Jimmy Vickery

Jimmy Vickery of Montgomery, passed away November 4, 2014, in Montgomery. He was born on May 17, 1943, to the late Orval “Doc” Vickery and Alma Hicks Vickery Chason in Atmore. He was a U.S. Army Veteran and served during Vietnam. He had worked for Fountain Correctional Facility in Atmore and theYellow Cab Company in Montgomery. He was a member of the Fountain of Grace Church in Prattville.
He is survived by his three brothers Glennon (Nancy) Vickery of Daphne; Tom Chason of California and Paul Chason of Bratt; two sisters, Janice (Walter) Myers of Olive Branch, MS, and Darlene Levins of Bratt; and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
Funeral services will be held Friday, November 7, 2014, at 1 p.m.from the Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Tony Butler officiating. Burial will follow in Huxford Baptist Church Cemetery.
Visitation will be held Thursday, November 6, 2014, from 6-8 p.m. at the Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home in Atmore

Frances Nadine Carlisle Ward

Frances Nadine Carlisle Ward, 78, of McDavid, died November 2, 2014, in Pensacola after a long illness.
She was born November 4, 1935, in Sayre, OK, raised in Livingston, CA, and a resident of Escambia County, FL, since 1978. She was a member of Highland Baptist Church in Molino.
Frances was predeceased by her parents Edgar C. Carlisle and Maude E. Jernigan Carlisle, and brother Glen Ivan Carlisle.
Mrs. Ward is survived by her husband of 57 years, Billy R. Ward of McDavid; daughter, Gloria Ward of Boone, NC; Son Donald Ward of McDavid; grandsons, Derek Berry, Sean Ward and ZeZe Williams; sisters, Verta (Dave) Gentry and Barbara Carlisle of Canton, TX; and brothers H. Dale (Carole) Carlisle of Oregon and Roy (Cathy) Carlisle of Gainesville, MO.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, November 6, 2014, at Ray’s Chapel Baptist Church with Rev. Nathan Brown officiating. Burial will follow at Ray’s Chapel Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be deacons of Highland and Ray’s Chapel Baptist churches. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Ladies Sunday School Classes of Highland and Sr. Adult Class of Ray’s Chapel.

David Richard Reeves
November 3, 2014
David Richard Reeves, age 61of Cantonment and Cahaba, AL, went home to Jesus on November 1, 2014, after a lengthy battle with cancer. He was ushered into Heaven surrounded by his family.
David was an avid fisherman and hunter. He grew up hunting and fishing the Escambia River in Florida with his daddy, Elmer Richard Reeves. David later moved to Cahaba, AL, and fished the Cahaba and Alabama Rivers.
David was a 1971 graduate of Tate High School where he played football for the Aggies. He was an avid Alabama “Roll Tide” supporter.
David was the son of Elmer and Alvis Reeves of Cantonment. He is survived by his wife Carolyn Hane Reeves of Orrville, AL, (Cahaba, AL); sister, Marcelle (Dwight) Perritt of Cantonment; nephew, Damon (Pammie) Murphy of Cantonment; niece, DonaJean (Clay) Heist of Cantonment; and many great nieces, nephews, in-laws and friends.
David traveled with his job for many years as a crane operator and later managed a deer and wildlife farm plantation in Cahaba, AL.
David accepted Jesus into his heart at an early age but later reaffirmed his faith and his walk with Jesus while living in Alabama. He recently stated that he could only imagine what it is going to be like when he is face to face with Jesus. The Saturday before he passed he told his friend, Pastor Larry Nickles, and his family that he was getting up out of that bed the next morning and going to church. That is exactly what he did.
Visitation will be Friday, November 7, 2014, 12:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m. with services immediately following at 2:00 p.m.
Burial will be next to his daddy and mama at Roberts Cemetery, Gonzalez Methodist Church, in Gonzalez.

