Donna Marie Lambeth, age 48, of Brewton, passed away on March 4, 2016, at Santa Rosa Medical Center due to a short illness.
She is preceded in death by her father, Albert Lambeth and nephew, Albert Lambeth Jr. (AJ).
She is survived by her son, Lee Candido Morena (age 6); mother, Effie Lee Lambert; Donald Greg (Lisa) Lambeth, Clayton (Bertha) Lambeth, and Danny Madden and sister, Sandra Lambeth. Donna was blessed with six nephews and five nieces.
Memorial services honoring the life of Donna Marie Lambeth will be held on Saturday, March 12, 2016, at 2 p.m. at Jay Funeral Home.
Leslie Lynear Morgan

Mr. Leslie Lynear Morgan, age 68 of Century, passed away on Saturday, March 5, 2016, at Sentara Hospice House in Virginia Beach, VA.
Mr. Morgan was a native of Pensacola and a member of the Byrneville community for 51 years. He was retired from the United States Navy with service in aviation maintenance. While in the military he earned numerous medals and he was a member of the Blue Angel Alumni. He was a member of Byrneville United Methodist Church.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Donna Marie Beckwith Morgan.
He is survived by his daughters, Jennifer (Zeb) Gosik of Virginia Beach, VA and Karen (James) Jernigan of Brewton; brothers, Ronald Morgan and Henry Morgan, both of Byrneville; six grandchildren, Andrew Hammond, Ashley Hammond, Autumn Jernigan, Austin Jernigan, Cooper Gosik and Ella Gosik.
Funeral services were held on Friday, March 11, 2016 at Byrneville United Methodist Church with Rev. Robert Barrow officiating.
Interment was in Byrneville Methodist Cemetery with full military honors.
Pallbearers were Jason Morgan, Tyler Morgan, Christian Morgan, Deryl Hadley, Levi Brooks, Dalton Hadley.

Dejuana Lenese Lail “Sally” of Flomaton, passed away Monday, March 7, 2016, after fighting a battle with breast cancer. Sally was born on May 23, 1967, in Brewton to J.D. and Mary Bradley. She was a lifelong resident of this area. Sally married her soul mate and best friend, Jerome on August 16, 1985. Sally accepted Jesus in her heart during her young adult years and was baptized. Sally had a strong faith and lived life to its fullest. This faith she had and the support of her family and friends is what got her through this fight with cancer. Sally didn’t win her fight here on earth but she is now in heaven. A place we can only imagine about with a perfect body with Jesus fellowshipping with family and friends that have gone on before.
Sally is survived by her loving husband, Jerome; her precious daughter, Jessica; brother, Roland (Tammy) Bradley, brother, Chris (Erica) Bradley; sister, Sonya (Rodney) Greer, brother, Charlie Bradley, sister, Francis Bradley, brother, Jonathan Bradley; in laws, Kenneth and Maggie Lail; brother-in-law, Lewis Lail; 12 nieces; six nephews; six great-nieces; nine great-nephews; many aunts, uncles, cousins, and her lifelong friend, Cindy Brittingham as well as many special friends, and the family dog, Tigger.
Sally is preceded in death by her parents, J.D. and Mary Bradley,and brother Anthony (Bo) Bradley.

Steve Smith passed away unexpectedly at his residence in Pensacola on March 1, 2016. He was born March 23, 1959, in Warrenton, VA (Manassas, VA) to Peggy Joyce Langston and Douglas Ray Smith. He lived in Virginia and Maryland before moving to Pensacola in 1973 and he attended W. J. Woodham High School and Pensacola Jr. College. He joined the US Army in 1977 and afterwards did tree service work and also worked as a taxi driver as well as owning his own taxicab. Steve loved music and played the guitar and harmonica equally well. He was quite the storyteller, enjoyed stamp collecting and writing poetry. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends and was very devoted to his pets. Steve made friends everywhere he went and his friendships have endured throughout his lifetime.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Peggy Joyce Langston; and his son, Alexander Raymond Smith.
Steve is survived by his sons, Nicholas Smith, Michael (Julie) Smith, Steven (Jamie) Crumpler; grandchildren,Kayleigh Crumpler, Alexander Crumpler, Alicia Crumpler, Austin Crumpler and Summer Smith; father, Douglas Ray Smith; brother, Danny Smith; sisters, Kim Williamson, Cindy (Ernie) Boardwyne; nieces, Jennifer Boardwyne, Jamie (Tyler) Thompson, nephews; David (Nichole) Boardwyne, Benjamin Williamson, Justin Williamson, Brandon Williamson; great-nephew, Samson Boardwyne and his beloved pets; Oggie and Suzy. He is also survived by a special friend Marylda Alves.
A Memorial service is being held in celebration of Steve’s life on Sunday, March 13, 2016, with visitation from 2 p.m. until 3p.m. with the Memorial Service following at 3 p.m. at Faith Chapel Funeral Home North.

