Purvis Boyington

Mr. Purvis Boyington, 71, passed away on Friday, October 16, 2015, in Stockton, Alabama.
Mr. Boyington was a native of Citronelle, Alabama, former resident of Bay Minette, where he spent most of his life, and he resided in Stockton. Mr. Boyington worked for AAA Cooper Transportation-Standard Furniture. He attended the Full Power Holiness Church. He is preceded in death by his parents, Hayward and Pearl Boyington; daughter, Susan Jane Boyington; three brothers, Charles, O’Neal and Earl Boyington; sister, Marie Frazier; and granddaughter, Kristin Boyington.
Survivors include his wife, Jeannie Boyington of Stockton; one son, Nolan Boyington of Ft. Worth, TX; three daughters, Rhonda Boyington of Bay Minette, Karen Phillips of Century and Jonni Boyington of Fairhope; two brothers, Johnny Boyington of Bay Minette and Hayward Boyington, Jr. of Bay Minette; one sister, Ellarine Stewart of Bay Minette; nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, October 20, 2015, at the Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home with Sis. Helen Stewart officiating.
Burial was in the Alabama State Veterans Memorial Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Shawn Stuckey, Jonathan Boyington, Tyler White, B.K. Brown, Nikki Boyington and Timmy Kirkland.
Honorary pallbearers were Anthony Stuckey and Kevin Boyington.
In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to the Petty Funeral Homes for funeral expenses.

Dewey Leroy McGhee

Dewey Leroy McGhee, 72 of Poarch, passed away Friday, October 16, 2015, at his residence. He was an installer with Tele-Communication. He retired from AT&T in 1995 after 35 years of service, during that time he served on the Tribal Council from 1973 to 1979 and 1985 to 1986. He also was contracted out with Lucent Technologies where he worked overseas. He was born on November 7, 1942, in Poarch, to the late Chief Calvin William and Joyce Ingram McGhee.
He is preceded in death by brothers, Roy McGhee, Curtis McGhee, Julius Frank McGhee and Houston McGhee; grand-daughter, Feather Marie McGhee.
Survivors include his wife, Olivette McGhee of Poarch; sons and daughters, Calvin Lynn (Patsy) McGhee of Atmore, Althea McGhee (Frankie) Bell of Atmore; William Tyler (Cynthia) McGhee of Burke, VA.; Natasha McGhee (Aubrey) Rolin of Atmore; 10 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.
Services were held Monday, October 19, 2015, from the Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Mike Absher officiating.
Interment was in New Home Cemetery.
Active pallbearers were Thunder McGhee, Brent Bell, Kyler McGlothren, Kyle Bennett, James T. Martin and Phillip Martin.
Honorary pallbearers are Buck Smith, Kent McGhee, Mickey Wilson, Glen Barrington, Terry Hupp and Bruce Vickery.

William M. “Bill” Brown, Sr.

William M. “Bill” Brown, Sr. 86 of Atmore, passed away Monday, October 19, 2015, in Atmore. He was a retired cattlemen and farmer born in Evergreen, AL on November 10, 1928 to the late Benjamin Horace and Carrie Elizabeth Rabon Brown. He was past President of The Alabama Cattlemen’s Association and a member of the First Baptist Church of Atmore.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Jeanette P. Brown and son, William M. “Billy” Brown, Jr.
Survivors include three sons, James M. “Jimmy” (Shelle) Brown of Atmore, Richard (Donna) Brown of Birmingham and Gary (Linda) Brown of Warrior, AL; two sisters, Sara (Ken) Pressley of Montgomery and Margie Evens of Evergreen; six grandchildren, Josh, Jessie, Megan, Dakota, Beth, and C.J.; and seven great-grandchildren.
Services will be held Thursday, October 22, 2015, at 2 p.m. from The First Baptist Church of Atmore with Rev. Arnold Hendrix officiating.
Interment will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery.
Family will receive friends Wednesday, October 21, 2015, at Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m.

