Betty Marshall Burkett, 78 of Atmore, AL, passed away Tuesday, May 30, 2017, in Atmore, AL. She was a retired secretary from Alabama Power Company after many years of service. She was born in Atmore, AL on March 9, 1939, to the late Elmer Earl and Ruth Cole Marshall. She was a member of The First Presbyterian Church of Atmore.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Roy L. Burkett; and one brother, Franklin Marshall.
Survivors include one son, Jason Eric Burkett; and one daughter, Christy Burkett (David) Neff, all of Atmore, AL; and one granddaughter, Lisa Coleen Neff of Phoenix, AZ.
Services will be held Friday, June 2, 2017, at 11 a.m. from Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jim Thorpe officiating.
Interment will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery.
Family will receive friends on Friday, June 2, 2017, at Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home from 10 a.m. until service time at 11 a.m.

Mrs. Lilly Miller Wells, 77, passed away on Sunday, May 28, 2017, in Atmore, Alabama.
Mrs. Wells was a native of Wallace, AL and had resided in Atmore, AL for most of her life. She is preceded in death by her father and mother, Johnny Miller and Elsie Burch; three sisters and two brothers.
She is survived by one sister, Shirley Kenney of Atmore, AL; a number of nieces and nephews and a special great-nephew, D’Angelo Riley of Bay Minette, AL.
Graveside services were held Tuesday, May 30, 2017, at the Flomaton Cemetery with Bro. Ronnie Macks officiating.

Michael John McKenzie, 29 of Atmore, AL, passed away Sunday, May 21, 2017, in Atmore. He was a warehouse worker with PCI. He was born in Mobile, AL, on September 25, 1987, to Troy Francis and Tammy Lynam McKenzie. He is preceded in death by his father, Troy Francis McKenzie; brother, William McKenzie; and cousin, Timothy “Gooley” Hayes, Jr.
Survivors include his wife, Jessica McIlwain McKenzie; mother, Tammy (Chris Burklund) McKenzie; grandmother, Bonnie Brown; step-father, Skeeter Crochet, Sr.; children, Shawn, Hunter, Hailey and Kailey McKenzie; brothers, Stephen (Dana) McKenzie, Nathan “Lil Shane” Powell and Skeeter “Bug” Crochet, Jr; one sister, Ashely McKenzie; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and extended family and friends.
Services were held Thursday, May 25, 2017, at the Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Malcom Harrelson and Bro. Keith Lisenby officiating.
Active pallbearers were Randall Morris, James Smith III, Sketter Crohett, Billy Griffis, Keith Brown, Rudy Lynam, Justin McGhee, and Lance Hodges.

Dennis Scott Perritt

Dennis Scott Perritt, 54, of McDavid, FL passed away May 19, 2017, in Pensacola, FL. He was born on March 7, 1963 in Milton, FL.
He is preceded in death by his mother and stepfather, Etheleen and Thomas Weekley.
He is survived by his loving wife, Elizabeth H. Perritt of McDavid, FL; two sons, Gregory (Danielle) Perritt of Molino, FL; Jason Perritt of McDavid, FL; one daughter, Sarah Perritt of McDavid, FL; one grandson, Scout Perritt; two brothers, Jeff (Elaine) Perritt of Jay, FL and Barry (Melanie) Perritt of Pace, FL; his father, Joe Perritt of Pace, FL. His Aunt Carol Perritt was particularly special to him, as was a host of nieces, nephews, and all of his extended family.
Scott was employed with Alabama Power Company as a Fleet Technician for many years, and was well known and respected throughout the company. He leaves behind a large work family who will miss his heart of service and his quick wit.
A memorial service was held Thursday, May 25, 2017, at Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Stephen Houser officiating.

Dottie Hayes Burdick, 92 of Atmore, AL, passed away Sunday, May 21, 2017, in Atmore. She was a homemaker. She was born in Monroe County on July 7, 1924, to the late Riley and Grace David Hayes.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Joseph Burdick; and one son, Donald Hadley; 10 brothers and sisters.
Survivors include her daughter, Imogene Boyington of Atmore; one sister, Gracie Mae Keymon of TN; seven grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; 31 great-great-grandchildren and four great-great-great-grandchildren.
Services were held Wednesday, May 24, 2017, from the Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home Chapel with Sis. Helen Stewart officiating.
Interment was in Oak Hill Cemetery.
Active pallbearers were Jimmie Boyington, J.D. Boyington, Dustin Boyington, Billy Jr. Davis, Ashley Salter and Joe Smith.

