Robert Bush Creighton, Jr.

Robert Bush Creighton, Jr., age 64 of Cantonment, passed away Thursday, August 6, 2015. Robert was born April 21, 1951, in Pensacola. He graduated with the Class of 1969 from Tate High School and retired from International Paper after 42 years of service. He was a member of Cottage Hill United Methodist Church. He loved spending time with his family, Alabama football, hunting, fishing, spending time outdoors and being a member of Moose Lodge 557 where he loved to karaoke and Nascar #5.
Proceeding him in death is his father, Robert B. Creighton Sr.; mother, Mary C. Creighton; and nephew, Todd C. Wilson.
Survivors include his wife, Rose K. Creighton; daughter, Cyndie Creighton (Chris); son, Christopher Creighton; son, Robert B. Creighton III (Laura); daughter, Crystal Lusby; daughter, Nichole Wakeman; and special daughter-in-law, Angela Creighton; sister, Rachel C. Allen (Alton); sister, Bobbie Jean Wilson (Mark Baird); brother, James Leslie Creighton (Janie Woodfin); 10 grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Serving as pallbearers will be Shannon Respess, Richard Respess, Alvis Respess, Ned Wilson III, Edsel Allen and Tracy King.
Honorary pallbearers are Brett Creighton, Shawnn Creighton, Christopher L. Creighton, Ned Wilson Jr., Marvin Richburg, Sonny Holland, Mark Baird, Alton Allen and Leon Locklar.
Services were held at Faith Chapel North on Tuesday, August 11, 2015, with Doug Levins and Rev. Jimmy Cook officiating.
Interment was in Cottage Hill Community Cemetery in Cottage Hill.
The family would also like to express a special thanks to West Florida Cancer Center, Dr.Rami Owera and Dr. Irfan Ahmed for their caring, loving and compassionate care.

Mrs. Hazel Ruth Gresham, 71, passed away on Friday, August 7, 2015, in Pensacola.
Mrs. Gresham was a native of Hybart, AL and a resident of Flomaton since 1991. Mrs. Gresham was of the Holiness Faith. She is preceded in death by her husband, Carlton B. Gresham, Sr. and sister, Luvern Gafford.
Survivors include her two sons, Michael Wayne McGhee and James Nathan McGhee, both of Flomaton; one brother, Roger McMillian of Houston, TX; two sisters, Ann Mitchell of Pace and Mary Richards of Milton; five grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, August 12, 2015, at the Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home with Rev. Mike Grindle officiating.
Burial was in the McCurdy Cemetery.

Beverly Jean Corbett Mathews

Mrs. Beverly Jean Corbett Mathews, 67, passed away on Sunday, August 9, 2015, in McMinnville, TN.
Mrs. Mathews was a native of Oil City, PA, a resident of Atmore for the past 11 years and resided in McMinnville, TN for the past couple of months. Mrs. Mathews cared for the elderly and was a member of the Beulah Chapel Assembly of God. She is preceded in death by her father, mother and brother.
Survivors include her husband, A.J. Mathews of McMinnville; two sons, Dana Allen (Tracy) Mathews of Murfreesboro, TN and Scott Clyde (Denise) Mathews of Winston-Salem, NC; and two grandchildren, Daniel and Christopher.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, August 15, 2015, at 10 a.m. at the Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home with Rev. Earl Harrison and Rev. Eric Bryan officiating.
Burial will follow at the Oak Hill Cemetery.
Visitation will be held Saturday, August 15, 2015, from 9 a.m. until service time at 10 a.m. at the Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home.