Margaret Troutman Lockwood passed away March 6, 2016, following a brief illness.
A native of Atmore and most of her life here, she worked at McNeely and Fayard Jewelers for over 20 years.
Those left to cherish her memories are two daughters and one son, Deborah Soderlind, Shelia Ross and Clark Hill; eight grandchildren, Jeffery and Bryan Soderlind, Amy, Misty and Lacey Ross, Rob, Drew and Megan Hill; nine great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She is also survived by two devoted sisters, Ouida McGill and Doris Cooper.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Harold D. Lockwood; her parents, Maggie and Carl Troutman; two brothers, Fred and Leon Troutman; and sister, Mary Mayson.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, March 8, 2016, from Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home with Rev. Arnold Hendrix, pastor of Atmore First Baptist Church officiating.
Burial followed in Oak Hill Cemetery.
Active pallbearers were her nephews and grandchildren.
The family extends a special thanks to Dr. Frances Salter, Atmore Home Care nurse Latressa Wilson and a devoted friend Patsy Alverson.
Thanks also extended to The Meadows Living Home for her short stay.

Robert W. Malone, Sr.

Robert W. Malone, Sr., 79, of Pensacola, was called home March 3, 2016. Robert was raised in Batesville, Mississippi, where he was taught to be a hard worker. From his teenage years he helped his mother and brothers provide for the family as a sharecropper growing food and cotton. After high school Robert enlisted in the United States Navy and served his country proudly for 25 years. He had a colorful Naval career marked with numerous medals and awards. He served in Vietnam with the River Assault Squadrons. While there, he was awarded the Silver Star Medal for Intrepidity and Gallantry, the Bronze Star medal with Valor for Heroic Achievement, both of which were presented by the United States President. He also was awarded the Navy Commendation Medal with Valor and Meritorious Service, Navy Achievement, Combat Action Ribbon, Presidential Unit Citation, Meritorious Unit Citation, Good Conduct Medal, National Defense, Vietnam Campaign, Vietnam Service. He also served on the USS Ticonderoga as an Independent Duty Corpsman (IDC), where he provided health care services for Apollo 16, Apollo 17 and Sky Lab 1, astronaut recovery missions. While on the USS Ticonderoga he also earned his Shellback.
Robert continued his hard work throughout his life, where he raised a family of three, while continuing his college education in the evening and weekends. He received his BSBM in Health Care Services from Southern Illinois (SIU). After retirement from the US Navy as Command Master Chief, he worked for Baxter and retired from Humana Health Care as a Director of Operations. Robert was a member of the Knights of Columbus 4th degree (assembly 156), Veterans of Foreign Wars, The American Legion (Post 340) and he also volunteered at Convenient Hospice, bringing cheer to many. In is off time he enjoyed camping with his wife. They were members of the Good Sams Club (142). From his childhood, he was an outdoorsman who liked to hunt, fish, camp and ride motorcycles and off-roading in Jeeps.
He is preceded in death by his father, Robert Malone; his mother, Jessie Riales; and his sister, Wanda Carol Malone.
He is survived by his loving wife, Theresa Malone and children, Debra Dodd (Richard), Jacqueline Bickle, (David) and Robert Malone Jr.; brothers, Charles Malone (Carol), and Floyd Malone (Grace); grandchildren, Brittney Hazard, Joseph Brown, Katrina Bretz, David Bickle, Jr., Robert “Weston” Malone III, Kaylee Malone and Richard W.R. Dodd; great-grandchildren, Maycee Stolsig, Aubrielle and Madeline Hazzard Maximo Bretz, Emma Stolsig, Zaire Hazard.

