Mr. Ronald Wayne Johnson, 63, passed away on Saturday, August 30, 2014, in Bluff Springs.
Mr. Johnson was a native of Reedley, California and a resident of Bluff Springs since 1976. Mr. Johnson was a former gospel musician (guitar player). His grandparents, Robert & Maggie Johnson of Century and Levi and Aley Johnson of Marysville, CA precede him in death.
Survivors include his parents, Aubrey and Rosa Johnson of Bluff Springs; one brother, David (Jackie) Johnson of Bratt; one sister, Alice (Dee) Bennett of Panama City, FL; one nephew, Dale (Karen) Johnson of Pace; one great-nephew, Nathanael Johnson of Pace; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. He leaves behind his special friends, Nick and Teressa Emmert of Pensacola.
Funeral services were held Monday, September 1, 2014, at 2 p.m. at the Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home with Rev. Kevin Stott and Bro. Dale Johnson officiating.
Burial will follow at the McCurdy Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Nick, Emmert, Dusty Richardson, Darrin Merchant, Ken Johnson, Dale Johnson and Robert Gandy.

Irwin Randall Barlow

Mr. Irwin Randall Barlow, 66, passed away on Monday, September 1, 2014, in Bratt.
Mr. Barlow was a native of Walnut Hill and a resident of Bratt for the past 10 years. Mr. Barlow was an avid outdoorsman, fisher and hunter. He is preceded in death by his lifetime fishing buddy, Buddy Crews.
He is survived by his companion, Debra Crenshaw of Atmore; two brothers, Travis (Debra) Barlow of Soperton, GA and Gilbert T. “Buddy” (Linda) Barlow of Walnut Hill; one sister, Gayle (Ronnie) Martin of Atmore; one aunt, Bobbi Jones of Atmore; five nieces, two nephews, six great nieces, seven great nephews and two great-great nieces.
Memorial services for Mr. Barlow will be announced at a later date.

Clara L. Stacey

Clara L. Stacey, 83 of McCullough, passed away Saturday, August 30, 2014, at her residence. She was a homemaker born in Escambia County, Fla., on May 13, 1931, to the late Beddie Edward and Annie Singleton Conway. She was a member of the Atmore Church of God.
She is preceded in death by daughters, Linda Jane Stacey and Nelda Christine Pistorcich; grandson, Allen Pistorcich; three sisters; and five brothers.
Survivors include her husband of 64 years, Charles Stacey; one son, Charles “Buddy” (Lisa) Stacey all of McCullough; two daughters, Marie (Ross) Brown of Perdido and Betty (Michael) Smith of Atmore; two brothers, Winston (Helen) Conway and Ray Conway all of Pensacola; two sisters, Joyce (Howard) Neal of Excel and Kathyrin (Ralph) Drew of Atmore; nine grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
Services were held Monday, September 1, 2014, at 2 p.m. from Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Glenn Bryars officiating.
Interment will follow in McCullough Cemetery.
Active pallbearers are Daniel Biggs, David Pistorcich, Korey Biggs, Clayton Stacey, River Watson , and Roger Hadley.

Yvonne Marques Bledsoe, 78 of Cantonment, passed away on Wednesday, August 27, 2014.
Mrs. Bledsoe was born on January 17, 1936, in Wilmington, DE to the late Edwin and Isabel Marques. She lived most of her childhood years in Silver Spring, MD with her family.She was an active member of Trinity Lutheran Church of Cantonment where she enjoyed singing in the choir. She loved crocheting, playing the piano and animals.
Mrs. Bledsoe is survived by her husband, James; two daughters, Kathleen (Gary) McCulloch and Barbara Purvis; three granddaughters, Kristen (Brannon) Huckstep, Michelle McCulloch (Scott Truitt) and Jamie (Eric) Haynes; grandson, Matthew Purvis (Chelsea Bridges); and six great-grandsons.
Funeral services were held Friday, August 29, 2014, at Faith Chapel Funeral Home North with Rev. Sanford Stanton officiating.
Burial was in Barrancas National Cemetery.

Mrs. Sonya Dyess Fillingim, 51, passed away on Monday, August 25, 2014, in Flomaton.
Mrs. Fillingim was a resident of Flomaton since 1995. Her husband, Neal Fillingim, precedes her in death.
She is survived by her parents, Mr.and Mrs. Wayne Dyess, of Jay; son, Cameron ( Sheena ) of Flomaton; sister, Wanda D. Joyner, of Jay; and two grandchildren, Bailey Fillingim and Adalyn Fillingim, both of Flomaton.
Visitation will be Sunday, August 31, 2014, from 6 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Petty- Eastside Chapel Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be Monday, September 1, 2014, at 10 a.m. at Petty- Eastside Chapel Funeral Home with Rev. Tony Richburg and Rev. Fredrick Barrow officiating.

Mrs. Sadie Hadley Johnson, 90, passed away on Sunday, August 24, 2014, in Mobile.
Mrs. Johnson was a native of Stockton and a resident of Perdido for most of her life. Mrs. Johnson was a great mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister. She was a very loving and caring person. She was a member of the Lottie Baptist Church. Her husband, Doil Hadley and son, Glenn Hadley, precede her in death.
She is survived by two sons, Dallas (Carmer) Hadley of Perdido and Larry (Wanda) Hadley of Atmore; daughter-in-law, Lore Hadley of Perdido; one brother, Jerry Hall of Perdido; one sister, Myrtle Rutherford of Atmore; eight grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services were held Wednesday, August 27, 2014, at the Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home with Rev. Chris Pruitt officiating.
Burial was at the Lottie Methodist Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Gilbert Hadley, Tony Hadley, Mack Hadley, Leo Hadley, Dewayne Hall and Billy Wayne Donald.

