Edward “Ed” McAnally

Mr. Edward “Ed” McAnally, 77, passed away on Thursday, January 15, 2015, in Atmore.
Mr. Edward was a native and life long resident of Atmore. Mr. McAnally was an avid fisherman, employee of Standard Furniture with 20 years of service and he owned and operated Thomacs Sand & Gravel. He attended The Church of the Living God. His first wife and mother of his children, Estelle McAnally and second wife, Marie McAnally, precede him in death.
Survivors include his three sons, Douglas Edward (Tiffany) McAnally of Birmingham, Gerald (Sharon) McAnally of Atmore, and Tim (Marcy) McAnally of Atmore; one stepson, David (Sabrina) Blackwell of Silverhill, AL; one stepdaughter, Cheryl (William) Bailey of Atmore; 22 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be Sunday, January 18, 2015, at 2:30 p.m. at the Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home with Rev. Earl Harrison and Rev. Judd Sessions officiating.
Burial will follow at the Oak Hill Cemetery.
Visitation will be Saturday, January 17, 2015, from 6-8 p.m. at the Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Caleb McAnally, Christopher Johnson, Tristan McAnally, Matt Barnett, Kevin Carter and Jimmy Morris.
Honorary pallbearers will be Kris McAnally, Nolan McAnally, Michael McAnally, Robert Harrison, Robert Lewis, Jimmy Morris, Maxwell Myrick, Tony Frazier, Mike Patience and Randy Frazier.

Michael Shawn Joseph II

Michael Shawn Joseph II was born on November 5, 1976, in Pensacola. He was brilliant, funny, and compassionate person to all. He was an adoring father; nothing warmed his heart more than spending time with his two boys. He loved basketball, was a Florida Gator fan, and loved fast cars. Michael dedicated many years as a project superintendent-quality control manager in road construction. People loved being around him because of his great sense of humor and he had a very generous spirit.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Jessica Parker Joseph. He is survived by his sons, John Michael and Jackson Tyler Joseph; mother, Mary Jo Joseph (husband-Thomas Sweeney); father, Michael Shawn Joseph (wife-Susie Joseph); brother, Tyler Harrison Joseph (wife-Rebecca Joseph); uncle, William Harrison Joseph (wife-Katherine Joseph) and his grandmother, Ruth Glass Joseph.
Visitation will be held at 10 a.m. at Faith Chapel Funeral Home South with a memorial service to begin at noon on Saturday, January 17, 2015, with Reverend Wayne Butts officiating.
Carolyn Hortense Moye

Mrs. Carolyn Hortense Moye, age 78 of Century, passed away on Thursday, January 15, 2015, at Century Care and Rehabilitation Center in Century.
Mrs. Moye was born in Century and spent her lifetime there as a homemaker. She was a member of Happy Valley Holiness Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, Claude and Leila Kelly Carnley; brothers, Johnny Edward Carnley and Lamar Feith; children Jospeh, Joanne and Randy Moye.
She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Pierce Moye of Century; son, Andy (Donna) Moye of Flomaton; daughters, Patricia (Larry) Johnson of East Brewton, Brenda Peterson of Century and Wanda (Everette) Brown of East Brewton; sister-in-law, Ann Carnley of Cantonment; daughter-in-law, Glenda Copeland of Century; seven grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, January 17, 2015, at Flomaton Funeral Home Chapel from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m.
Funeral services will be held on Sunday, January 18, 2015, at Flomaton Funeral Home Chapel at 2 p.m. with Rev. Raymond Wiggins and Rev. Tommy Lee Johnson officiating.
Interment will follow in McCurdy Cemetery in Century.
Pallbearers will be Everette Brown, Larry Johnson, Jason White, Josh Craft, Jeremy Markey, Donnie Gafford.

Addie Nelson Simmons

Janie Simmons was born to George and Addie Nelson December 24, 1926 in Mobile. She went to be with the Lord Wednesday, January 14, 2015. Above all, she loved God, her Lord and Savior, and was an active member of Cora Baptist Church for 70 years. She faithfully served in many of the church’s ministries and especially loved working with children. Her life was devoted to her family. She was a homemaker all her life and enjoyed gardening, cooking, and sewing. She was a caring friend and gracious member of her community and demonstrated this by her loving acts of kindness.
She was preceded in death by her parents; Howard E. Simmons, her husband of fifty-nine years; daughter Sherrie Simmons; son Stanley Simmons; great grandson Evan Wolfe; and brothers George, Donald, Leslie, and Vernon Nelson.
She is survived by her children: Nellie Ray (Roger) Dobson, Brenda Gail (Joe) Phillips, Ellis (Kym) Simmons, Eddie Wayne (Debbie) Simmons, and Teena (Bart) Hendricks; grandchildren: Matthew (Teresa) Dobson, Susanna Dobson, Howard Simmons III, Amber (Ron) Boisvert, Caleb Simmons, Joe D. (Rose) Phillips Jr., Meredith (Brent) Wolfe, Alayna Simmons, Conner Hendricks, and Jared Hendricks; step grandchildren: Ashlie (Jason) Hopgood; great grandchildren: Anna Marie Dobson, David Dobson, Logan Phillips, Scarlett Boutwell, Ian Boisvert, Gabby Phillips, and Elias Wolfe; step great grandchildren: Hillary Hendricks, Dakota Hopgood, Stormy Hopgood, Bailey Hopgood, and Abby Hendricks.
Visitation will be held Monday, January 19 at 10:00 a.m. in Cora Baptist Church immediately followed by services at 11:00.
Services will be officiated by Rev. Matthew Dobson and Rev. LaDon Hall. Pallbearers will be grandsons and grandsons-in-law.

