Jack Dubose Logan

Mr. Jack Dubose Logan, age 86, of  Brewton, passed away Saturday, March 26, 2016, in a local nursing facility after a brief illness. He was a native of Brooklyn, AL and a lifelong resident of Brewton. Mr. Logan was a member of the Brewton First Baptist Church. He was a graduate of Evergreen High School and a retired millwright from Temple Inland with 20 plus years of service.
Survivors include two daughters,  Jackie (Herb) Kennedy of Monroeville and Joan (Winston) Lindsay of Brewton; three grandchildren, Scott (Jennifer) Kennedy of Dothan, Kimberly Logan (John) Pettis of Brewton and Heather Logan Jennings of Brewton; six great-grandchildren, Stokes Jennings, Lindsey Jennings, Bracken Pettis, Logan Pettis, Abbie Kate Kennedy, and William Joseph Kennedy.

He is preceded in death by his parents, James William and Claire Dubose Logan; wife, Margaret Cook Logan; and son, Joseph Dubose Logan.

Funeral services were held Monday, March 28, 2016, at the Brooklyn Baptist Church with Rev. John Finklea officiating.

Interment was in Brooklyn Cemetery in Brooklyn, Alabama.

Mary Elizabeth Davis Edwards

Mary Elizabeth Davis Edwards, 66, of Longville, LA, died Tuesday, March 22, 2016, at her residence.

Mrs. Edwards was born August 3, 1949, in Atmore. She was a 1968 graduate of Escambia County High School. She graduated from Troy State University with a Bachelor of Arts degree and later from McNeese State University with her degree in early childhood education. She served her country in the U.S. Army from 1976 to 1980. Mrs. Edwards lived in Germany and Pennsylvania for a number of years before moving to Longville, LA in 1993, where she resided until January when she moved to Moss Bluff. She was a member of St. Pius X Catholic Church. She enjoyed collecting knick knacks and loved her family and grandchildren dearly and also her dog, Rascal. She was a God fearing woman who was full of love and always gave advice to those she loved.

Mrs. Edwards is survived by her husband of thirty-six years, Charles Francis Edwards; daughter, Annisha Hunt and husband Charles Edward Hunt of Monroe, LA; son, John Ernest Edwards of Cleburne, TX; mother, Elsie Gerald and husband Pete of Atmore; brothers, Carvin Thomas Davis, Jr. of Birmingham, AL and John Davis of Robertsdale, AL; sister, Elsie Tillery and husband Buddy of Foley, AL; and her grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Connor, and Jordan Hunt.

She was preceded in death by her father, Carvin Thomas Davis, Sr.

Funeral services were held Monday, March 28, 2016, at the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel in Lake Charles, LA, with Deacon Leo Hebert officiating.

Graveside services will be in Mothershed Cemetery in Atmore on Wednesday, March 30, 2016, at 1:00 PM. A visitation will be held Wednesday, March 30, 2016, from 10 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. from the Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home.

Henry Anthony Lister

March 28, 2016

Henry Anthony Lister, 62, of Pensacola, passed away Saturday, March 26, 2016. He was an avid outdoorsman, and loved to hunt and fish. He attended Olive Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his father, Henry C. Lister; brother, Steven Eric Lister; and his half-sister, Karen.

He is survived by his mother, Lois Lister; half-sister, Kim; aunts, Martha (Ralph) Lodge and Doris Jennins; faithful cat, Smokey; and a host of cousins.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, March 30, 2016, beginning at 10 a.m. with funeral services to begin at 11 a.m. with Dr. Ted Traylor officiating.

Interment will follow at McCurdy Cemetery in Century.

Pamela Diane Windsor-Campbell

Pamela Diane Windsor-Campbell was born in Portsmouth, Virginia on June 19, 1960. Pam passed away on March 18, 2016, where she resided with her husband Anthony Ciocci in Burlington, NC.

She was preceded in death by her granny, Inez Blackburn.

Pam is survived by her daughter, Chanel Edwina (Jose) Hernandez; sons, Adam and Noah Campbell; grandsons, John-John and Gavrial who will miss their Na-Na very much; mom, Nancy W and step-dad, Jerry Carnley; her father, Bruce Monroe (Nicole) Windsor, Jr.; brother, Bruce Monroe (Petrina) Windsor, III; sister, Terry Windsor-Cherry and brother-in-law, Larry.

