Marguree H. Womack

Marguree H. Womack, 92, of Atmore, passed away Sunday, April 10, 2016, at her residence. She was retired from Vanity Fair Mills as a sewing machine operator, born on March 12, 1924, in Monroe County, AL to the late George Cobb and Lula Belle Powell Hughes.  She was a member of Enon Baptist Church of Goodway, AL.

She is preceded in death by her husband, R.B. Womack; one infant brother; and one sister, Nettie Lou Lilley.

Survivors include one son, James D. (Rosemary) Womack of Atmore; one daughter, Margie Ann (Mitchell) Harrison of Goodway; one brother, Collie Ray “Bo” Hughes of Cantonment;  grandchildren, Anita Harrison, Genie Morrison, Teresa Nichols, Michelle Firzhugn, and Paula Daniel; nine great-grandchildren;  three great-great-grandchildren and one on the way.

Services were held  Tuesday April 12, 2016, at the Enon Baptist Church of Goodway, AL with Rev. C.L.Langford officiating.

Interment was in Enon Baptist Church Cemetery.

Active pallbearers were Steven Morris, Jr., Paul Morrison, Jay Nichols, Randall Daniel, Ryan Daniel, Craig Fitzhugh, Ryan Hames, Alden Harrison, Britton Morris.

Honorary pallbearers were her Sunday School Class.

Thomas Hugh Stallworth

Thomas “Tommy” Hugh Stallworth, Jr. 79 of Atmore, passed away Saturday, April 9, 2016, at his residence. Mr. Stallworth was born on September 1, 1936, to the late Thomas Hugh and Julia Manar Stallworth, in Atmore. He was a graduate of Marion Military Institute and attended The University of Alabama. He worked in the oil and gas industry for many years, employed by Reed Rock and Bit Company of New Orleans. After retirement he worked for Williamson Realty in Atmore.

He is preceded in death by two sisters, Jean Stallworth Maxwell and Barbara Stallworth King.

Survivors include one sister, Julia Stallworth (Keith) King of Mobile; many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews.

Graveside services were held Wednesday, April 13, 2016, at Oak Hill Cemetery with Dr. Debora Bishop officiating.

Interment will be in Oak Hill Cemetery.

Margaret Mary Richards

April 13, 2016

Margaret Mary Richards, 76, of Pensacola, passed away Tuesday, April 12, 2016. Mrs. Richards worked at Dillards and Holmes for over 20 years. She met the love of her life, Joseph Richards, in high school in New Orleans, LA and was married for over 57 years.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Mary Lue Beaugh Constantine and Charles Constantine Sr.; and brothers, John and Robert Constantine.

She is survived by her loving husband, Joseph Richards, Sr.; four sons, Joseph Richards, Jr., Michael Richards (Rochelle), Steven Richards (Tonya) and Scott Richards (Leslie); three grandchildren, Hannah, Emily and Sophie; brothers, Charles, Russell and Ray Keith Constantine; sisters, Lee Bergeron, Rena Nevels, Shirley Ledet and Ella Ryan; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Richards was of the Catholic faith and there will be a Celebration of Life at a later date.

William Cline Wallace

April 9, 2016

William Cline Wallace was born in 1942 and recently passed away. He was born in Pensacola to William A. Wallace and Ada M. Wallace. William (Bill) spent his life close to his family on the panhandle. A graduate of Pensacola High School, he served in the United States Army and the Army Reserve. He married Gloria Vallia in 1967. Bill made a career in Pensacola in the furniture business in both retail and later as a sales representative. Over the course of his career, Bill made many friends across North Florida, Alabama, Mississippi and Georgia. He found true joy in encouraging others in his field, especially younger sales associates, to aspire for a positive attitude and to seek to be the best they could be no matter their  circumstances. Bill possessed a quick wit, a kind spirit, and a genuine desire to see others succeed. He loved his family and his dear friends very much, and he never counted it a sacrifice to help them in any way he could. He will be remembered for modeling the value of a good sense of humor, a joy in simplicity, and a constant desire for honesty and integrity in dealing with all people. Bill held the Christian faith dear, and he generously and yet without pretense encouraged his family to make their faith a priority in all their lives.