Lillian Marie Moye, 86 of Atmore, passed away Tuesday, October 13, 2015, at her residence. She was a homemaker, born in Jasper, AL on January 8, 1929. She was a member of Sardis Baptist Church.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Alfred Moye; and son, Douglas Moye.
Survivors include two sons, Wiley Moye and Robert Earl (Jenny) Moye all of Atmore; five grandchildren, Kimberly Hudson, Steven Moye, Wayne Moye, Craig Moye and Chris Moye; and a host of great-grandchildren.
Services were held Friday, October 16, 2015, from the Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Earl Greene officiating.
Interment will follow in Sardis Baptist Cemetery.

Mrs. Bridgette Presley Plemons, 42, passed away on Saturday, October 17, 2015, in Loxley.
Mrs. Plemons was a native of Flomaton, former resident of Foley and resided in Loxley, for the past two years. Mrs. Plemons was a loving wife, mother, sister and friend. She loved everyone and was of the Christian faith.
Survivors include her father, Donald Lee Presley of Atmore; mother, Brenda Presley of Summerdale; husband, Rodney Plemons of Loxley; two sons, Robert Charles Presley of Kaplan, LA and John Dillon Plemons of Greenwood, SC; one daughter, Shania Plemons of Loxley; four brothers, Mikeal Ryan Presley of Marietta, GA, Darin Gregory Presley of Pace, Rodney Stewart Presley of Summerdale and Jason Forrest Presley of Summerdale; and one sister, Carol Elaine Presley Reynolds of Jacksonville, FL.
Visitation will be Tuesday, October 20, 2015, from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. at the Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home.

Willis Nelson, Jr., age 65 of Summerdale, went to be with our Heavenly Father on October 17, 2015. Jr was born May 25, 1950, to Willis Nelson, Sr. and Theda Nelson who preceded him in death.
He is survived by his wife, Monnie Nelson; two sons, Curtis Shane Wolfe of Pensacola and Christopher Shawn Nelson, Sr. of Milton; three daughters, Teresa Fountain of Pensacola, Summer Henry and Karlee Nelson of Summerdale; one sister, Wanda Nelson of Milton; four grandchildren, Kera York and Devin Blackwell of Pensacola, Maleah and Christopher Shawn Nelson , Jr. of Milton; and numerous cousins and friends; and two very special cousins who were with him at the time of his passing, Syble Allen of Mobile and Roy (Barbara) Simmons of Pace.
The family requests in lieu of Flowers donations be made to The American Heart Association or The Rheumatoid Arthritis Foundation in his name as he is being cremated. His children and sister will be having a Memorial Service to honor him in his hometown on Wednesday, October 21, from 4 p.m. until 5:30 p.m with service starting at 4:45 p.m. at True Grace Fellowship Church on Willard Norris Road, in Milton. Rev. Alton Nixon will be officiating.
The family requests to come casual and if you have an Alabama or Harley t-shirt to please wear it.
Honorary pallbearers will be his closest friends, Roy Simmons, Ken Bedgood, Larry Mc Allister, Harland Cotton and James Cotton.
Joseph “Joe” L. Nezovich

Joseph “Joe” L. Nezovich passed away on October 13, 2015, at the age of 64. Joe was born in Pensacola on October 13, 1951, to Edward and Maxine Nezovich. Joe spent most of his life as a maintenance repair man and HVAC technician. He lived his early life amongst the heart of Pensacola and it was there that he met his wife of 37 years, Donna. Joe and Donna would eventually move to the far north end of the county to what he would call “his little piece of God’s country.” Joe was a very courteous and loving man, always willing to fix something broken for someone in need. Sometimes that “something” was a physical object, sometimes it was a broken heart or soul. Joe was a “handyman” in many ways and in many lives. He was a caring and loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend. His family was his life. And whether you had known him your whole life, or just met him in passing, he still treated you as family.
Joe was preceded in death by his father, Edward Nezovich; and his children, Kimberly and Joseph Nezovich.
Joe is survived by his wife, Donna; his son, Jody (Taylor) Nezovich; his grandsons, Caleb and Silas Nezovich; his mother, Maxine Nezovich; his three brothers, Edward Nezovich, Pete Nezovich, and Billy (Ann) Nezovich; his two sisters, Nancy Robinson and Dorothy Bivens; numerous nieces and nephews; and several other family members and loved ones.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, October 17, 2015, from 1 p.m. until 2 p.m. at Faith Chapel Funeral Home North, followed immediately by the funeral service.
Burial will follow in Ray’s Chapel Cemetery in McDavid.