Nancy “Sunshine” Frye

Nancy “Sunshine” Frye, 74, of Pensacola, passed away on Friday, July 31, 2015.
Nancy was born on November 15, 1940, in Pensacola to the late Hobert C. and Doris Parker.
In 1975 she started her own ceramic business in Honolulu, Hawaii and named it Sunshine Ceramics. After relocating to Pensacola in 1982 she continued her business until her death.
She was an artist of many talents. She was a painter, sculptor, doll maker, seamstress, and enjoyed teaching her skills to many others. She was adored by everyone. She was the type of person that never met a stranger and was the life of the party! Nancy enjoyed being surrounded by her family and friends.
She is preceded in death by her son, Edward C. Davis; parents; sister, Annette Preston; brother, David Parker; her two nieces, Diane Bedgood and Lucy Parker; and one nephew, Michael Preston.
This loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother is survived by her husband, Samuel H. Frye; children, Tonya J. (Eddie E.T.) Thibodeaux, Frank S. (Steven) Davis and Katherine M. (Clinton) Wombles; and two sisters, Marion Douglas and Linda (Jim) Cheek; seven grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, August 15, 2015, at Faith Chapel Funeral Home North with Reverend Bill Flannigan officiating.
Family will receive friends at 10 a.m. prior to services.

Mrs. Emmie Lou Smith, age 76, passed away Monday, August 10, 2015, at her Castleberry residence.
Mrs. Smith was born in Evergreen, AL and had been a lifelong resident of Castleberry. She worked as a supervisor at Judy Bond for over 30 years. She was of the Baptist faith.
Mrs. Smith was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Mr. Winton “Jack” Smith.
She is survived by a son, Stephen (Louann) Smith of Castleberry; three daughters, Jackie Wilson of Castleberry, Pam (Michael) Wilson of Gantt, AL, Debbie (Mike) Casalinuovo of Dozier, AL; one brother, Julius Middleton of Jay; two sisters, Mary Snell of Ashford, AL, and Brenda Gail Harrison of Jay; seven grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, August 13, 2015, at 2 p.m. from the chapel of Craver’s Funeral Home with Rev. William Joyner officiating.
Interment will follow in Union Cemetery.
Visitation will be held at Craver’s Funeral Home on Thursday, August 13, 2015, from 1 p.m. until service time.

Carolyn Garman Creighton

Carolyn Garman Creighton of Cantonment, passed away on Sunday, August 9, 2015. She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Carolyn was a bus driver for Escambia County School System for 26 years.
Carolyn is survived by her loving husband of 60 years, Gordon Creighton; daughters, Carol Lynne Sealey and Teresa Woods (George); son, Clay Creighton (Robin); sister, Barbara Jean Butler; brother, Ira Garman (Zelema); numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her daughter, Cheryl Ann O’Neal and a son, Reggie Creighton.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, August 12, 2015, at 11 a.m. at Faith Chapel North with Reverend Richard Phillips officiating.
Interment to follow at Cottage Hill Community Cemetery.

Mrs. Voncile Cannon, age 80 of Century, passed away on Thursday, August 6, 2015, at Jay Hospital.
Mrs. Cannon was a native of Jay and had spent her lifetime there. During her working years she worked as a nurse’s aide at Century Hospital and was of the Holiness faith.
She is survived by her daughter, Patricia (Daniel) Lister of Century; brother, W.L. (Voncile) Tyree of Century; and sister, Dorie (Larry) Hammond of Century.
Services were held on Sunday, August 9, 2015, at Flomaton Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Carl Wilson officiating.
Interment was in McCurdy Cemetery in Century.
Pallbearers were Robert Day, Billy Cox, Eddie Nelson, Joe Brown, Buddy Morris, and Randy Sheltra.