He is survived by his mother, Ada Wallace; his wife, Gloria Wallace; two sons, Jason Wallace (wife, Meg), and Jonathan Wallace (wife, Angela); and three beloved grandsons, William Jackson Wallace, Albert Reese Wallace, and John Cooper Wallace.

The family would like to extend a special heart-felt thank you to Dr. Tarek Eldawy of Sacred Heart Cancer Center, to the nursing care team at Sacred Heart, and the physical and occupational therapists who worked so patiently with him.

Kenneth Ray Smith

Kenneth Ray Smith, 86, of Cantonment, passed away Friday, April 8, 2016, at his home surrounded by his loving family.

He is survived by his loving wife, Georganna June Smith; two daughters, Debra Raye (Edward) Wells and Janet (John) Reithmiller; son, David (Debra) Smith; sister, Diane (Chester) Burns; eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held Sunday, April 10, 2016, at First Baptist Church of Cantonment beginning at 1:30 p.m. with funeral services to follow at 3:00 p.m.

Dr. Will Stone and Reverend David Smith will be officiating.

There will be a private graveside service.

Courtney Laine Pridgen

Miss Courtney Laine Pridgen, age 17 of Coleman Lane, Brewton, passed away Wednesday April 5, 2016, in a Mobile hospital. She was a native of Pensacola and a lifelong resident of Brewton.

Miss Pridgen was a member of the Flomaton First Baptist Church, She attended Flomaton High School where she was a member of the Beta Club and on the Annual/Yearbook Staff. Courtney was very social. She loved her family, friends, and all animals.

She is survived by her father, Jeremy (Daphne) Pridgen of Flomaton; mother Tonya (Jr) Emmons of Brewton; brother Cody Pridgen of Flomaton; stepbrothers Colby Taylor and Deston Taylor of Flomaton; stepsister Tiffany Sullivan of Milton; maternal grandmother Sandra Jackson of Brewton; maternal Pa Pa Larry Spinks of Bratt; aunt Michelle (Justin) Baxter of Castleberry, AL: uncle- Bubba (Rhonda) Pridgen of Flomaton; cousin Ethan Cardwell of Castleberry, AL; and paternal grandparents Glendall and Gracie Pridgen of Flomaton.

Visitation will be held Friday night April 8, 2016, from 6-9 p.m. at Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home in Brewton. Funeral services are scheduled for Saturday morning April 9, 2016, at 11 a.m. at Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home with Rev. Nicholas Jones officiating. Interment will follow in Sardis Cemetery Flomaton, AL.

Willie Ray Bonds, Jr.

Willie Ray “Chip” Bonds, Jr. died unexpectedly Thursday, March 31, 2016, at the age of 45. He was born February 14, 1971. A lifelong resident of Pensacola, Chip worked for AT&T for over 20 years. This took him to Auburn, AL for a few years which led to him meeting the love of his life, Brandy Brooks, who he was engaged to and set to marry May 14, 2016. He not only fell in love with Brandy, but also her three children, which he considered his own. Chip, Brandy and the kids would often take family camping trips and numerous other family adventures.

Chip was an avid Alabama fan. He also had a love for racing, both driving and helping others who raced, especially his nephew Randy. Chip was well known and liked in the short track racing industry, having started a racing radio company with two of his good friends. Chip also left his mark in R.C. racing, traveling the country to enjoy a hobby he loved. He was a loyal friend to many, often putting others before himself. Chip, being a loving family man and a great friend to many people, will be missed but never forgotten.

Chip is preceded in death by his grandparents, Grady and Ruby Albritton; father, Bill Bonds; brother, Billy Thompson; and his niece, Tasha Thompson.

He is survived by his fiancé, Brandy Brooks and her children, Hannah, Kiley and Brayden Brooks; Brandy’s mother, Fawn and Freddie Hann; mother, Christine Bonds; brothers, Ricky and Joni Thompson and Tim Thompson; sister, Tonya and Mike Brantly; half-brother, Mike Bonds; half-sister, Gail and Bob Falke; nieces and nephews, Randy Thompson and Alisha Lay, Grady Thompson, Dana and Rueben Guy, Dagan, Dawson and Bristol Guy and Joey Tammaro; many other aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Visitation will be held Friday, April 8, 2016, at Faith Chapel Funeral Home North from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m.

Funeral services will be Saturday, April 9, 2016, at Faith Chapel Funeral Home North at 11 a.m. with Dr. Dale Patterson officiating.