Quilla Jay Mason Hall

Mrs. Quilla Jay Mason Hall, 89, passed away on Friday, March 4, 2016, in Atmore.
Mrs. Hall was a native of Uriah, former resident of Walnut Hill, and a resident of Atmore for the past 50 years. Mrs. Hall owned the first H&R Block tax office in Atmore and owned and operated Hall’s Income Tax for 43 years. She was a member of the New Beginning Ministries. She is preceded in death by her two husbands, Orville Mason and Stiner Hall; parents, Frank and Quilla Jay; three brothers and two sisters.
She is survived by her two daughters, Ruby Phillippi of Atmore and Gayle (Thurl) Pearson of Atmore; 16 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Monday, March 7, 2016, at the Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home with Rev. C.L. Langford and Rev. Thurl Pearson officiating.
Burial was in the Walnut Hill Baptist Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Jay Nichols, Eric Strehl, Daniel Higdon, Judd Arnold, Dakota Lundy and Jamerson Nelson.
Honorary pallbearers were Buddy Strehl, Jimmy Jay, Lawrence Brantley, Jimmy Mason, Ellis Mason and Muff Pharrls.

Grover Allen Minchew, 64 of Atmore, passed away Sunday, February 28, 2016, in Atmore. He was retired from Alabama River Pulp. He was born in Nokomis, AL, on March 2, 1951, to the late Grover L. and Lizzie Harris Minchew. He attended First Assembly of God of Atmore.
Survivors are his wife, Mary Ann McKinley Minchew of Atmore; two sons, Travis (Michelle) Minchew of Brewton and Allen (Christie) Minchew of Crestview; one daughter, Amanda (Chuck) Thompson of Flomaton; one brother, Bill (Pam) Minchew of Monroeville; one sister, Nettie Hollingsworth of Atmore; and seven grandchildren.
Graveside services were held Monday, March 7, 2016, at 11 a.m. in McCullough Cemetery with Bro. Drew Minchew and Bro. Allen Minchew officiating.
Interment followed in McCullough Cemetery.

Betty Jane McNeill

On the evening of March 6, 2016, Betty passed away at the Joyce Goldenberg Covenant Hospice Facility in Pensacola, surrounded by her family and pastor.
Betty was born in Andalusia, AL on August 12, 1939, and was married to and preceded in death by her husband of 48 years, Preston H. McNeill and one child, Jonathan McNeill.
She is survived by her children, grandchildren and great-children as follows: Gregory (Carolyn) McNeill, Carrie Waters and Waylon McNeill; Pam (Carl) Denham, Cory Denham and Lucas Litchfield, Cortney (Kaleb) Bowden; Sean McNeill, Caleb McNeill and Annie McNeill.
Betty was a plant enthusiast and enjoyed the beautiful yard that she and Preston built and planted during their many years together. Their yard has always been admired by family, friends and neighbors and especially enjoyed in the spring when it is full of blooms of all colors. She was a loving and giving mother who always put others first. She also enjoyed cooking and baking for those she loved, her fried chicken will be missed by many. She was a sweet, quiet and kind friend to many and she will be greatly missed.
Visitation will be held at Clear Springs United Methodist Church, Wednesday, March 9, 2016, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.
Funeral services will be held at the Clear Springs United Methodist Church on Thursday, March 10, 2016, at 10 a.m.
Interment will follow at Clear Spring Cemetery.

Mrs. Ida Mae Morris, 92, passed away on Monday, March 7, 2016, in Jay.
Mrs. Morris was a native of Repton, Alabama and a resident of Century since 1953. She was an employee of the Florida Line Café in South Flomaton, Milky Way, and manager of the first deli of Piggly Wiggly. She managed McCurdy Dairy Bar, Nall’s Grocery Jr. Food, Job Service, Family and Children Service and Chamber of Commerce. She was a member of the Cannan Baptist Church.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Martin L. Morris; parents, Lizzie and Jerry Odom; three brothers; two sisters; and daughter-in-law, Danette Morris.
Survivors include her son, Buddy Morris of Flomaton; two daughters, Sue and Kenneth Hall of Brewton and Voncille and W.L. Tyree of Century; four grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and 15 great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be Friday, March 11, 2016, at 2 p.m. at the Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home with Rev. Doug Odom officiating.
Visitation will be Thursday, March 10, 2016, from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. at the Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home.
Burial will follow at the McCurdy Cemetery.
