Mrs. Martha Shiver Walker, 68, passed away on Wednesday, September 21, 2016, in Atmore, Alabama.

Mrs. Walker was a native and resident of Atmore. She was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother and teacher. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Atmore.

She is preceded in death by her parents, John and Myrtle Shiver.

She is survived by her husband, David Walker of Atmore; two sons, Brian (Mary Dodd) Walker of Atlanta, GA and Jonathan (Lowery) Walker of Auburn, AL; one daughter, Laura (Josh) Mixon of Spanish Fort, AL; one brother, Jeff (Laura) Shiver of West Lafayette, IN and five granddaughters, Madelyn Mixon, Martha Grace Mixon, Millison Mixon, Mary Morgan Walker and Martha Rudd Walker.

Funeral services will be Saturday, September 24, 2016, at 10 a.m. at the First Baptist Church of Atmore with Rev. Arnold Hendrix officiating. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until service time at 10 a.m.

Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery.

William G. Hill

September 21, 2016

Mr. William G. Hill, 76, passed away on Monday, September 19, 2016, in Flomaton, Alabama.

Mr. Hill was a native of Sylvester, GA and has resided in Flomaton for the past 30 years. Mr. Hill was retired from the Alabama State Correction System, was a member of the American Quarter Horse Association and Unity Baptist Church.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Judy Hill; parents, Emmett and Quida Hill; and brother, James Jimmy Hill.

He is survived by his two sons, Donald Hill of Fort White, FL and Brian Hill of Brunson, FL; five daughters, Linda Douglas of Fort White, FL, Debra Hill of Brunson, FL, Tonya Black of Walnut Hill, FL, Tasha Hill of Flomaton and Sonya Hill of Pennsylvania; 13 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be Friday, September 23, 2016, at 2 p.m. at the Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home with Rev. Al Bethea officiating.

Visitation will be Thursday, September 22, 2016, from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. at the Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be Jeremiah Walston, Brandon Sutton, Chad Cook, Derrek Price, Cody Pridgen and Caleb Sutton.

Honorary pallbearers will be Dakota Sutton and Brayden Sutton.

James “Pete” Tipton

James “Pete” Tipton went home to be with the Lord on September 18, 2016. He was an active member of Cottage Hill UMC.

He is preceded in death by James W. Tipton Sr., father; Marjorie Tipton, mother; and Doug Tipton, brother.

He is survived by his wife Teresa; children, James (Saunya) Tipton, Emilee (Nick) Newton, and Sarah (John) Hassebrock; 12 grandchildren and one great grandchild.

There will be a service on Thursday, September 22, 2016, at Highland Baptist Church, Molino with a visitation from 5-7 p.m. Service begins at 7 p.m. Trahan Family Funeral Home of Pensacola is in charge of arrangements.

Katie Rae Reynolds

Katie Rae Reynolds, 93, a resident of Greenville, AL, died at Crowne Health & Rehab on Thursday, September 15, 2016.

Mrs. Reynolds was preceded in death by her husband, Lonnie Reynolds; infant daughter, Nelda Kate Reynolds and sister, Avonelle Reynolds.

She is survived by her son, Patrick Reynolds (Willene) of Greenville, AL; daughter, Kathy D. Starr (Jack) of Caledonia, MS; grandchildren, William Reynolds (Jane) of Walnut Hill, FL, and Christy Shivers of Smyrna, TN; great-grandchildren, Ashley Nicole Scott, Matthew Jaden Shivers both of Smyrna, TN, Bethany Cheyenne Reynolds of Pensacola, FL, and Sara Delaney Reynolds of Walnut Hill, FL; great-great-grandson, Caden Alexander Maheu of Smyrna, TN; brothers, Terry K. Phelps of Madison, AL, and Jeff Phelps (Barbara) of Honoraville, AL, and many nieces, nephews and other family members.