She was a loving aunt to many nieces and nephews.

Our precious Pam will be greatly missed.

Visitation will be Thursday, April 7, 2016, from 10 a.m. until the 11 a.m. memorial service at Faith Chapel Funeral Home South.

Russell E. King

March 28, 2016

Russell E. King (Tony), age 96, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, March 23, 2016. Tony was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and great-great-grandfather. He was known as “Papa” to family and friends alike.

Tony is preceded in death by his loving wife of 62 years, Jonnie King.

He is survived by his son, Russell (Janice) King; four daughters, Betty (Toby) Atwell , Ruby (Alan) Hass, Brenda (Mario) Santinelli and Linda (David) Foster; grandchildren, Sonya Hudson, Russell (Erika) Hass, Mary (James) Stankard, Lonnie (Tammy) Wilson, Johnny (Joanna) Wilson, Mark (Jodi) Santinelli, Steve (Jenny) Hass, Donnie (Jennifer) Wilson, David Hass, Melinda (Mike) Moulton; 22 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild, all of whom will dearly miss their Papa.

In 2013, Tony and Margery Paulk were united. She was his loving companion and friend and they shared many wonderful adventures together. Tony served his country for two years in the US Navy. He retired from St. Regis in 1985 after 33 years of faithful service. He was a volunteer firefighter with Brent Fire Department, served with the FHP auxiliary unit, Troop A, for approximately15 years and also served with ECSO Senior crimes unit until his health declined in June of 2015. He was a member of Gonzalez United Methodist Church. He loved to camp, fish, and spend time with his family.

Family will receive friends following the graveside service in the CEC at Gonzalez United Methodist Church.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Tony’s name to Covenant Hospice. The family would like to give a special thanks to Missy, Darrell, Balinda, Lori, Amanda, Barbara, Deloris and Pam for the wonderful care they gave to our Papa.

Graveside services were held at Gonzalez United Methodist Church Cemetery, Saturday, March 26, 2016.

Serving as pallbearers were his grandsons.

James C. Johnson

Mr. James C. “Jimmy” Johnson, Jr., 67, passed away on Tuesday, March 22, 2016, in Flomaton.

Mr. Johnson was a native of Fort Bragg, NC, former resident of Jay and had resided in Flomaton most of his life. Mr. Johnson was a Gideon.  He was retired from Exxon with 25 years of service, was a mechanic at Stokes Small Engine, worked with Johnson Brothers Pumping and was a member of the Moyeville Baptist Church.

He is preceded in death by a baby sister, Marilyn Denise Johnson and a brother, Wayne D. Johnson.

He is survived by his parents, Rev. James “Jim” and Lecia Johnson of Flomaton; wife, Susan Dianne Johnson of Flomaton; three sons, Matt Johnson of Flomaton, Marc (Lynne) Johnson of Riverside, AL and Luke (Renee) Johnson of Brewton; one daughter, Marilyn Johnson (Chuck) Day of Flomaton; one brother, Glenn (Charlotte) Johnson of Flomaton; one sister, Deborah (Joe) Golden of Flomaton; seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Friday, March 25, 2016, at the Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home with Rev. Bobby Carnley officiating.

Burial was at the Moyeville Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Isaiah Day, Cody Johnson, Joshua Day, Chandler Johnson, Buddy Morris and Lamar Byrd.

Robert Bingham Raithel, Jr.

Robert “Bob” Bingham Raithel, Jr., 80, of Pensacola, passed away on March 23, 2016. He was born to the late Robert and Helen Raithel, Sr. on December 29, 1935, in Montclair, N.J.

He attended Verona High School and continued his education at Amherst College and graduated in 1957. On March 14, 1958, Bob joined the U. S. Marine Corp where he served his country proudly. He taught school in Verona, N.J. where he retired. Bob enjoyed tennis, football, ping pong and most sports. Most of all he loved to go to his daughter’s field hockey and lacrosse games.

Bob is survived by his wife, Millie; his four children, Jeff, Tim, Sheryl, and Rob; and one grandson, Seth.