Rev. Robert Terry Vaughan

Rev. Robert Terry Vaughan, age 76 of the Clear Springs community in Alabama, passed away on Sunday, November 2, 2014. He was a longtime pastor and servant of the Lord. He was co-pastor of First Korean-American Baptist Church in Pensacola. He was a graduate of Pensacola High School, Auburn University and New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary and a member of the Auburn University Letterman’s Club.
Bro. Terry was preceded in death by his parents, Calvin Culpepper Vaughan and Robert Herman Vaughan and his brother, Kenner Lex Vaughan.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Sandra Baggett Vaughan; son, Philip (Darlene) Vaughan; daughter, Juanita (Don) Vick; four grandsons, Robert (Ashley) Vaughan, Thomas Vaughan, Brett Vick and Hunter Vick and two great- grandsons, Marcus and Byron Vaughan.
Services will be held on Wednesday, November 5, 2014, at the First Korean-American Baptist Church in Pensacola.
Visitation will be held from 10-11 a.m. until services begin at 11 a.m.. Burial will follow at Clear Springs United Medthodist Church Cemetery.

Dorothy Ann Blair, age 67 of Berrydale, was born on December 17, 1946, to John and Velma Dunn. She passed away October 28, 2014.
She was a great loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. She was devoted to her church, the Church of Christ, and loved working in the yard and decorating. Anyone who knew her, knew she loved anything that sparkled. She was dearly loved by her family and will be missed deeply. She was always ready to lend a hand to anybody that needed it.
She is preceded in death by her parents John and Velma Dunn.
She is survived by her loving husband of 50 years Ellis Blair; four children Lisa (Kenny) Tedder, Ken (Cindy) Blair, Tony (Beverly) Blair, and Deborah (Mike) Pilgrim; six grandchildren Nakisha (Jared) Gandy, Latisha (Myles) Lecesse, Trenton and Allison Blair, Blake Pilgrim, and Kaylen Blair; two great grandchildren Landyn Cooley and Eligh Lecesse; one sister Nell (Julius) Darby; two brothers Johnny (Peggy) Dunn, Woodraw (Karen) Dunn; and many nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends.
Pallbearers will be Bill Thompson, Kavin Borders, Jeff Barnhill, Ronnie Kirkland, Duane Kirkland, and Russell Beasley. Honorary pallbearers will be Willie Trawick and Wayne Cook.

E.D. “Bob” Pierce, 78 years young, passed peacefully into the arms of Jesus at his home, Thursday, October 30, 2014. He was surrounded by the warmth of his wife and family.
He had many affectionate names. Most knew him as Bob, Poppie or Paw. Well-loved, respected and admired in the community, Bob had a way of making everyone feel welcome and important. Bob had a strong work ethic. He counted his fellow workers on the job as his personal friends. He never met a stranger.
Bob enjoyed singing with the Gospel Harmonairs. He loved to golf, fish and cut grass. He married the love of his life of 37 years, Eunice Pierce, on his birthday, March 15th, 1977, as a personal gift to himself. He loved his family and extended family. He thought the world of his sisters, brothers, nieces, nephews cousins and in-laws. His wife, children and grandchildren were especially close to his heart.
Bob was born in Cantonment on March 15, 1936. He retired from Escambia County School District as Escambia County Schools transportation supervisor and spent over 30 years serving Escambia County School Board.
Bob was preceded in death by, his parents, Walter and Arena Montgomery Pierce; sisters, Eva Savage, Florida Mae Jones, Armetha Brooks and Lillie Mae Brown; brothers, Sid Pierce, John Pierce and Abe Pierce and nephew Hercules “Peewee” Gray.
He is survived by his loving wife of 37 years, Eunice Pierce; step-daughters, Rev. Gina (Robert) Bryan, Anita Presley and Judy Presley; grandchildren, Brian (Kellie) Malone, Taylor Edwards, Christina Bryan and David Bryan; sisters, Arlene Gray, Carlee Donald, Mattie Mae Gray; six great grandchildren and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
Visitation will be Monday, November 3, 2014, 5-8 p.m. for friends at Faith Chapel Funeral Home North, 1000 South Hwy 29, Cantonment, Florida.
A special celebration of life service will be held on Tuesday, November 4th, 2014, at 12:30 pm at Faith Chapel North, officiated by Rev. Timothy Nail and Rev. Gina Bryan. Interment will follow at Pensacola Memorial Gardens, 7433 Pine Forest Road, Pensacola.
The family is accepting flowers as well as donations to Ensley United Methodist Church in Bob’s memory.

