Linda Wilson Farrior

Linda Wilson Farrior, 73, beloved wife, mother, and grandmother returned to her heavenly home on Sunday, August 30, 2015 after a valiant battle with a lengthy illness. Her devotion to her family and her firm belief in God supported her in her struggle and ultimately gave her peace.
Known affectionately as “Maw Maw”, she was a lifelong resident of Pensacola. As an active member of West Pensacola Baptist she sponsored and supported missionary efforts all over the world. She loved traveling, cooking, and sewing, but many of her happiest times were spent in the company of her family and friends.
She was welcomed home by her father, Chesley Wilson; mother, Elizabeth Wilson Bowling; and son, Daniel Farrior.
She leaves to cherish her memory, her loving husband of 31 years, Jerry Farrior; sons, Michael Lee, Robert “Rob” (Joy) Lee, and Phillip (Amanda) Farrior; sister, Faye (Joe) Nicholson; brother, Jack (Janet) Wilson; and step-father, Gary Bowling. She also had a very special place in her heart for her adult grandchildren, Jesse, Courtney (Richard), David, and Krista; five adolescent grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, September 5, 2015, at Faith Chapel Funeral Home North with Pastor Jeff Walker officiating.
Pallbearers will be Randy Nicholson, Kevin Nicholson, Phillip Farrior, Jesse Lee, Richard Lassitter, David Lee.
Honorary pallbearer is Glenn Nicholson.

Larry Allen Gibbs

Larry Allen Gibbs passed away on September 4, 2015. He was 69 years old.
He is survived by his wife Debbie; daughters, Keisha Legerton (Gregg) of Mt. Pleasant, SC, and Leisha Strickland of Daphne; step-daughter, Amy Ramsey (Jerry) of Gulf Shores; step-granddaughter, Macey Ramsey of Gulf Shores; as well as other grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was born in and was a longtime resident of Atmore. Larry joined the US Marine Corps in May 1969. He served his country in Vietnam, where he achieved the rank of Corporal. Larry was honorably discharged from military service in May1971.
After returning from Vietnam, Larry served the City of Atmore through the Atmore Police Department as a patrolman. He was promoted to Patrol Sergeant in 1976 and to Detective Sergeant in 1981, becoming Atmore’s first detective. Larry developed and headed the first Detective Division and was promoted to Detective Lieutenant in 1984. In 1988, Larry was recruited by the Daphne Police Department to serve as a Detective Sergeant and to develop the first Detective Division for Daphne, AL. In 1995, after a 26-year career, Larry retired from Law Enforcement. After retirement, Larry moved to Gulf Shores where he enjoyed the slower pace of beach life, and served as security for local business establishments, as well as Gulf State Park. Larry was a proud Lifetime Member of the National Rifle Association. In lieu of flowers, donations to the NRA on his behalf would be appreciated.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, September 6, 2015, at 2 p.m. from the Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Arnold Hendrix officiating.
Full Military Honors will be bestowed prior to his internment at Oak Hill Cemetery on Sunday, September 6, 2015.
Visitation will be held Sunday, September 6, 2015, from 1:30 p.m. until service time at 2 p.m. from the Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home.

Eileen Elizabeth Cywanowicz

Eileen Elizabeth Cywanowicz, age 90, of Pensacola, passed away peacefully at home on September 1, 2015. She was born in Lawrence, MA to the late Joseph and Florence Jean and moved to Pensacola in 1965. Eileen’s joys were her passion for volunteering at the USO and the Pensacola Beach Visitors Center, which she did until her passing. She was a long time church and choir member at St. Josephs Catholic Church. Eileen retired from nursing at the Naval Hospital of Pensacola.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Joseph; son, John; her parents, stepmother, Yvonne Jean; and her sister, Louise White.
Eileen is survived by her daughter, Lynda; brother, Donald (Lee) Jean; nieces Donna and Sandy; and her nephew Kraige.
A Memorial mass will be held Friday, September 11, 2015, at 11 a.m. at St. Josephs Catholic Church, 140 W Government St in Pensacola.
A private cremation was entrusted to Faith Chapel South.

Melvin L. Hiebert

Melvin L. Hiebert, 79, of Walnut Hill, passed away August 30, 2015, in Seattle, Washington while visiting in the area. He was born on August 3, 1936, to the late Peter G. and Lucretia Holdeman Hiebert in Hillsboro, Kansas. He is preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Kathryn Hiebert; son, David Hiebert; two sisters, Zelda Havlik and Viola Fast. He was a farmer most of his life, a missionary to Mexico and Guatemala and was a member of the Walnut Hill Mennonite Church.
He is survived by his wife, Hilda Lara Hiebert of Walnut Hill; two sons, Steve (Lynette) Hiebert of Walnut Hill and Kendall (Rhonda) Hiebert of Arcadia, FL; one brother, Byron (Louise) Hiebert of El Campo, TX; three sisters, Myra Street of Dayton, TX, Esther Penner of Walker, MO and Merita (Willard) Koehn of Wilcox, AZ; and five grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, September 5, 2015, at 10 a.m. from the Walnut Hill Mennonite Church with burial in Walnut Hill Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be held Friday, September 4, 2015, from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. from the Walnut Hill Mennonite Church.

Albert Alex “Al” Breceda, Jr.

Mr. Albert Alex “Al” Breceda, Jr. age 78, passed away on Wednesday, September 2, 2015, at his Atmore residence.
Mr. Breceda was born in Santa Monica, CA and had been a resident of Atmore for the past 11 years. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran. During his working years, he worked in aircraft maintenance. Mr. Breceda was a member of New Home Apostolic Church.
He is survived by his wife, Diane Breceda of Atmore; his mother, Betty Sandubale of Atmore; son, Rev. Steve (Martha) Breceda of Atmore; two daughters, Brenda Breceda of Atmore and Sandra Breceda of Culver City, CA; one sister, Gloria Castille of New Mexico; two grandchildren, Rosie Boyet and Haley Centers; and one great-grandchild, Liza Centers.
Funeral services are incomplete at this time and will be announced by Craver’s Funeral Home.