Mrs. Grace Ellis Holt, age 88 of Flomaton, passed away on Wednesday, January 14, 2015, at Baptist Hospital in Pensacola.
Mrs. Holt was a native of Brewton and a resident of Flomaton for 65 years coming from Brewton. She was a homemaker and attended the Flomaton First Baptist Church and was preceded in death by her husband, Grady Leon Holt.
She is survived by her son, Jerry Lavon (Peggy) Holt of Grove Hill, AL; her daughter, Evelyn (Hugh) Anderson of Navarre; brother, Edward Ellis of the McCall Community, Brewton, AL; five grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 17, 2015, at Flomaton Funeral Home Chapel at 2 p.m. with Rev. Dustin Stockstill officiating.
Interment will follow in Flomaton Cemetery.

Mabel P. Gantner 81, of Walnut Hill, passed away January 9, 2015, at her residence. She was born November 9, 1933, to the late Occie and Shady Williams Phillips. She was a member of Walnut Hill Baptist Church. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Rick Gantner; and two brothers, J.E. Phillips and W.V. Phillips.
She is survived by her three sons, Dennnis (Doris) Dortch of Moses Lake, WA, Larry C. (Melinda) Gantner of Victorville, CA and Eric Gantner of Portland, OR; three daughters, Gail (Mark) Berube of Bold Springs, GA, Kay Lockard of Walnut Hill and Martha Ganey of Uriah; two sisters, Bernice Purvis of Bratt and Margaret (Jack) McCullough of Walnut Hill; 10 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren and one on the way.
Funeral services will be held Friday, January 16, 2015, at 11 a.m. from the Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Joe Gipson officiating.
Burial will follow in Walnut Hill Baptist Church Cemetery.

Velma Faye Cobb, 78 of Atmore, passed away Monday, January 12, 2015, in Bay Minette. She was a secretary. She was born in Byrneville on October 24, 1936. She is preceded in death by her mother, Minnie Roley.
Survivors include two daughters, Connie Amerson of Bratt and Patsy (Travis) Berry of Davisville; one sister, Brenda (Onoree) Steele of Davisville; six grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be Thursday, January 15, 2015, at 11 a.m. in Godwin Cemetery with Bro. Pete Amerson III officiating. Interment will follow in Godwin Cemetery.
Active pallbearers are Keith Berry, Pete Amerson III, Jason Seale, Frank Smarr, Travis Harrison and Wade Amerson.

Claude Michael “Mike” Bouler

Claude Michael “Mike” Bouler, 64 of Atmore, passed away January 12, 2015, at his residence. He was self-employed working in construction. He was born in Atmore on February 12, 1950, to the late Claude Alvin Bouler and Thelma Kirchharr Bouler. He was of the Baptist faith. He served in the USMC in the Vietnam War.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Patricia Sanks Bouler.
Survivors include his mother, Thelma Kirchharr Bouler of Atmore; three sons, Kyle(Tonya) Hadley of Monroeville, Mark (Jennifer) Hadley of Bay Minette and Mike(Ashley) Bouler of Bowling Green, KY; three daughters, Kelli (Thomas) Lane of Monroeville, Angela (Johnny) Fernandez of Miami, and Renee (John) McArthur of Fairhope; one brother, Ronald (Martha) Bouler of Mobile; 21 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; one niece and one nephew.
Services were held Wednesday, January 14, 2015, at Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Wayne McMillian and Bro. Robert Heard officiating.
Interment was in Perdido Baptist Church Cemetery.

Donald “Duke” Rouse

Donald “Duke” Rouse, 81, of Cantonment, went to be with the Lord on January 8, 2015. He honorably served his country as a U.S. Navy Seabee for 23 years. He is a veteran of the wars in Korean and Vietnam. After retiring from the Navy, Duke worked at Scotty’s Builders Supply for 15 years. He was a man of many skills and talents.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Ivan and Catherine Rouse and son, Dwight.
He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Eleanor; daughters, Donna and Terri; step-sons Paul, Jack, David, Robbie, Herman and Terry; step-daughters, Barb and Sandra; four step-daughters-in-law; one step-son-in-law; 12 step-grandchildren and one great-step-granddaughter.
Funeral services were held January 13, 2015, at Faith Chapel Funeral Home North with Pastor Carl Shiver officiating.
Interment will follow at Barrancas National Cemetery.

Rebecca Elizabeth Edmisten

Rebecca Elizabeth Edmisten, age 35 of Cantonment, passed away peacefully on January 11, 2015. Rebecca was a lifelong resident of Escambia County and attended Tate High School. She was also a member of the Tate Color Guard team. She worked as a legal assistant at the Office of the Public Defender in Pensacola.
Rebecca had a gentle nature. She was a devoted mother to her four sons, a loving daughter, sister and friend. Her proudest accomplishment was being a good mother to her treasured sons. She will be greatly missed.
She is survived by her father, Dr. Joe Edmisten; mother, Alice Harris; step-parents, Dr. Patricia Taylor Edmisten and Chris Jones; sons; Caleb Hart, Gage Hart, Isaiah Johnson and Jasper Johnson; siblings, Brook Edmisten Wood and family, Sharon Edmisten, Allen Edmisten and family, Sarah Edmisten O’Toole and family, and Damian Taylor and family.
A memorial service will be held at the Unitarian Universalist Church of Pensacola on Saturday January17, 2015 at 1 p.m.