The funeral service will be Sunday, September 18, 2016, at 3:00 p.m. from the chapel of Dunklin & Daniels Funeral Home in Greenville, AL, with Reverend Jerry Hogwood and Reverend Bruce Coker officiating and Dunklin & Daniels Funeral Home directing Burial will follow at Damascus Baptist Church Cemetery. Joann Deriemacker

Joann Deriemacker, 71, of Pensacola, FL, passed away on September 13, 2016. Joann was born in Mobile, AL on March 20, 1945. She married David Deriemacker on August 4, 1962. They were married 54 years. Joann was a full-time homemaker and was devoted to her family. She was also a proud member of the Poarch Band of Creek Indians.

Joann is preceded in death by her mother, Mary Virginia Dorman, and her father, Willis Loyd Ealy.

She is survived by her husband Dave and five children, Richard Deriemacker, Tina Holley, Robert Deriemacker, Janeen Boothe and David Deriemacker,Jr., all of Pensacola, FL. Joann is also survived by seven siblings, Phillip Ealy, Roy Ealy, Kay Simmons, Lynn Woodcock, Jessie Dorman, Paula Clemens and Sue Henry; 20 grandchildren, Brittney Williams, Brandon Lockett, Bridgette Holley, Brody Holley, Blake Holley, Braxton Holley, Bryce Holley, Braden Holley, Trent Deriemacker, Ariel Watson, Tyler Deriemacker, Reed Deriemacker, Raina Deriemacker, Darian Decker, Thomas James (TJ) Deriemacker, Hayden Ealy, Jayce Deriemacker, Haley Workman, Aylana Boothe, Maddox Boothe; 13 great-grandchildren, Alexis Malley, Nickolas (Bubba) Malley, Talan Williams, Mason Williams, Levi Williams, Liam Cole, Andy Norman, Halena Deriemacker, Brennan Deriemacker, Bobby (JJ) Whitmire, IV, Joanna Orlando, Branson Orlando, Baby Orlando; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Berry Lynn Ross

Berry Lynn Ross, 47 of Poarch, AL, passed away on Monday, September 12, 2016, in Atmore. He was a member of the Poarch Band of Creek Indians and served on the Tribal Council. He born in Pasadena, TX on July 3, 1969, to Eugene R. and Marilyn Morris Ross.

He is preceded in death by his father, Eugene R. Ross; and grandparents, M.C. and Hattie Lou Morris.

Survivors include his wife, Melissa Freeman Ross of Poarch, AL; two sons, Elliot Gene Ross and Troy Lynn Ross, both of Poarch, AL; one brother, Steven (Regina) Ross of Poarch, AL; and many aunts, uncles, family and friends.

Services were held Friday, September 16, 2016, at the Friendly Holiness Church, with Bro. Benny Stokes and Bro. Johnny Stabler officiating.

Interment was in New Home Cemetery.

Active pallbearers were Burl Wiggins, Odell McGhee, Marion McGhee, Darrell Hollinger, Jerrel Hollinger, James Bagwell, Rusty Lassitter and Clint Lassitter.

Honorary pallbearers was the Poarch Creek Indian Tribal Council.

Tinie Bell Barlow Minchew

Mrs. Tinie Bell Barlow Minchew, 78, passed away on Thursday, September 15, 2016, in Pensacola, FL.

Mrs. Minchew was a native of Nokomis, FL, former resident of Davisville, FL and had resided in Atmore, AL for the past 10 years. Mrs. Minchew was a foster care parent for many years for probably 100+ kids. She loved to sew, cook and can. She always placed others before herself and loved God above all. She was a member of the Calvary Deliverance Church.

She is preceded in death by her husband, L.B. Minchew; one son, Douglas Gordon Minchew; parents, Charlie and Stella Barlow; two brothers, Yearl Barlow and Jessie Lee Barlow; and one sister, Loise Ganey.

She is survived by one son, Danny (Lavene) Minchew of Booneville, AL; four daughters, Glenda “Becky” Adams of Davisville, FL, Ruthie (Ray) Dunn of Atmore, AL, Dorothy (Billy) Martin of Davisville, FL and Natalie Minchew of Lakeland, FL; one sister, Lucille Bruley of Atmore, AL; nine grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be Sunday, September 18, 2016, at 2 p.m. at the Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home with Rev. Paul Enfinger officiating.