Interment will follow at Eastern Gate Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Tim Thompson, Randy Thompson, Bobby Hinkle, Chad Lovelace, Tim Harris and Steve Neshem.

Honorary pallbearers will be Joey Tammaro, Josh Bundy, Freddie Hann, Justin Huggins, Mark Biles and Brent Royster.

Waylin Daryl Mothershed

Mr. Waylin Daryl Mothershed, 45, passed away on Friday, April 1, 2016, in Atmore.

Mr. Mothershed was a native of LaGrange, GA and a resident of Atmore  for the past 30 years. He attended the Peterman Baptist Church. He is preceded in death by his biological parents, W.D. Mothershed and Judy Laney; and his adoptive parent, Carl Mothershed.

He is survived by his mother, Ruth Mothershed of Atmore; wife, Jennifer Mothershed of Atmore; two sons, Matthew (Brittney) Mothershed of Atmore and Justin Mothershed of Seattle, WA; one step-son, Grant Everette of Montgomery; two daughters, Katlin Stabler and Breann Rolin, both of Atmore; one sister, Tina (James) House of Atmore; three grandchildren, Noah, Braylee and Evan; one niece, Kaja House; and one nephew, Trevor Lowry.

Funeral services will be held Friday, April 8, 2016, at 10 a.m. at the Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home with Rev. Don Davis officiating.

Burial will be at the Mothershed Cemetery.

Visitation will be Thursday, April 7, 2016, from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. at the Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home.

Doyle H. Simmons

April 6, 2016

Doyle H. Simmons Sr., 77, passed away, Sunday April 3, 2016, in his home surrounded by his family after a long fight with Alzheimer’s disease. Doyle was born March 28, 1939, in  Gadsden, Alabama to Benjamin and Fannie Mae Simmons. He was married to the love of his life, Jacqueline R. Crenshaw for 60 years. He served his country in the United States Air Force for over 20 years and retired in Fort Walton Beach where he then started a new chapter as a firefighter and EMT at the Fort Walton Beach Fire Department. Doyle returned to school, graduating with honors from Troy State University on June 8, 1984, majoring in fire science. He retired as a Captain and moved to Pensacola to be near his family.

Doyle was a man that lived his life for his family. His hobby was playing and teaching his children and grandchildren about life. He gave them the most precious thing in life, his time. He would never fail to be the first to volunteer to help you if you needed him.

He was preceded by death by his parents.

He is survived by his wife, Jacqueline and his two children, Doyle Simmons Jr. (Donna) and Angela Wilcox (Mike); six grandchildren, Keith Simmons (Crystal), Jennifer Simmons, Christopher Rawson (Melissa), Kayla Bodree (Dakota), M.T. Wilcox, Kristi Wilcox; and 10 great-grandchildren, Gary, Carter, Emry, McKenna, Bryant, Jolie, Blakely, Hadley, Kamden, Braxton. He is also survived by his brother and sisters, Doris Cox, Carol Banks (Parks), Steve Simmons (Deborah), Jean Byers; and 13 nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at Hillcrest Baptist Church, Nine Mile Road on April 7, 2016. Visitation begins at 9:30 a.m. followed by the service at 10:30 a.m.

The Fort Walton Beach Fire Department Honor Guard will be honoring Capt. Simmons during the service and the procession to Barrancas National Cemetery where the United States Air Force will take over and provide burial with full military honors.

Carolyn G. Parks

Carolyn G. Parks passed away peacefully on April 3, 2016, at West Florida Covenant Hospice. She was born on October 18, 1943, in Florence, SC. She was the daughter of John Alonzo and Gladys McGill. Carolyn was known by many different names such as Jo and Red, but her favorite was Mimi because the love for her grandchildren was immense.

She is proceeded in death by her parents; husband, Kenneth Parks; brothers, Lonnie and Richard McGill.

She is survived by her son, Michael Parks; daughter, Tammy (Glenn) Welford; grandchildren, Devic, Dustin (Samantha) and Chelsi; sister, Barbara Wave; brother, Frankie McGill and Donnie Roy (Barbara) McGill; and many nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Devic Welford, Dustin Welford, Shane Wave, Grady Sowards, Greg Parks and Marvis Boswell.

Visitation will be Thursday, April 7, 2016, from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. at Faith Chapel Funeral Home North.
