Doris Elizabeth McCann Cassady

September 22, 2014

Doris Elizabeth McCann Cassady, age 85 passed away in Pensacola early Wednesday morning, September 17,2014, after suffering from the ravages of Alzheimer’s disease. She was an Avon Lady for 40 years before she moved to Crestview. Doris was active in church groups, both Methodist and Baptist and had many friends. Time spent with Doris was a laugh a minute but her claim to fame, along with several church friends, was their rendition of “Elvira” that was performed many times in public, much to the chagrin of her family.

Doris was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Leon Cassady and her brother, Robert “Bobby” McCann. She is survived by two sons; David, his wife Mary Nell and their children, Matthew and Rebecca Cassady and Paul, his wife Pamela and their children Jeffrey and his wife, Miok, Adam and his wife Beth and their daughter, Camille, John, Elizabeth and Mark Cassady; her sister, Louise Nicholson; her brothers, Roger and his wife June, William “Billy” and his wife Ethel McCann; sister-in-law Martha McCann and numerous nieces and nephews.
