Mary Harrison

Mrs. Mary Harrison went home to be with her savior on September 15, 2014. She was born to Horace and Julia (Cotton) Smith on November 12, 1926, and was 87 years young.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry (Buddy) Harrison and her mother and father and many brothers and sisters.
She is survived by one son, Larry (Brenda) Harrison; one daughter, Linda (Roger) Williams; one sister, Brady (Chuck, deceased) Ebersole; four grandchildren, Becky (Ronnie) Moore, Eugene (Natalie) Harrison, Wayne (Cindy) Harrison, and Melissa (Patrick) Fagnan; ten great-grandchildren, Billy Dykes, Brian Dykes, Felicia Jernigan, Justin Harrison, Brenan Dykes, Kayla Harrison, Brittany Ates, Tiffany Ates, Jamie Harrison, and Whitley Harrison; six great-great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
She retired from Monsanto after 26 years as a draw twist operator. She was a founding member of True Worship Assembly of God and a former member of Jay First Assembly of God Church where she participated in the choir for many years. She loved her church family and loved going to church for worship, singing, and fellowship. She loved to laugh and had a wonderful sense of humor, often bringing a joke to share with her fellow church members. She loved to work in her flower garden, even into her eighties. She loved, fed, scolded, and prayed for each of her family, all with a genuine heart of love.
Pallbearers will be her two grandsons, Eugene and Wayne Harrison, and her four great-grandsons, Billy Dykes, Brian Dykes, Justin Harrison, and Brenan Dykes.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, September 18, 2014, with visitation from 1 p.m. until service time at Jay Funeral Home with Reverend Adam Peterson officiating.
Burial will follow at Jay City Cemetery.

Tammy Teresa Turk McCann

Mrs. Tammy Teresa Turk McCann, 50, passed away on Friday, September 12, 2014, in Birmingham.
Mrs. McCann was a native of Flomaton and a resident of Bratt for the past 30 years. She was a school bus driver for the Escambia County (FL) School District for the past 15 years; she was a Sunday school and youth leader at church. She was a member of the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church.
Her father, Clint Turk and grandson, Logan Hawthorne precede her in death.
Survivors include her mother, Mary Turk of Pollard, AL; Husband, Robert McCann of Bratt; four daughters, Jennifer (Tony) Zisa of Bratt, Kimberly (Chance) Hawthorne of Flomaton, Leslie (Clifton Furney) McCann of Canoe, AL, and Megan (Adden Swenson) McCann of Pensacola; two sisters, Debra (Tony) Simmons of Panama City and Chasity (Mike) Pettis of Brewton; and six grandchildren.
Funeral services will be Tuesday, September 16, 2014, at 10 a.m. at the Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home in Atmore with Rev. Kevin Stott officiating.
Burial will follow at the Flomaton Cemetery.
Visitation will be Monday, September 15, 2014, from 6-9 p.m. at the Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Chance Hawthorne, Tony Zisa, Clifton Furney, Adden Swenson, Keith McCann and Skylar Macks.
Honorary pallbearers will be Steve Hanks and Nathan Simmons.

Betty Sue Raughton
September 14, 2014
Betty Sue Raughton, age 60 of Jay, left on wings of angels September 13, 2014. She was a member of Cornerstone Christian Church. She taught Sunday school there as well as many of churches she attended. She enjoyed flower gardening and will be missed by her family and friends who she loved deeply.
She is survived by her husband, Charles Raughton of 43 years and mother-in-law, Mattie Presley, both of Jay; brother and sister-in-law, John and Ellen Raughton of Orange, TX; sister, Polly and husband, Mike Knight of Andalusia; and sister, Vivian Dyess of Dade City, FL; special nephew and niece, William and Margie Wells of Perdido; numerous other nieces and nephews.
Betty is preceded in death by her parents, Alion and Lummie Williamson; sisters, Katie Lou Raffeo and Mattie Smith; and brothers, Ranger Williamson and A.G. Williamson.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, September 16, 2014, at 2 p.m. at Concord Primitive Baptist Church with Bro. Bill Stewart and Fredrick Barrow officiating.
Burial will follow at the church cemetery.
A visitation will be held from 1 p.m. until service time at 2 p.m.
Pallbearers will be Jim Ray Colley, Tommy Castleberry, James Kirkland, Charlie White, Wes Mathews and Dennis Watson.
Honorary pallbearers will be Joe Smith, George Hall, Dr. Bascom Raney, Clarence Smith and James Diamond.

John Wright “J.W.” Dewberry, 87 of Cantonment,passed away on Thursday, September 11, 2014. John was born in Repton, AL on July 30, 1927.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, Myrtle Dewberry; parents, Byron and Ruthie Dewberry; one brother-in-law, Clyde Givens; and one brother, James Dewberry..
He is survived by one son, Edwin (Ann) Joyner; one loving and caring sister, Annie Givens; two grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was a faithful member of Farm Hill United Methodist Church.
Pallbearers were Alton Givens, Keith Givens, Johnnie Givens, Ronnie Givens, Ken Joyner, and Gregg Raughton.
Funeral services were held Saturday, September 13, 2014 at Faith Chapel Funeral Home North with Rev. Stuart Worth and Rev. John Kuritz officiating.
Burial was in Pensacola Memorial Gardens Cemetery.