Burial will follow at Antioch Cemetery.

Visitation will be Saturday, September 17, 2016, from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at the Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home.

Dale Walker Mitchell

Dale Walker Mitchell, 62, of Pensacola, FL, passed away August 24, 2016, surrounded by his closet friends. Dale was born November 14, 1954, in Pensacola to Roy and Dorothy Mitchell.

After graduating from high school, Dale joined his friends on the music circuit, serving as roadie for the local band, Lemon Slack, until his desire for a more routine life led him to go to
work at Monsanto (now Ascend) in 1974 were he worked until his retirement a few years ago.

Dale was preceded in death by his father and mother.

He is survived by his aunt, Stella Margaret Gatlin and numerous cousins and several close friends.

A graveside service will be held on Saturday, September 24, 2016, at 10 a.m. in Magnolia Cemetery in DeFuniak Springs, FL, with the Rev. Joel Glenn officiating.

Jane Coreene Tillery Melvin Gulsby

Jane Coreene Tillery Melvin Gulsby, 74 of Seminole, AL, passed away on September 10, 2016, in Pensacola, FL to go be with the Lord. She was born on July 10, 1942, to the late William (Bill) and Enda (Winky) Sirmon Tillery in Garland, Alabama. She worked many years with Vanity Fair Mills in Atmore. She also served two years in the National Guard Armory. She lived in many places including Bratt, FL, Atmore, AL, Gretna, LA, the Netherlands, Europe, United Arab Emirates and Abu Dhabi, Dubai, then resided in Seminole, AL.

She is preceded in death by her husband, James Merel Gulsby; parents; and sister, Jean Tillery.

She is survived by her six children, Randy (Sherry) Melvin of Stockton, AL, Rodney Melvin of Seminole, AL, Kathy Melvin Fayard of Gulf Shores, AL, Dewayne (Brenda) Gulsby of Franklinton, LA, Samuel (Ann) Gulsby of Northport, AL and Darryl Keith (Mary) Gulsby of Franklinton, LA; three brothers and two sisters, David (Judy) Tillery of Atmore, AL, Lamar “Buddy” (Elsia) Tillery of Magnolia Springs, AL, Frederick Tillery of Stockton, AL, Debbie (Van) Woods of Atmore, AL and Pam (Jeff) Rehorn of Fairhope, AL; 10 grandchildren, Latasha Jackson, Jessica Long, Kaylee Fayard, Cody Fayard, Kevin Gulsby, Dakota Gulsby, Michael Gulsby, Crystal Wilbur, Salena Koehn and James Curtis Gulsby; 13 great-grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, September 13, 2016, at the Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home with Rev. Ricky Skaggs officiating.

Burial was at the Oak Hill Cemetery.

Nadean Musgrove Etheridge

Nadean Musgrove Etheridge passed away peacefully at home September 9, 2016. She was born October 10, 1942, in Pensacola, Florida to the late Cecil and Elvena Musgrove. Nadean married Robert W. Etheridge on December 30, 1960, and had two children, Robert W. Etheridge II and Philip Jeffrey Etheridge.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Robert; sister, Mary (Jerry) Skates; and brother, Grady Musgrove.

She is survived by her sons, Robert and Jeff (Janet) Etheridge; grandson, John (Jennifer) Etheridge; the great-grandsons she adored, John Raymond and Jagger Etheridge; sisters-in-law, Robbie Musgrove and Shirley (Fred) Cornett; and brother-in-law, Harry (Veronica) Etheridge; cousins, nieces and nephews; beloved donkey, Jack and bassett hound, Chip.

Pallbearers were Robert Etheridge II, Jeff Etheridge, John Etheridge, Mike Hudson, Glenn Thrower, and Tim Baruth.

Graveside services will be held on Wednesday, September 14, 2016, at 10 a.m. at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church Cemetery, 9301 Gulf Beach Highway.
