Jason Bradley Tolbert, Jr.

Mr. Jason Bradley Tolbert, Jr. (Man), age 19, of Atmore, passed away Monday, October 5, 2015, in a vehicle accident. Jason was a 2015 graduate of Escambia County High School. He was employed at G.A. West in Mobile, where he starting working right out of high school. He was also in welding classes at Jefferson Davis Community College. Jason loved big, loud, fast trucks, mud riding, loud music, helping people, and spending time with friends.
Jason was preceded in death by two grandfathers, Harry Thomas Tolbert, and Larry Walker Paul, Sr.; and Godfather, Buddy Peavy.
Mr. Jason was survived by his father and mother, Brad and Michelle Tolbert of Atmore; one brother, Jordan Tolbert of Atmore; and one sister, Jaclyn Tolbert of Atmore; two grandmothers, Patricia Tolbert of Little River, AL and Lorraine Paul of Perdido; one uncle and aunt, Larry Paul and Stephanie Kendrick of Atmore; two cousins, Deidra Paul and Austin Kendrick of Atmore; his Godmother, Wanda Peavy of Little River; his girlfriend, Dallas Lindsey of Lottie; and many, many other uncles, aunts, and cousins as well as many friends.
Funeral services will be Saturday, October 10, 2015, at 10 a.m. at the Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home with Rev. D.L. Harville, Bro Ray Harville and Sis. Helen Stewart officiating.
Burial will follow at the Stockton Memorial Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Jordan Tolbert, Buzzy Jordan, Jacob Bailey, Blake Young, Jacob Gibbs, Kyle Hinson, Aaron Lambeth, Canyon Moye, Clay Walker and Bill Hastings.
Honorary pallbearers will be a host of friends.

Elizabeth Ann Hobbs Prater

Mrs. Elizabeth Ann Hobbs Prater, 70, passed away on Wednesday, October 7, 2015, in Pensacola.
Mrs. Prater was a native of Atmore, and a resident of Robinsonville most of her life. Mrs. Prater was a PCI Clinical Nurse for 20 years. She used her excellent nurse saved a lady’s life in a restaurant. She was a loving wife, greatest mother in the world, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister. She is preceded in death by her parents, Clifton and Alice Hobbs; and a son, Ronald Lynn “Ronnie” Prater.
Survivors include her husband, Oliver Prater of Robinsville; two sons, Donnie (Mary) Prater of Opelika, AL and Keith Prater of Montgomery; one daughter, Kimberly “Kim” Ann Vance (Jimmy Ashley) of Atmore; two sisters, Gayle (Buddy) Byrd of Davisville and Barbara (Charles) Dorriety of Robinsonville; three grandchildren, Derek Vance, Caroline Prater and Kyle Ashley; and one great-grandchild, Landon Ashley.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, October 10, 2015, at 3 p.m. at the Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home with Rev. Doug Odom officiating.
Burial will follow at the Oak Hill Cemetery.

Infant Kyndall Renea McGhee was born on September 21, 2015, and passed away on October 2, 2015, in Pensacola. She was preceded in death by her great-grandparents, Jim Blackmon, Mal McGhee and Fay Jackson.
Survivors include her father and mother, Nick McGhee and Kathy Pendleton of Atmore; grandparents, Mal and Tami McGhee of Atmore and John and Tonyia Pendleton of Pensacola; great-grandparents, Martha Jane Jackson of Atmore, Barbara and Ronnie Hughes of Stockton, AL, Willis and Beatrice Perry of New York, Charlene and Jimmy Leonard of Cleveland, AL, Bill and Vicki Pfeiffer of Milton and Ginny Parker of Pensacola; two uncles, Josh (Brittany) Martin of McCullough and John Pendleton II of Pensacola; and two aunts, Malori McGhee of McCullough and Crystal (Mathew) Mason of Pensacola.
Funeral services were held Monday, October 5, 2015, at the Poarch Community Church with Rev. Wesley Alvarez officiating.
Burial was at the Judson Creek Indian Cemetery.

