Vicky Martin

Vicky Martin of Molino passed away on Thursday, November 13, 2014.

She was a member of Aldersgate United Methodist Church. She was a very loving, devoted and caring wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was also a very loving sister to all her brothers and sisters. For a short time she worked as a substitute teacher at Molino Elementary School and also worked at the Florida State employment office, but her most accomplished job of all was being an amazing wife and mother. She enjoyed cooking, baking, going to the beach and most of all being with her family.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Harold Martin; parents, WT Harris and Lennie Harris; sister, Faye Drummond; and brother, Larry Harris.

Vicky is survived by her two sons, Jason (Shellie) Martin and Steve (Misty) Martin; grandchildren, John MaKenzie, Matthew, McKenzie and Brenden; great-grandchild, Maizie; siblings, Charles Harris, Pat Caum, Carol Maddox, Sue Chatterton, and Sandy Midlam; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, November 18, 2014, at Faith Chapel Funeral Home North with Pastor Jimmy Cook, officiating.

A private visitation is scheduled for the family only.

Burial will be in Aldersgate United Methodist Church Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Jason Martin, Steve Martin, John Martin, Kevin Midlam, Chris McDonald and Ronnie McDonald.

Honorary pallbearers will be Charles Harris, Gene Martin and Richard Chatterton.

Ethel Lee Mooney Martin

November 16, 2014

Ethel Lee Mooney Martin, 88 of Davisville, passed away Friday, November 14, 2014, at her residence. She was a homemaker. She was born in Franklin, AL on November 23, 1925, to the late Jessie Lee and Evie Lambert Mooney. She was a member of the Pine Barren Baptist Church.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Robert J. Martin and a brother, Elmer Mooney.

Survivors include her four sons, Ronnie (Gayle) Martin of Atmore, Harold (JoAnn) Martin of Atmore, Bobby (Nancy) Martin of Davisville and Greg Martin of Bratt; one brother, Lester Mooney of Newman, GA; one sister, Glennie Byrd of Atmore; nine grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.

Services were held Sunday, November 16, 2014, from Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Mike Harper officiating.

Interment will follow in Godwin Cemetery.

Grandsons will be pallbearers.

Charles Stephen Hahn

November 16, 2014

Charles Stephen Hahn passed away Thursday, November 13, 2014.

Mr. Hahn was born on December 27, 1939, to the late Charles and Malzie Hahn.

He was a deacon at Mobile Highway Baptist Church and had worked at service, welding and St. Regis International Paper Company.

He is survived by his sweetheart, her hero and husband of 53 years,Lynn Hahn; children of the best devoted dad, Traci (Mike) Cummings and Stephen Troy (Debra) Hahn. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Clay Cummings and Eden Hahn; great-grandsons, Brantley Cummings and Tripp Gilly; siblings, Betty Carter, Mickey Hahn, Yvonne Hahn (Sidney Marshall); Terri Hahn (Dennis Anthony); and a host of nieces and nephews.

Services will be held Monday, November 17, 2014, at 6 p.m. at Faith Chapel North will Rev. Bill Tinker officiating. Visitation will begin at 5:30 p.m. prior to services.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Mobile Highway Baptist Church, 9721 Mobile Highway, Pensacola, FL 32507.

Darion Taylor Riley

November 13, 2014

Darion Taylor Riley passed away Tuesday, November 11, 2014. She was born in Pensacola on February 15, 1998. She was a junior at Northview High School. She loved her school, teachers and friends. She will be remembered for her incredible intellect, great sense of humor and creative mind. Darion has always had a love of art and music. She loved all the time she spent in band and especially guitar.

Darion is proceeded in death by her father, Kelly Riley; uncle, Joe Derrico; grandmother, Patrica Derrico; grandfather, Stephen Riley; and great-grandmother, Deloris Kennedy.

She is survived by her mother, Tammy Riley; two brothers, Connor and Christian Riley; stepfather, Dave Bradley; stepbrother, Toby Bradley; grandmother, Deloris Perry; grandfather, Roger Kervin; uncle, Brian Lenon; and adopted grandparents, Kathy and Paul Kattau, among many other family members.

Services will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, November 15, 2014, at Faith Chapel North with Brian Calhoun officiating. Visitation will begin at 12 p.m., prior to services.

Pallbearers will be Rickey Smith, Derick Edmonson, Lane Carnley, Dale Brown, Kevin Kervin and Troy Kervin.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Faith Chapel North in her name or donate in her name to your favorite charity.

A reception will follow the service at Highland Baptist Church.

Jean Nacole Johnson

November 13, 2014

Jean Nacole Johnson, 34 of Atmore, passed away Tuesday, November 11, 2014, in Bay Minette. She was born in Atmore on January 19, 1980, to Ronald and Linda Pugh Johnson.

Survivors include her parents, Ronald and Linda Johnson of Mccullough; two sisters, Janice Johnson (Douglas) Cook of RoeNoe Park, CA and Magan Noel Johnson of McCullough; grandmother, Edna Johnson; aunts and uncles, Michael (Susan) Johnson, Larry Johnson, Karen Pugh and Johnnie Pugh; and one nephew, William Lemmon of Mccullough.

Services will be Friday, November 14, 2014, at 11 a.m. from the McCullough Christian Center with Rev. C.P. Phillips officiating.

Interment will follow in McCullough Cemetery.

Family will receive friends, Friday, November 14, 2014, at the McCullough Christian Center from 10 a.m. until service time at 11 a.m.

Alice Faye Kimmons Wilson

Mrs. Alice Faye Kimmons Wilson, 68, passed away on Thursday, November 13, 2014, in Flomaton.