Margaret Wingard Banks, 91 of Atmore, passed away on Tuesday, September 9, 2014, in Pensacola. She was owner and operator of Wingard’s Jewelry. She was born in Milligan, FL on April 13, 1923, to the late Allen and Alice Mason Garrett. She was a member of the Presley Street Baptist Church.
She is preceded in death by her husbands, Graham Wingard and George Banks; daughter, Linda Siders; son, “Al” Wingard; and two sisters.
Survivors include her son, John Larry (Cindy) Wingard of Alabaster, AL; 11grandchildren, Tracy Donegan, Morgan Thomas, Colton Wingard, Auston Wingard, Cody Siders, Chase Siders, Christopher Siders, Casey Siders, John David Wingard, Cody Allen Wingard, and Michelle Wingard; and 13 great-granchildren.
Services will be held Saturday, September 13, 2014, at 10:30 a.m. from the Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Mike Grindle officiating.
Interment will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery.

Laura R. Moore, 85 of Atmore, passed away Monday, September 8, 2014, in Foley. She was retired from Vanity Fair Mills as a supervisor. She was born in Atmore on June 7, 1929, to the late W.D. and Annie Lou Sims Ross. She was a member of the Judson Baptist Church.
She is preceded in death by her husband, John L. Moore, Sr.; and sister, Janice Johnson.
Survivors include one son, Johnny (Pat) Moore, Jr. of Cantonment; one daughter, Susan (Joe) Terry of Atmore; four grandchildren, Chris Terry, Ross Terry, Stacey Neshem, and Tracy Moore; six great-grandchildren, Aaron Neshem, Christian Neshem, Grace Terry, Elizabeth Terry, John Terry and J.W. Terry.
Services will be held Friday, September 12, 2014, at 2:30 p.m. from the Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Henry Wilson and Bro. Brett Chancery officiating.
Interment will follow in Judson Cemetery.
Active pallbearers will be Jeff Ross, Fred Moore, Fred Peavy, Charles Peavy, Keith Hayles and Ted Malone.

Nicole Rolin Teague, age 36, a resident of Fairhope, AL, passed Tuesday, September 9, 2014.
She is survived by her husband, Matthew Teague; daughters, Molly and Evangeline Teague, all of Fairhope; father, Raymond Rolin of Atmore; mother, Mary Smith of Pensacola; sisters, Megan Gordon and Hillary Rolin, both of Bay Minette.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, September 11, 2014, at 10 a.m. at the First Baptist Church of Fairhope. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
Interment will follow in Colony Cemetery.
Frank Lee Wolfe

On September 9, 2014, Frank Lee Wolfe, age 56, was called to a heavenly homecoming. Frank was born on November 8, 1957, to Claude and Martha Wolfe of Jay. He had four brothers, Johnny (Judy), of Jay, Robert (Susan) of Hamilton, AL, Paula of Pensacola and Joseph of Oakdale, LA. Frank married on September 12, 1980, to Patricia Nell (Todd) Wolfe. He is survived by one daughter, Wendy Williamson (Tony) of Slocomb AL. They have three granddaughters Macey, Cassey, and Katherine.
Frank worked at Jim Walter Doors, Jay City Cafe, ServiceMaster at Monsanto and Whiting Field – Gulf Coast Enterprise. He resided in Jay with Patricia for 33 years.
Thanks to Destin Health and Rehabilitation Center, doctors, family, friends who helped with his care.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, September 13, 2014, at Jay Funeral Home with Reverend McWilliams and Reverend Wiley officiating.
A visitation will also be held from 1 p.m. until service time at Jay Funeral Home.
Burial will be held privately at a later time.

George Findley Lee, 76, passed away on September 8, 2014, at his home in Molino surrounded by his loved ones.
He was a member of Calvary Apostolic Tabernacle in Molino.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Dena; father, Murdock Lee; son, Michael Lee; and brother, Dauphin Lee.
George is survived by his mother, Gladys Lee; two brothers, Buford (Faye) and Randy (Carri) Lee; stepdaughter, Angie (Jerry) Barnes; two grandsons, Taylor O’Dell and Deven Golden; and numerous other family members and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, September 12, 2014, at Calvary Apostolic Tabernacle with Rev. Rusty Knowles, officiating.
Burial will follow in First Pentecostal Church Cemetery.

Patricia Ann Powell, 73, of Pensacola, passed away Sunday, September 7, 2014. She enjoyed spending time with her kids, grandkids, fishing and camping with her husband; also shopping and keeping Jack in line.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Jimmie and Nell Floyd; sisters, Snoopy and Sis; and her brother, Frank Floyd.
She is survived by her loving husband, Jack C. Powell; brother, Jimmie Floyd (Chris); sister, Sandra; son, Lloyd Murph; daughters, Cheryl Shaberly (Steve), Donna Moore (Michael), Kim Vedder (Ralph) and Deanna Mayes (Kenny); 12 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and her adopted daughters, Pastor Renee and Cheryl Brown.
Pallbearers will be Jessie, Chance, Buddy, Clifton and James.
Honorary pallbearers will be Pat, Ralph, Kenny and Michael.