Willie Lois McGhee Fore

Willie Lois McGhee Fore, 72 of Atmore, departed this life on Tuesday October 6, 2015, in Mobile. Mrs. Fore was employed by Community Action Agency as a Family Service worker with Freemanville Headstart. She was a member of United Pentecostal Church of Atmore and was also a song leader for the church. She was a member of the Poarch Band of Creek Indians.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Kinzy and Ethel McGhee; first husband, Kenneth Ray Corey; and brother, Raymond McGhee.
She is survived by her husband, James Stephen Fore of Robinsonville; three sons, Cecil Ray (Jeanne) Corey of Poarch, Harold Glen (Debbie) Corey , Edward “Eddie” Phillip (Cassie) Fore all of Robinsonville; one brother, Joe Frank (Dorothy) McGhee of Atmore; three sisters, Mary Stella Gibbs of Atmore, Carolyn Rackard of Poarch, Betty Ruth (Gene) Sheppard of Dothan; sister-in-law, Mary Jane McGhee of Poarch; grandsons, Caleb Corey and Cody Nall; granddaughters, Megan Corey, Caitlyn Corey, Leandra Corey, Parker Corey, Kaylen Fore, Kenzie Fore; great-grandchildren, Kendall Corey and Aurora Rosabell Lopez; nephews, David Gibbs, Chet McGhee, Ken McGhee, Jason Rackard and Jeremy Rackard; nieces, Rosemary Powell, Gina Simmons, DeeDee Ward, and over 30 foster children; and three special friends, Evelyn Padgett, Vicki Corey and Amanda Lane.

Ida Williamson Bell, 79 of Flomaton, passed away Monday, October 5, 2015, in Jay. She was retired from Monsanto as a Draw Twist Operator. She was born in Bratt, on May 24, 1936, to the late E.T. and Lillie Mae Black Williamson. She was a constant prayer warrior for most of us.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Frank Bell; son, Daniel Frank Bell; and two sisters, Mary Duffy and Louise Brantley.
She is survived by two daughters, Virian Bell (James) Mathis of Century and Brenda Bell (Billy) Cox of McDavid; two brothers, George Williamson and Pete Williamson; one sister, Gracie Mae Gunn; loving brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Ray and Anice Bell; five grandchildren, Becky (Darrell) Lambeth, Rachael (Ben) Flores, Autumn (Shawn) Fleming, Summer (Ricky) Payne, and Michael (Amber) Cox; five great-grandchildren, Olivia, McKenna, Ava, Noah, Jackson, and Baby Cox…on the way; numerous nieces and nephews that were as close as children.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, October 8, 2015, at 2:30 p.m. from the Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Bo Bell and Bro. Jim Moore officiating.
Interment will follow in Sardis Baptist Church Cemetery.

Charity Bell Koehn Smith, 94, of Walnut Hill, passed away Sunday, October 4, 2015, Atmore. She was a homemaker. She was born in Ithaca, MI on March 29, 1921, to the late Leland and Hanna Johnson Eicher.
She is preceded in death by her husbands, Menno Koehn and Waymon Smith; one brother, Newell Eicher; and one sister, Mildred Eicher.
Survivors include two sons, Richard (Wilma) Koehn of Walnut Hill and Lynn Koehn of Independence, LA; two daughters, Barbara (John) Loewen of Walnut Hill and Alice (Norman) Keator of Albuquerque, NM; four brothers, Ward (Dolly) Eicher of Brooksville, MS, William (Lois) Eicher, Wallace (Judy) Eicher and Wendell (Mary) Eicher, all of Walnut Hill; three sisters, Eunice (Jake) Smith of Brooksville, MS, Althea Dick, and Imo (Wilbert) Peters, all of Walnut Hill; 16 grandchildren; 42 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
Services will be held Thursday, October, 8, 2015, at 10 a.m. from the Walnut Hill Mennonite Church with Rev. Carlos Koehn, Rev. Mike Koehn and Rev. Galen Harms officiating.
Interment will follow in Walnut Hill Memorial Gardens.

Mrs. Lina Carrie Showalter, age 87, passed away Saturday, October 3, 2015.
Mrs. Showalter was born in Gaskin, FL, and had been a resident of Century since 1957. During her working years she was the director of nursing at Abernathy Memorial Hospital in Flomaton. She was a member of Flomaton First Baptist Church and the Alger Sullivan Historical Society. Mrs. Showalter was preceded in death by her husband, William Nathaniel Showalter, II.
She is survived by a son, William Nathaniel Showalter, III and wife Angela of Baltimore, MD; three daughters, Malinda Williford and husband Ben of Spanish Fort, AL, Marina Chancery and husband Roy of Brewton and Melanie Killam and husband Gary of Century; one sister, Lita Jones and husband Tuck of Holt, FL; 10 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Flomaton First Baptist Church on Saturday, October 10, 2015, at 1 p.m. with Rev. Jerry Keese and Rev. Dustin Stockstill officiating. Interment will follow in Flomaton Cemetery.
Visitation will be held at Flomaton First Baptist Church on Friday, October 9 from 4-7 p.m.