Funeral services will be held at Tuesday, March 29, 216, at 11 a.m. at Faith Chapel North with Rev. Randy Hamill and Rev. Terry Van Gilder officiating.

Burial will follow in Barrancas National Cemetery, NAS Pensacola.

Raymond Verle Schneider

Raymond Verle Schneider, 92, of Walnut Hill,  passed away Tuesday, March 22, 2016, in Pensacola.

He was born in Ithaca, MI, to the late Edward and Ada (Bates) Schneider. He moved to Walnut Hill in 1946 to farm. He was a member of the Walnut Hill Mennonite Church.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Margaret, and son Kale Schneider, and four brothers and three sisters.

Survivors are his son Royce (Marilyn) Schneider of Walnut Hill; four daughters, Sally (Robert) Toews, of Kingsville, Ontario, Polly (Lyle) Wiebe, of Kirkton, Ontario, Rose (Carlos) Koehn, and Susan Schneider, both of Walnut Hill; daughter-in-law Donna Schneider of Bratt; and one brother Edward (Gerry) Schneider and  sister Nadine Unruh, both of Stapleton, GA; 22 grandchildren; and 54 great-grandchildren.

Services will be held Saturday. March 26, at 10:30 a.m. at the Walnut Hill Mennonite Church, with Rev. Mike Koehn officiating. Interment will follow in Walnut Hill Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends Friday, March 25 at the Walnut Hill Mennonite Church from 6:30p.m. until 8:30p.m.

Joan Alma Fabrizio

Joan Alma Fabrizio, 85, of Cantonment, passed away Friday, March 18, 2016. Joan was born April 9, 1930, in Trenton, NJ. She married Tony Fabrizio and raised nine children. She enjoyed spending time with multiple grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She worked in the food service industry and in retirement enjoyed many years of crafting and craft shows.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Anthony Michael Fabrizio; parents, Mildred and Rudolph Hillman; and her sisters, Evelyn Roso, Nancy Elsessor, Barbara Grzenda and Frit Shorley.

She is survived by her daughters, Toni Jennings and family, Victoria Douglas and family, and Sherri Fuqua and family; sons, Donald Fabrizio and family and John Bullaro; sister, Carol Mendicino and family; brothers, Hank Hillman and family and Charles Hillman and family.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, March 22, 2016, at Faith Chapel Funeral Home North.

Leslie Hardy

Leslie Hardy, 85, of Atmore, passed away Wednesday, March 16, 2016, in Pensacola. He was born on June 25, 1930, in Atmore to the late Joseph Benjamin and Hattie Phillips Hardy. He was retired from Higdon & Hardy Heating and Air-Conditioning. He enjoyed farming and gardening, was an avid cattleman, and dearly loved his family and his dog, Bo. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Atmore.

He was preceded in death by brothers, Louie Hardy and Lamar Hardy; and a sister, Lucille Zeringue.

Mr. Hardy is survived by his wife of 65 years, Florence Higdon Hardy of Atmore; two sons, Joe (Renee) Hardy and Billy (Vicki) Hardy, all of Atmore; two daughters, Bobbie (Steve) Mack of Cantonment and Melanie (Shayne Johnson) Hardy of Dallas, TX; one brother, Pete Hardy of Atmore; six sisters, Sarah (Hoyt) Coon, Betty (Gene) Singleton, Lois Hall, Nette Hardy, all of Atmore, Linda Garrick of Greensboro, NC, Tisha Phillips of Stockton, AL; six grandchildren, Jill (Bo) Franklin, Kelly (Tony) Benauer, Ben (Jamie) Hardy, Emily (Clay) Branch, Robert (Lena) Hardy and Jessi (Joseph) McDonald; and four great-grandchildren, Brooks Branch, Caroline Branch, Livia Hardy, and Gerard Benauer.

Services were held Saturday, March 19, 2016, at the First Baptist Church of Atmore with Rev. Arnold Hendrix and Brother Chris Pruitt officiating.

A private family graveside service was held at Oak Hill Cemetery.

Active pallbearers were Ben Hardy, Robert Hardy, Greg Hardy, Danny Hall, Steve Drew and Kelly Drew.

Honorary pallbearers were Bo Franklin, Clay Branch, Tony Benauer, and Joseph McDonald.
