Clara Marie Butler Gary

Clara Marie Butler Gary, 78 of Atmore, passed away Thursday, October 22, 2015, in Mobile. She was retired from a cookie factory in Broadview, IL. She was born in Florence, AL on June 7, 1937, to the late James and Louise Hinton Butler. She was of  the Baptist faith.

She is preceded in death by a sister, Idia Butler and a granddaughter, Teresa Jay.

Survivors include one daughter, Rosa McGhee of Poarch; two brothers, Ray Wilkerson and Eldred Wilkerson, both of Florence; two sisters, Faye Wiley and Evelyn Smith both of Florence; two grandchildren, James Ivey and Jessica Ivey; seven great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

Services will be Monday, October 26, 2015, at 2:30 p.m. from the Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Bubba Rolin officiating.

Interment will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery.

Active pallbearers will be Dominique Bryant, James Ivey, Ethan Hall, Lavon McGhee and Gary Gibson.

Family will receive friends on Sunday, October 25, 2015, from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home.

Shannon Odom Adair

Mrs. Shannon Odom Adair, age 56 of Century, passed away on Monday, October 19, 2015, in Pensacola.

Mrs. Adair was a native and lifelong resident of Century and she worked at the Sandwich Deli in Century for the past 10 years. She was of the Christian faith. She is preceded in death by her parents, Frank H. and Mary Ellen Campbell Odom and brother, Frankie Devon Odom.

She is survived by her husband, Keith Adair of Century; daughter, Misty (Paul) LaSala of Canoe; son, Steven David (Mindy) Lashley of Century; stepsons, Brian Keith (Michelle) Adair of Frisco City, AL and Kevin Patrick (Jessica) Adair of Uriah, AL; brothers, David Odom of Byrneville and Richard Odom of Century; sister, Robin Fawn Bonds of Pace; grandchildren, Ansley, Andrea, Aiden LaSala, Bekah Adair and Kallie Adair.

Eddie Earl Flowers, age 60 of Jay, passed away on October 17, 2015, in Pensacola. He worked at Wayne Dalton Overhead Doors in Pensacola. He enjoyed his fishing. He was a loving son, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend to those that knew him.

He was preceded in death by his father, Ervin (Junior) Flowers.

He is survived by his mother, Dorothy Flowers; son, Stephen Flowers; grandchildren, Jasper and Timothy Flowers; companion, Theresa Wise; and daughter, Alison Woodward; sisters, Diane (Raymond) Belanger and Susie (Gary) Dowling; brothers, Kenny (Tina) Flowers, Alton Flowers, Calvin (Jennifer) Flowers, David (Betty) Flowers, Larry Flowers, and Edward Flowers.

Funeral services were held Friday, October 23, 2015, at Jay Funeral Home with Brother LaDon Hall officiating.

Nicole Marie Hatfield

Nicole Marie Hatfield (Nikki), 29, died, Monday, October 19, 2015, from a heart attack at her home. She was born in Tallahassee and graduated from Leon High School in 2004 and University of South Florida in 2011 with a degree in Art History. Nicole was the Manager of Visitor Services and Exhibitions Assistant at the Pensacola Museum of Art. She was known by all for her deep devotion to her family, her passion for art, love for traveling the world and experiencing different cultures, incredible talent for organizing and making anything beautiful, contagious laugh and truly enjoying every second of life. She lit up the room in every way.

Survivors include the love of her life, David Lee; parents, Don and Cathy Dewey; father, Bob Hatfield; her sisters, Hayley (Toni), Heather (Matthew), Amy (Steven); her brothers, Dylan and Dustin; her nephew, Cortland; grandparents, cousins, aunts, uncles, and dear family friends.

There will be a celebration of her life on Sunday, October 25, 2015, from 2 p.m. until 4 p.m. at the Pensacola Museum of Art. All friends and family are invited.

Stella Mae Mace, 68 of Perdido, passed away Tuesday, October 20, 2015, in Perdido. She was a homemaker. She was born in Atmore on March 17, 1947, to the late Johnny Thomas and Etta Bell Harrison Thompson. She was a member of the New Testament Church of Rabon.

Survivors include her husband, Phil Mace of Perdido; two sons, William Mace of Perdido and Phil Mace, Jr. of Murrells, SC; three daughters, Sheila Edwards of Poarch, Tammy Keer of Texas and Elizabeth Mace of Foley; two brothers, Donald Thompson of Plainview, TX and Rufus Thompson of Bay Minette; one sister, Ruth Morris of Atlanta, GA; 18 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

Services were held Friday, October 23, 2015, from the Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Rubba Rolin officiating.

Interment was in Sardis Baptist Cemetery.

Purvis Boyington

Mr. Purvis Boyington, 71, passed away on Friday, October 16, 2015, in Stockton, Alabama.