Sharon Louise Cartwright, 61, of Cantonment, passed away on Tuesday, September 1, 2015. Sharon was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother who was loved by all who were privileged to know her.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Frank Speed and Louise Boutwell Speed.
Sharon is survived by her loving husband of 44 years, Kenneth “Kenny” Cartwright; four sons, Darrel, Clinton (Alisha), Chipley (Jennifer), and Wesley (Shantell) Cartwright; 17 grandchildren; four brothers; one sister; and numerous family and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, September 4, 2015, at Faith Chapel Funeral Home North with Rev. Jimmy Cook officiating.
Burial will follow in Pensacola Memorial Gardens Cemetery at 12 p.m.

Juanita Ingram, 85 of Atmore, passed away Sunday, August 30, 2015, in Pensacola. She was a cook with Escambia County High School. She was born on October 25, 1929, to the late Earnest L. and Annie Shirley White. She was a member of the Presley Street Baptist Church.
Survivors include two sons, Ricky (Merilla) Ingram of Church Pt., LA and Randy (Melissa) Ingram of Atmore; one daughter, Rita (David) Lowery of Gardendale, AL; one brother, Don (Diane) White of Robertsdale; seven grandchildren, Bo Ingram, Zach Ingram, Caleb Ingram, Cory Low, Evan Low, Jessica Ingram and Tyson Lambert.
Services will be held Saturday, September 5, 2015, at 3:30 p.m. from Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Willie Olsbey officiating.
Interment will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery.

Bertha Verdelia Daugette Sexton “Boots”

Boots Sexton, age 83, of Jay, passed away with her family at her side on August 30, 2015. Boots was born in Canoe, Alabama on September 14, 1931. She was a long time resident of Orlando and Jay, but lived in many different states in her 83 years. Her favorite things were quilting, spending time with her family, picking up seashells, and baking. She spent a lifetime putting all others before herself and never once asked for anything in return.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Lawrence and Mildred Daugette; her husband, William Sexton Sr.; sons, William Sexton Jr. and Mickey Ray McNabb; and daughter, Susan Jean McNabb.
She is survived by her children, Wendell McNabb and Michael McNabb, both of New Orleans, Louisiana, Don (Merina) McNabb of Levittown, Pennsylvania, Jeanne (Moo) Brown of Jay, Rick (Ilene) Sexton of Hemet, California, and Jeannie (Russ) Johnson of Urbana, Iowa. She is also survived by her brothers, Bruce (Edna) Daugett of Milton and Ray (Sarah) Daugette of Molino; her sister, Peggy Lindsey of Murrieta, California; as well as 16 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren.
A visitation will be held from 1 p.m. until 2 p.m. on Wednesday, September 2, 2015, at Jay Funeral Home.
Funeral services will start at 2 p.m. with Chip Fox officiating.
Burial will follow at Canoe United Methodist Church Cemetery in Canoe.
Active pallbearers will be Don Daugette, Jimmie Lindsey, Jeremy Sexton, Clay Brown, Robert McNabb or Moo Brown.

David Tyler Palmer

Mr. David Tyler Palmer, age 17, of Bullard Road Milton, passed away Sunday, August 30, 2015, from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.
Tyler was born in Pensacola and was a resident of Milton. He was a senior at Jay High School. Tyler loved to hunt and fish and was an avid Alabama fan. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Joseph Carl Palmer.
He is survived by his parents, Shannon and Denise Palmer of Milton; a brother, Johnathan Palmer of Milton; paternal grandmother, Betty Palmer of Milton; maternal grandparents, Wayne and Marie Johnson of Baker; maternal great-grandmother, Margie Johnson of Century; his girlfriend, Alaina Smith of Jay; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, September 3, 2015, at 10:30 a.m. at True Worship Assembly of God in Berrydale with Rev. Adam Peterson and Rev. Mike Adams officiating. Interment will follow in Bradley Cemetery.
Visitation will be held at True Worship Assembly of God on Wednesday from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m.

John Truman Sheffield

He was born in McDavid on January 20, 1946, to Samuel Bernard Sheffield, Sr. and Florence Catherine Few Sheffield.
John graduated from Auburn University with a Mechanical Engineering Degree. He also received his Masters in Business Administration from the University of West Florida. He worked for Monsanto/Solutia for 35 years where he served in various leadership positions.
John was a member of the First Baptist Church of Greenwood, where he served as a deacon, was active on many church committees and was a member of the Bowers Sunday School Class. John volunteered his time toward various community mission projects. He was a Mason with the Cantonment Lodge in Florida. John also served as a Board Member and former Chairman on the Piedmont Technical College Foundation. In addition to being an avid hunter and golfer, he loved his Auburn football, but not nearly as much as his family. John was a dedicated and loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend.
In addition to his wife, John is survived by his son, Geddes Dowling Anderson, Jr. and wife, Marla, of Jacksonville; daughter, Nancy Catherine Sheffield Kleiner and husband, Jonas, of Charleston, SC; five grandchildren, Amelia Alma, Maryann Dowling, and Cora Nancy of Jacksonville and Lila Marin and Samuel Louis of Charleston, SC; sister, Carolyn S. Milligan and husband, Wayne, of Cantonment; and he also shared a special brotherly friendship with Charles H. Herndon, III.
Following a private burial, the memorial service was held at the First Baptist Church Fellowship Hall, with Dr. Tony Hopkins officiating. The family received visitors directly after the service.