Vivian Olene Evers Fountain 86, of Canoe, passed away on October 12, 2015, in Pensacola. She was born on August 30, 1929, in Robinsonville, AL to the late James “Louis” and Nellie Daw Evers. She is preceded in death by her parents; brother, James Earl Evers; husband, Robert “Bob” Wilson Fountain; and son-in-law, Merrill Ledford. She was a member of First Assembly of God in Atmore.
She is survived by her sons, Kenneth (Wanda) Fountain of Frisco City, Dudley (Sheila) Fountain of Canoe, Glenn (Debbie) Fountain of Canoe, and Tony (Sherry) Fountain of Spanish Fort; daughters, Sybil (Leonard) Sowell of Loganville, GA, Brenda (Paul) Metts of Robinsonville and Wanda Ledford of Canoe; one brother, Wilber (Lois) Evers of Bay Minette; and two sisters, Thelma Marshall of Canoe and Pearl Falls of Live Oak, FL; 13 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Thursday, October 15, 2015, at the First Assembly of God in Atmore with Bro. Don Davis and Rev. Wanda Fountain officiating.
Burial was in Hall Cemetery in Canoe.

Betty J. Harper went home to be with our Lord on Monday, October 12, 2015. Betty was born June 26, 1930, to Walter Arick and Naomi Robinson Arick in Columbus, Ohio. She moved to Pensacola, FL in 1970 where she continued to raise her family.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Nelson Hane; and her second husband, Delbert “Red” Harper, Jr.; son, Charles Hane; daughters-in-law, Sherry Hane and Cheety Hane; and son-in-law, David Reeves.
She is survived by her children, Nelson (Nettie) Hane, Kenny (Donna) Hane, Diana (JR) Howard, Carol Reeves, Sandy (Doug) Whitfield; 20 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; and two very special friends Ronnie and Diane Hemby.
Our family would like to thank Dr. Miley and Covenant Hospice for all their wonderful care to our mom.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, October 16, 2015, at Faith Chapel Funeral Home North.
Burial will follow in Gonzalez United Methodist Church Cemetery.

Jacqueline “Jackie” Ann Diederich Swain

Jacqueline “Jackie” Ann Diederich Swain, 81, of Cantonment, died Sunday, October 11, 2015. Jackie was born in Garrett, IN and moved to Pensacola 44 years ago. She worked as a teacher’s aide at Ensley Elementary for many years. Jackie was also a Girl Scout leader and a board member for both Cantonment Baseball and Football.
Jackie is preceded in death by her loving husband, Robert Louis Swain, Jr.; her parents, Herman Diederich and Anna Simpson Diederich; and two sisters, Lorreta Raub and Barbara Hoffmeyer.
She is survived by her son, Christopher Swain of Cantonment; four daughters, Melissa Swain Jacobs of Pensacola, Linda (Charlie) Martz of Corunna, IN, Lorie (Scott) Romero of IN, and Christine Lott of Foley, AL; Gregory Jacobs, who she considered a son; 11 grandchildren, Rachel (Nate) Schermerhorn of Kendallville, IN, Nicklaus (Cyndi) Martz of Oak Park, IL, Tyler (Rachel) Martz of Auburn, IN, Mariah (Austin) Miller of Corunna, IN, Maria and Olivia Romero of IN, Christian, Braedan, and Noah Jacobs of Cantonment, Kaylee Swain of Pensacola, and Ava Berroa of Pace; and four great-grandchildren, Myles and Margo Martz of Oak Park, IL and Grant and Gabriella Schermerhorn of Kendallville, IN.
Jackie was a loving mother and a super Nana.