Rosie May (Koehn) Eicher
November 2, 2014
Rosie May (Koehn) Eicher passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 30 2014,, in her home in Walnut Hill with her family surrounding her bedside. She was born on October 16, 1944, in Kansas, and celebrated her 70th birthday two weeks before her passing.
She was married to Eldon Eicher of Walnut Hill on March 30, 1975, making Walnut Hill her home. She was a fine homemaker, and also worked at the Atmore Community Hospital and later at a doctor’s office as a transcriptionist. She was diagnosed with cancer about 10 years ago and fought that battle until her passing. She will be sadly missed by all that knew her.
She is survived by her husband of 39 years, Eldon; two sons Leonard, Scenic Ridge, OH, and John and wife Kristen of Walnut Hill; two precious grandsons; one sister and three brothers. She was preceded in death by her mother, both parents-in-law, and one brother-in-law.
Funeral services will be held Monday morning, November 3, 2014, at 10:30 a.m. at the Walnut Hill Mennonite Church.
Visitation will be held at the Walnut Hill Mennonite Church on Sunday evening, November 2, from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m.

Mr. Shane Lee, 39, passed away on Wednesday, October 29, 2014, in Atmore.
Mr. Lee was a native of Pensacola and a resident of Bratt for most of his life. Mr. Lee was a trainer with the M.M.A., loved to write poems and he loved his daughters and family very much.
Survivors include his father, Russell Lee of Bratt; mother Debbie Lee of Bratt; two daughters, Skye Lee of Atmore, and Somer Lee of Atmore; brother, Robert “Snuffy” Findley of Atmore and four Sisters, Amber Broadhead of Bratt, Sheena Carach of Bratt, Karissa Lee of Bratt and Heather Lee of Bratt.
Funeral services will be Sunday, November 2, 2014, at 2 p.m. at the Unity Baptist Church with Rev. Gene Pickern officiating.
Burial will follow at the Godwin Cemetery.
Visitation will be Saturday, November 1, 2014, from 6-8 p.m. at the Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home.

Robert J. Overstreet 71, of Atmore, passed away October 28, 2014, in Atmore. He was born August 23, 1943, in Robinsonville to the late Willard and Rosie Godwin Overstreet. Mr. Overstreet was a carpenter, a loving and caring christian man and he had his sense of humor until the end. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Tommy Overstreet; and sister, Suzie Godwin.
He is survived by his wife, Linda Lancaster Overstreet of Atmore; sons, Michael and Joey Overstreet both of Atmore; two stepsons, Keith and Jonathan Coleman both of Bay Minette; daughter, Michelle Overstreet of Atmore; step-daughter, Lynissa Newsome of Bay Minette; two brothers, Jerry Overstreet of Tuscaloosa, AL and Jim Overstreet of Atmore; two sisters, Lois Presley of Atmore and Mary Overstreet of Virginia; three grandchildren; one great-grandchild and seven step-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, November 1, 2014, at 12 p.m. from the Brooks Memorial Baptist Church with Rev. Robert Heard and Rev. Paul Enfinger officiating.
Burial will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery.

Katherin “Kay” Hull

Katherine “Kay” Hull, 61, of Cantonment made her journey home to be with the Lord.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Alton Ray Stephens and Bernice Ayers-Stephens; her husband, John T. Hull; her brother, Jack Stephens; and a great-nephew, Dillon Ray Sanderson.
Kay is survived by her stepson, Mike Hull of Lamar, MO; three grandsons, Zane, Wyatt, and Eli; five sisters, Pat Gilliland of OK, Nancy James of FL, Tommie Morgan of OK, Ginger Watson of FL, Sheila Hood of OK; two brothers, Gary Stephens of LA and Roy Stephens of LA; nieces; nephews; great nieces; and great nephews; a special little angel named Sage that was her life; and a very special “friend” Keith Bell.
Kay was the aunt that all the nieces and nephews loved. “Kerry”, called by her family, never met a stranger. With a life of prayer she knew that she would be accepted into Heaven with open arms.
Kay had many friends and will be missed by all.
