mathew Crabtree.
He is survived by his daughters, Darlene (Andy) Miller of San Antonio, TX, Angie (Doug) Crabtree-Dockstader of San Diego, CA; sons, Louis (Layna) Crabtree Jr. of Barrineau Park, Thomas (Katie) Crabtree of Roswell, GA; six grandchildren, Jerni, Jayda, Louis III, Sophia, Bella and Thomas Jr.; and four brothers, Huey, Clay, Walter, and Monte.
Funeral services will be held Friday, June 20, 2014, at 10:30 a.m. at Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home.
Burial will follow at Little Pine Barren Cemetery.
Visitation for family and friends will be held Thursday, June 19, 2014, from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home.

Betty Joe Sanspree Donaldson

Mrs. Betty Joe Sanspree Donaldson, 74, passed away on Sunday, June 15, 2014, in Pensacola.
Mrs. Donaldson was a native of Wawbeek, and a resident of Atmore for most of her life. Mrs. Donaldson attended the Sardis Baptist Church. Her husband, Odell Donaldson; parents, Hosea and Annie Sanspree; four brothers, Billy Sanspree, Alfred Bo Sanspree, Cecil Sanspree and Harrison Sanspree; and one sister, Annie Ruth Ray precede her in death.
She is survived by her daughter, Randi Donaldson of Atmore; brother, George Sanspree of Cantonment; two grandchildren, Stephanie Angel Purvis and Dalton Beeman Purvis both of Mobile; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be Thursday, June 19, 2014, at 10 a.m. at the Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home with Rev. Earle Greene officiating.
Burial will follow at the Serenity Gardens Cemetery.
Visitation will be held Thursday, June 19, 2014 from 9 a.m. until service time at the Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home.

Dennis Wilson

Dennis Wilson was born April 16, 1940, and passed away June 15, 2014.
Dennis was born in Chattanooga, TN, asthe only child of James and Bettye Wilson. He accepted Jesus on Mother’s Day 1954 and entered glory on Father’s Day 2014. He grew up in Rossville, GA, and moved to Pensacola in 1960. He was a tireless and dedicated employee of Monsanto/AES/Solutia for over 45 years. Upon his retirement from the plant, he returned to “work” as a labor of love for his church, Olive Baptist, serving in various capacities including construction supervisor for the remodel of the Charis House and Passmore Hall and concluding as Director of Community Outreach.
He was preceded in death by his parents, aunts Janice Williams and Joyce Watts, uncle Donald Yankey, granny Lula Mae Yankey and grandsons Preston Hunter and Brian Heath Wilson and Asher Graham Currey.
Dennis leaves behind his “tribe”: wife Nancy; children: Brian (Glenda) Wilson, Beth (David) Dunlap, Kevin (Christine) Wilson, Rachael (Steve) Croley, Leah (Dick) Currey, Jill (Justin) Manny, spiritually adopted Sandi (Clinton) Guice, and 17 grandchildren.
Big “D” was a larger than life bondservant of Christ who never failed to provide an encouraging word or hesitate to pray on someone’s behalf. He boldly proclaimed the Gospel from post-communist Romania to the slums of Brazil to the homeless camps of Pensacola. He touched countless souls with his teaching of the Word, seeking questions and unparalleled humor. He was known as an unashamed man of faith, family and friends. He leaves behind an extraordinary legacy for generations to come.
Pallbearers will be his sons and sons-in-law. Flowers will be accepted as will donations to Olive Ministry Village and Covenant Hospice, Milton.
Funeral services provided by Faith Chapel, North. Visitation will be Thursday 6-8 p.m. at Olive Baptist, service Friday at 11 a.m. at Olive Baptist and graveside following at Magnolia Cemetery, Evergreen, Al.