William “Bill” Thomas Dubose

William “Bill” Thomas Dubose, 79, born August 2, 1936, was called home by his Lord and Savior, Sunday August 2, 2015. He was surrounded by his devoted children and the very compassionate staffs of Joyce Goldenberg Residence affiliate of Covenant Hospice.
Bill was born and raised in Red Level, Alabama of Covington County. In the spring of 1955 he graduated from Red Level High School and shortly after his graduation he made the choice to enlist with the Army National Guard and after his training was stationed in Jacksonville, Florida. While there he met and married Lettie Josephine Delp and was a devoted loving husband to her during the brief time that God allowed them to have here on earth. She passed away February 3, 1967. However God did not mean for Bill to spend his days on earth alone. He once again blessed him with a beautiful woman to have as his wife. He married Clara Eleanor McGhee March 2, 1968. Shortly into their marriage they made the decision to move their family to Pensacola. And here is where they raised their children and resided until his passing.
Bill was forever the family man was a devoted husband and loving father to his kids. All of his family, parents, sisters, brothers, aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews, were always shown love and respect. He always wanted them all to know the importance of family. Bill was also a very loyal and caring friend to many. Always willing to lend a helping hand to those in need. He had a very big heart and it showed in his everyday life. Bill was also a very hard worker and was so thankful that through the examples in the home that hard work ethic was instilled in all three of his successful children. He loved to brag on them all given the opportunity.
Bill will also be remembered for having an unbelievable since of humor. Always telling a joke or planning a prank on someone, and always willing to laugh at himself as well. He enjoyed all sporting events and was an avid golfer for many years. When he moved to Monica Lane, he tried his hand at gardening and was quite a success. He became great friends with his neighbors and would love to sit out on the porch to have his morning coffee and conversation with whom ever showed up that morning, and normally someone did, because whoever it was, would surely learn something new with every talk. There were those in the neighborhood that often referred to him as the Mayor of Monica Lane, always wanting what was best for the neighborhood. He was all these things and so much more. His loss will forever be felt and all those that knew him will forever miss him.
Bill is proceeded in death by two wives, Lettie Josephine and Clara Eleanor; his father, Grady William Dubose; mother, Ethel Addie Webb Dubose; two sisters, Ruth Dubose Whatley, and Pearl Rudden Dubose Shannon; seven brothers, Alfred Dubose, Harmon Dubose, Earl Dubose, Roy Dubose, Coston Dubose, Hoyt Dubose, and Bearl Dubose; and also two sons, Ronnie Thomas Dubose and Charles Grady Dubose.
Memories of his life will forever be cherished by his three children, William Mack (Michelle) Dubose, Rebecca (Aaron) Turner, and Lisa Arnold; one sister, Betty Fay (Robert) Spence; six grandchildren, Melissa, Jennifer, Chasitie, Jordan, William Caul and Emily; and three great-grandchildren, Brandon, Clara, and Garrett Thomas.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, August 6, 2015, at Faith Chapel Funeral Home North with Scott Daniel officiating.
Burial will follow in Dozier Cemetery in Dozier, Alabama at 3:00 p.m.

Mr. Flowers was a native of Atmore and lifelong resident of Rabun. Mr. Flowers was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He was a member of the New Hope Community Church. He is preceded in death by his father, Edward Flowers; and sister, Tammy Carpenter.
Survivors include his mother, Nancy Barbarow of Perdido; wife, Betty Flowers of Rabun; two sons, Kevin Flowers of St. Cloud, FL and Jason (April) Hadley of Perdido; three daughters, Jennifer (Gino) Flowers of Ft. Walton, Shawanna (Tyrone) James of Bay Minette and Becky (Terry) Newsome of Perdido; two brothers, Malcolm (Cheryl) Harrelson of Perdido and Mikey (Shana) Harrelson of Atmore; two sisters, Diane Boatwright of Perdido and Susan (Ronnie) Paul of Rabun; 11 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Fred E. Ware, age 75 of Jay, passed away on August 3, 2015, in Jay. He retired from American Cyanamid after 33 years of service and was a member of the Jay Church of Christ. He also enjoyed woodworking and was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and brother.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Lena Ware; former wife and mother of Deana and Anthony Ware, Kay Mixon Ware; and sisters, Florence Metcafe and Violet Baxley.
He is survived by his wife, Melba Ware; daughter, Deana (John) Pittman; son, Anthony Ware; son, Robert (Maureen) Griffin; daughter, Cheryl (Tom) Black; sisters, Lessie Adams and Wilena Getchell; brothers, Frank Ware, Carlton Ware and John (Simonne) Ware; grandchildren, Haley, Riley, and Nick Pittman; Bryan and Ashley Black and Andrew, Matt, Josh, Jill, and Angelyn; two great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, August 6, 2015, from 5 p.m. until 6 p.m. at Jay Funeral Home.
Funeral services will begin at 6 p.m. with Mike Mefford officiating services.
Burial will be at Cora Baptist Church Cemetery.