Mr. Boyington was a native of Citronelle, Alabama, former resident of Bay Minette, where he spent most of his life, and he resided in Stockton. Mr. Boyington worked for AAA Cooper Transportation-Standard Furniture. He attended the Full Power Holiness Church. He is preceded in death by his parents, Hayward and Pearl Boyington; daughter, Susan Jane Boyington; three brothers, Charles, O’Neal and Earl Boyington; sister, Marie Frazier; and granddaughter, Kristin Boyington.

Survivors include his wife, Jeannie Boyington of Stockton; one son, Nolan Boyington of Ft. Worth, TX; three daughters, Rhonda Boyington of Bay Minette, Karen Phillips of Century and Jonni Boyington of Fairhope; two brothers, Johnny Boyington of Bay Minette and Hayward Boyington, Jr. of Bay Minette; one sister, Ellarine Stewart of Bay Minette; nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, October 20, 2015, at the Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home with Sis. Helen Stewart officiating.

Burial was in the Alabama State Veterans Memorial Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Shawn Stuckey, Jonathan Boyington, Tyler White, B.K. Brown, Nikki Boyington and Timmy Kirkland.

Dewey Leroy McGhee

Dewey Leroy McGhee, 72 of Poarch, passed away Friday, October 16, 2015, at his residence. He was an installer with Tele-Communication. He retired from AT&T in 1995 after 35 years of service, during that time he served on the Tribal Council from 1973 to 1979 and 1985 to 1986. He also was contracted out with Lucent Technologies where he worked overseas. He was born on November 7, 1942, in Poarch, to the late Chief Calvin William and Joyce Ingram McGhee.

He is preceded in death by brothers, Roy McGhee, Curtis McGhee, Julius Frank McGhee and Houston McGhee; grand-daughter, Feather Marie McGhee.

Survivors include his wife, Olivette McGhee of Poarch; sons and daughters, Calvin Lynn (Patsy) McGhee of Atmore, Althea McGhee (Frankie) Bell of Atmore; William Tyler (Cynthia) McGhee of Burke, VA.; Natasha McGhee (Aubrey) Rolin of Atmore;  10 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.

Services were held Monday, October 19, 2015, from the Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Mike Absher officiating.

Interment was in New Home Cemetery.

Active pallbearers were Thunder McGhee, Brent Bell, Kyler McGlothren, Kyle Bennett, James T. Martin and Phillip Martin.

William M. “Bill” Brown, Sr.

William M. “Bill” Brown, Sr. 86 of Atmore, passed away Monday, October 19, 2015, in Atmore. He was a retired cattlemen and farmer born in Evergreen, AL on November 10, 1928 to the late Benjamin Horace and Carrie Elizabeth Rabon Brown. He was past President of The Alabama Cattlemen’s Association and a member of the First Baptist Church of Atmore.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Jeanette P. Brown and son, William M. “Billy” Brown, Jr.

Survivors include three sons, James M. “Jimmy” (Shelle) Brown of Atmore, Richard (Donna) Brown of Birmingham and Gary (Linda) Brown of Warrior, AL; two sisters, Sara (Ken) Pressley of Montgomery and Margie Evens of Evergreen; six grandchildren, Josh, Jessie, Megan, Dakota, Beth, and C.J.; and seven great-grandchildren.

Services will be held Thursday, October 22, 2015, at 2 p.m. from The First Baptist Church of Atmore with Rev. Arnold Hendrix officiating.

Interment will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery.

Lillian Marie Moye, 86 of Atmore, passed away Tuesday, October 13, 2015, at her residence. She was a homemaker, born in Jasper, AL on January 8, 1929. She was a member of Sardis Baptist Church.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Alfred Moye; and son, Douglas Moye.

Survivors include two sons, Wiley Moye and Robert Earl (Jenny) Moye all of Atmore; five grandchildren, Kimberly Hudson, Steven Moye, Wayne Moye, Craig Moye and Chris Moye; and a host of great-grandchildren.

Services were held Friday, October 16, 2015, from the Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Earl Greene officiating.

Interment will follow in Sardis Baptist Cemetery.

Mrs. Bridgette Presley Plemons, 42, passed away on Saturday, October 17, 2015, in Loxley.

Mrs. Plemons was a native of Flomaton, former resident of Foley and resided in Loxley, for the past two years. Mrs. Plemons was a loving wife, mother, sister and friend. She loved everyone and was of the Christian faith.

Survivors include her father, Donald Lee Presley of Atmore; mother, Brenda Presley of Summerdale; husband, Rodney Plemons of Loxley; two sons, Robert Charles Presley of Kaplan, LA and John Dillon Plemons of Greenwood, SC; one daughter, Shania Plemons of Loxley; four brothers, Mikeal Ryan Presley of Marietta, GA, Darin Gregory Presley of Pace, Rodney Stewart Presley of Summerdale and Jason Forrest Presley of Summerdale; and one sister, Carol Elaine Presley Reynolds of Jacksonville, FL.