Mrs. Margaret Ann Mayo Bryan, 87, passed away on Tuesday, May 23, 2017, in Jay, Florida.
Mrs. Bryan was a native of Century, FL and has resided in Poplar Dell, FL for the past 68 years. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was a member of the Poplar Dell Baptist Church. She is preceded in death by her son, Fred Bryan.
She is survived by her husband of 68 years, W.A. Bryan of Poplar Dell, FL; one son, Bill (Jeri) Bryan of Cabot, AR; one daughter, Ann (Bill) Baker of Sarasota, FL; one sister, Claire Westmark of Pensacola, FL; two grandchildren, Greg Bryan and Meredith Baker; and three great-grandchildren, Chris, Haden and Caitlin.

Thelma H. Heathcock 82, of Walnut Hill, FL passed away Thursday, May 18, 2017, at her residence. She was retired as a payroll secretary with Southland/Frontier Telephone company. She was born in Nokomis, FL on April 3, 1935, to the late Jake and Bessie Joyner Holloingsworth.
She is preceded in death by her parents; son, Jeffery Heathcock; and brother, Eldred Hollingsworth.
Survivors include he son, John (Maryanne) Heathcock of Walnut Hill, FL; two brothers, Paul (Linda) Hollingsworth of Robertsdale, AL and Dewayne (Barbara) Hollingsworth of Enon, FL; sister-in-law, Pat Hollingswoth of Nokomis, FL; grandchildren, Talana (Rickey) Smith, Riverly Heathcock and Bowyn Heathcock; and special caretaker, Debbie Weaver.
Services were held Monday, May 22, 2017, at the Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Pete Coon officiating.
Interment was in Hollingsworth Cemetery.

Mr. Marvin Jerry Haynie, 79, passed away on Wednesday, May 17, 2017, in Pensacola, Florida.
Mr. Haynie was a native and former resident of Anniston, AL and had resided in Century, FL for the past 59 years. He was a veteran in the U.S. Navy, retired from Century Correctional Facility and was an avid fisherman. He was a member of the Bratt First Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Doris York Haynie of Bratt, FL; two sons, Stanley Earl Haynie of Bratt, FL and Marvin “Tony” (Kathy) Haynie, Sr. of Bratt, FL; one brother, Johnnie Winnie of Anniston, AL; four grandsons, Brandon Haynie, Derek Haynie, Clayton Stacey and Marvin “T.J.” Haynie, Jr. and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
Funeral services were held Monday, May 22, 2017, at the Bratt First Baptist Church with Mr. Tom Smith officiating.
Burial was at the Godwin Cemetery.

Helen “Joyce” Taylor Bennink, age 75, of Barrineau Park, FL, was called home Thursday, May 18, 2017. She was born May 28, 1941, in Pensacola, FL, to the late Brooks and Helen Taylor. Joyce graduated from Pensacola High School, class of 1959, before attending Asbury Methodist College. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Pensacola. Joyce was a talented artist and member of the Art Study Club, Quayside Art Gallery and offered private art instruction. She is preceded in death by her parents.
Those left to cherish her memory are her devoted husband, Gary P. Bennink; and cherished daughter, Joy Bennink; siblings, Kenneth (Claire) Taylor, Anita (Richard) Joiner, Gerald (Patsy) Taylor and William Douglas Taylor; sister-in-law, Deanna Bennink Williams; and many nieces, nephews, and extended family.
A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, May, 26, 2017, at the First United Methodist Church, 6 E Wright St, Pensacola, FL 32501.

Mrs. Janie Blackmon Dews, 70, passed away on Monday, May 15, 2017, in Pensacola, Florida.
Mrs. Dews was a native of Bratt, FL, former resident of Pensacola, FL and had resided in Cantonment, FL for the past year. Mrs. Dews was a veteran of the U.S. Army, hospice volunteer and a member of the Central Chapel. She is preceded in death by her husband, Willie Thomas Dews; parents, George and Leonora Blackmon; sister and brother-in-law, Louise and Joe Sanders; sisters, Connie Garrity and Winnie Blackmon; brother-in-law, Bernie Wiggins; and daughter-in-law, Julia Castillo.
She is survived by her four sons, Mark Castillo of Long Island, NY, Christopher Shane Castillo of Long Island, NY, Craig (Dawn Marie) Castillo of Long Island, NY and Heath (Brittany) Dews of Pensacola, FL; one daughter, Carissa (Kyle) Sheppard of Cantonment, FL; one sister, Florine Wiggins of Bratt, FL; and six grandchildren, Amanda Castillo, Jessica Castillo, Craig Castillo, Mark Castillo, Domnik Gunderson and Aiden Dews.
Funeral services will be held Friday, May 19, 2017, at 3 p.m. at the Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home with Rev. Clayton McCormick and Rev. Rick Maharrey officiating.