Theresa Walker Gilley

Theresa Walker Gilley, 84, of Cantonment, passed away on Saturday, August 23, 2014. Theresa Walker Gilley “Tea” was born in Barbour County, AL on January 19, 1930, to Lawrence and Laura Walker. She graduated valedictorian from Blue Springs High School in 1947. She received a teaching degree from Troy State Teacher’s College and taught second grade for one year in Tuscaloosa, AL. She married Francis Gilley on February 24, 1951. She was the mother of six children; three boys and three girls. Although Theresa had joined the church and was baptized at an early age, she realized while listening to Evangelist Oliver Greene on the radio that she had never been saved; so she received Jesus Christ as her Savior and was born again. She now resides in Heaven with her Savior, family, and many friends.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Francis Gilley; her parents; three brothers; three sisters; and one great-grandson.
She is survived by her sister, Frances Caudle; sons, Michael Gilley (Tina), Daniel Gilley and Benjamin Gilley; daughters, Carol Kuretz, Judith Doane and Laura Suddarth; 22 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Sam Gilley, Paul Gilley, David Gilley, Luke Gilley, Nathen Kuretz and Jonathan Kuretz.
Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. until 12 p.m., Thursday, August 28, 2014, with funeral services to begin at 12 p.m. at Faith Chapel Funeral Home North with Gary E. Ginsky officiating.
Interment will follow at Barrancas National Cemetery.

Myrtle Virginia Dewberry

Myrtle Virginia Dewberry, 93 of Cantonment, passed away Friday, August 22, 2014.
Myrtle was born in Evergreen, AL on January 15, 1921. She was a member of Farm Hill United Methodist Church.
She is survived by her loving husband of 62 years, John Dewberry; one son, Edwin (Ann) Joyner; one loving sister-in-law, Annie Givens; two grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Alton Givens, Keith Givens, Jonathon Nicholson, Ken Joyner, Rex Dease, and Gregg Raughton.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, August 26, 2014, at Faith Chapel Funeral Home North with Rev. Stewart Worth and Rev. John Kuritz officiating.
Burial will follow in Pensacola Memorial Gardens Cemetery.

Louis Horace Myrick

He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Sheila Bryant Myrick; his sons, Doug (Terri) Myrick and Alvin (Jan) Myrick and his daughter, Sharon (Ricky) McCrory. He is also survived by grandchildren, Tiffany (Mike) Settle, Regina Lashley, Monica (Ryan) Scully, Robert (Brittany) Myrick, Brandon (Gina) McCrory, and Shane (Miranda) McCrory. He leaves 10 great-grand children to cherish his memory.
Being the oldest child, Horace was adored by his surviving siblings – Virgil (Jane) Myrick, Verne Myrick, Wayne (Eleanor) Myrick, Ronnie (Hilda) Myrick, Veneta (Bruce) Wentz and Vicki (Troy) McCurdy – and including numerous nieces and nephews and their families.
Horace graduated in 1956 from J.M. Tate High School. He went on to retire from Armstrong World Industries as a fabrication supervisor with 40 years of service. He was an Alabama “Roll Tide” fan and he spent his retirement years enjoying his family and spoiling the great-grandchildren with camping and fishing trips. A family “fish fry” was a recurrent event – kick ball games played, jokes told, tales repeated – but more importantly, the love of family and friends being embedded in all the lives he touched.
Our sincerest thanks and appreciation go out to Dr. David Phillips and his staff; as well as the entire 3rd floor PCU Nursing Staff at Sacred Heart Hospital for the care and love shown.
Visitation will be held at Bellview Church of Christ onSaufley Field Road in Pensacola on Friday, August 29th, from 10 a.m. until noon with funeral services beginning at noon. Interment immediately following service at Pensacola Memorial Gardens. Reception/fellowship to follow at the church.
Howard Allen Mason

Howard Allen Mason, age 87, a native of Walnut Hill and a resident of Molino, passed away, Friday, August 22, 2014.
Howard retired as Wood Yard Superintendent from St. Regis Paper Company, Kraft Division, after 38 years of service. Over the years, Howard was involved throughout Escambia County with various youth baseball organizations. He was well respected within the local baseball community. Howard spent countless hours supporting and traveling with the Country Cloggers. “Heaven has gained a wonderful coordinator and trip organizer”. Over the years we have heard many kind words about our dad. From many people, as well as within his own family, we’ve been told that our dad was “one of a kind”. He was friendly and kind to everyone he met and well respected for his morals and values.
Howard was preceded in death by his parents, Vernon and Eva Strickland Mason; and his beloved daughter, Roxanne Griffith.
Howard is survived by his loving wife of 70 years, Valerie; two sons, Bobby (Eddiemae), and Roger (Susie); grandchildren, Rob Mason, Greg Mason, Julie Swank, Amy Mason, Matt Lee, and Mandie Presley; great-grandchildren, Austin, Kylie, Tori, Matthew, Ryan, Brooklyn, Brittany, Cortney, Shane, Janey, Haley, Mallory and Mason; brothers, Larue, Ellis (Billie Jean), Jerry (Betty); and sisters, Annie Joyce Holt and Verna Scott (Clayton).
The family extends a special thank you to Emerald Coast Hospice, with special gratitude to Brenda, Shari, Megan, and Jason. Howard also wanted to extend a thank you to all his doctors, Dr. Judson, Dr. T Williams, Dr. S Clements, Jr., Dr. J Luetkemeyer, Dr. S Patel, Dr. R Riche, Dr. F Greskovich, Dr. J Lurton, Dr. R Sellers, and Dr. C Chapleau. He also thanks those at Baptist Hospital that helped with the care he received these past few years. Special thanks to the Infusion Center, which became his second home for a while.