Mrs. Wilson was a native of Frisco City, AL. and a resident of Flomaton for the past 28 years. Mrs. Wilson retired from Vanity Fair after 30 years of service. She was a member of the Holy Ground Holiness Church. Her parents, Russell and Allie Kimmons, three brothers, Marvin, Junior and Mack Kimmons and one daughter-in-law, Loraine Kimmons, precede her in death.

Survivors include her husband of 51 years, Carl Wilson of Flomaton; one son, Jerry Walter “Buddy” Kimmons of Brewton; three daughters, Kathy (Mickey) Stophel of Flomaton, Brenda (Billy) Goodman of Flomaton, and Lisa Robbins of Flomaton; two sisters Estelle Buckhault of Bratt and Betty Wilson of Flomaton; 11 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be Saturday, November 15, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. at the Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home with Rev. Bobby Carnley and Brandon Stophel officiating.

Burial will follow at the Flomaton Cemetery.

Visitation will be Friday, November 13, 201,  from6-9 p.m. at the Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home.

James Hosea Wright

November 13, 2014

James Hosea Wright age 69 of Jay, finished the race and went home to be with the Lord on Monday, November 10, 2014. Jim, as he was called, was born in Tuscaloosa, AL on December 21, 1944. He graduated from Tuscaloosa County High School and went on to receive a bachelor’s degree in recreation from the University of Alabama. He was in the ministry and was preaching at the Church of Christ in Graceville, FL.

Jim is survived by his wife, Leah Crouse Wright of Jay; his son, Wyeth Wright and daughter-in-law Jona of Monroe, LA; brother, Tom Wright of Birmingham; sister, Beth Page and brother-in-law Alfred of Tuscaloosa; five grandchildren, Tyler Blackmon and Zachary Blackmon of Jay, and Braxton, Avery, and Paisley Wright of Monroe, LA; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Walton H. Wright and Mary Lou Wright of Tuscaloosa; aunt, Myrtle Harper of Tuscaloosa; and daughter, Misty Wright Herring of Jay.

Jim grew up in Tuscaloosa  and became a Christian at the age of eight. He spent the next 61 years of his life serving God and helping others. Upon graduation from the University of Alabama, he became director of The Boys Club in Tuscaloosa before joining his father in the family business, Wright’s Bakery and Restaurant. He continued this for 18 years until being called into ministry and has been doing so ever since. He has touched many lives in many places and had a true heart for ministry. He was a Godly man who loved the Lord and his family more than anything. He sought to please God and honor Him throughout his life, and he did just that.

A “Celebration of His Life” will be held in his honor and memory on Friday, November 14, 2014, at Century Church of Christ, 430 E Highway 4, in Century. Visitation will be from 1 p.m. until 2 p.m. Services will follow at 2 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the James H. Wright Memorial Fund through the United Bank of Jay.

Jaime Lyn Parr

November 11, 2014

Jaime Lyn Parr, 38, peacefully passed away on November 4, 2014, in Pensacola. She was born in Brunswick, ME in 1975.

She graduated from Bolton High School in Arlington, TN in 1994. She moved to Pensacola in 1995 and has been a resident of Molino since 2012. Jaime loved to paint, cook, decorate, and loved crafts of all kinds and enjoyed gardening.

Survivors include her parents, Harlan and Debbie Parr of Molino; two sons, Jackson (15) and Joshua (13) of Molino; sister, Amanda Parr (Tony) Ward of Let Ohatchee, AL; two nieces, Kadence and Zola; and longtime boyfriend, Jason Strawbridge of North Carolina.

Memorial services were held Saturday, November 8, 2014, at Faith Chapel Funeral Home North.

Jerry Blackburn

Mr. Jerry Blackburn, 69, passed away on Sunday, November 9, 2014, in Atmore.

Mr. Blackburn was a native of Mobile and a resident of Atmore for most of his life. He was a member of the Living Church of God for 6 years. His grandmother, Anna Blackburn; mother, Lillie Mae Blackburn; and brothers, Kenny Hopson and Earl McGhee precede him in death.

Survivors include his wife, Shelia Todd Blackburn; four sons, Jerry Dean Blackburn, Christopher James Blackburn, Lionel Todd Blackburn and Lawrence Edward Taylor; two daughters, Shelley Blackburn Taylor and Janet Blackburn; one brother, Jimmy Hopson; one sister, Beverly Garza; five grandchildren, Julie White, Jennifer Williams, Joey Fullerton, Phillip Fullerton and Jeremiah Blackburn Taylor; and eight great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be Thursday, November 13, 2014, at 1 p.m. at the Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home with Rev. Eddie Breaux officiating.

Burial will follow at the New Home Cemetery.

Visitation will be Wednesday, November 12, 2014 from 6 to 9 PM at the Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home.

Elbie Jake Pugh

November 11, 2014

Elbie Jake Pugh, 82 of Jay, passed away Sunday, November 9, 2014, in Century. He was a truck driver. He was born in Molino on July 29, 1932, to the late Oscar and Addie Mae Dunman Pugh. He served in the U.S. Army in the Korean War. He  was of Assembly of God faith.

He is preceded in death by a son, Terry Pugh; and grandson, A.J. Pugh.

Survivors include three sons, Larry (Charlene) Pugh of Atmore, Gary Pugh and Wayne Pugh; two daughters, Elaine Pugh and Linda Pugh both of Jay; three grandchildren, Jennifer Pugh, Larry Pugh, Jr. and Matthew Kyle (Brittiany) Luker; and two great-grandchildren, Cadyn and Kysun Luker.

Graveside services were held Tuesday, November 11, 2014, in Jay Cemetery in Jay, with Rev. Earl Green officiating.

Interment was in Jay Cemetery.

Active pallbearers were Larry Pugh, Jr., Matthew Luker, Robin Jay, Austin Johnson, John Brown, and Michael Grenshaw.