Roberta Ann Joslin, beloved mother, daughter, sister and grandmother, entered into the presence her heavenly Father on Monday, September 28, 2015, surrounded by her loved ones, after a courageous two-year battle with cancer. She was born December 11, 1954, in Corona, California. Roberta’s family moved to Pensacola in 1962. After Roberta’s father retired from the Navy, the family owned and operated the Tastee Freeze and the Gulf Coast Nursery on Mobile Highway for many years.
Roberta’s life was filled with love and her trademark characteristic was her boundless kindness and generosity. Every friend and family member can recount a story when she helped them in a time of need, never seeking anything in return. She was the cornerstone of her family, adored her children and grandchildren, and gave selflessly, sacrificing her own needs to fulfill those of others.
Her daughter described her as “my hero, my rock, and the sweetest, strongest person I’ll ever know.” Roberta’s kindness and tender heart encompassed not only close friends and family, but animals as well. Her family enjoys telling the story of the time she stopped traffic to rescue a turtle in the middle of the highway, one of many anecdotes that demonstrates the sweet spirit she possessed.
Roberta loved spending time outdoors and particularly loved the beach. She could spend hours walking the shoreline looking for shells. After her cancer diagnosis, Roberta was determined to live life to the fullest and spend as much time as possible with her family. She took three trips to Nebraska while battling cancer to visit family and build memories. In 2014, she traveled to Key West with her daughter and grandchildren, where she went deep-sea fishing and snorkeled the coral reefs off shore with her grandchildren. Her courage, zest for life, optimism and kindness will never be forgotten by those she loved and who loved her.
Roberta is survived by her parents, Floyd and Dorothy Joslin of Wausa, NE; son, Robert Heath of Milton and his wife Jennifer and grandchildren, Jasmin, Jordan, Blake, Bryce, Sarah and Robin; daughter, Mitzi LaCoste of Chumuckla and her husband Scott and grandchildren, Alexis, Nathan, Wyatt and Cameron; siblings, Hope and her husband, Eddie, and their children, Roxanne, Rachael and Jaxon; sister, Jan; and brother, Richard Joslin; numerous nieces and nephews; and former husband,Victor Heath, who remained a lifelong friend.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Steven.
Her family wishes to express their gratitude to the Covenant Hospice family for their comfort, dedication and compassion, and to the staff and congregations of Woodbine United Methodist Church and Eastside Baptist Church.
Funeral services were held Friday, October 2, 2015, at Faith Chapel North.
Interment was in Holy Cross Cemetery.

Mrs. Pat James Hall, 72, passed away on Tuesday, September 29, 2015, in Atmore.
Mrs. Hall was a native and lifelong resident of Atmore. Mrs. Hall was a member of the Pink Ladies Auxiliary of Atmore Community Hospital and the Grief Support Group. She was a member of the Lottie Baptist Church. She is preceded in death by her husband, Clifton James and parents, Frank and Edythe Patrick.
Survivors include her husband, Hilton Hall of Atmore; one son, Jonathan (Christy) James of Atmore; two daughters, Cheryl James (Warren) Fenner of Atmore and Julie James (Tony) Wilder of Kingsport, TN; two brothers, Foster (Sarah) Patrick of Atmore and Benny Patrick of Bratt; two sisters, Frankie (Billy Wayne) Donald of Nokomis (AL) and Manell Cox of Foley; eight grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Friday, October 2, 2015, at the Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home with Rev. Chris Pruitt officiating.
Burial will follow at the Serenity Gardens Cemetery.

Mike Durden, age 70, of Pensacola, passed away on his birthday Wednesday, September 30, 2015. He was a member of Windy Hill Baptist Church. He graduated from Escambia High School and he served in the United States Air Force in the Military Police. Mike was a produce manager in the grocery business for 35 years. He was a world traveler who enjoyed visiting new places and meeting new people. His greatest joy in life was his Godchildren. He loved cooking especially for his family.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Leroy Durden and Rose Hollingsworth Alvira.
He is survived by his loving wife, Veda Ellis Durden; Godchildren, Stephanie McCaskill and Steven McCaskill; brothers, Phillip Durden and Don Durden (Helen) of Gulf Breeze, and his sisters, Caroline Roberts of Navarre, and Linda Verhonich of Navarre.
A special thanks to his nieces, Reba and Michele Heath who were such a great help and comfort.
Pallbearers will be Kenny Bedsole, Gene Ellis, Steven McCaskill, Ed Morreale, Floyd Rose, Jr. and Wesley Rose.
