Ruby Joe Bonds Baggett

Mrs. Ruby Joe Bonds Baggett went home to be with our Lord on November 30, 2016.

Mrs. Baggett was born in Flomaton, Alabama on September 22, 1934. She was a resident of Pensacola, Florida. She married Mr. Clifford K. Baggett, Sr. on July 19, 1953. Mrs. Baggett retired from Bellsouth as a maintenance administrator after 38 years of service.

Her entire life has been one of service to God, her church, family and friends. She has served as a member of Pine Forrest Assembly of God Church for many years.

Her passing will leave a huge void and she will be greatly missed by many. She is preceded in death by her father, Mr. Joel Richardson Bonds; her mother, Mrs. Sara Bell Pittman Bonds; her husband, Clifford K. Baggett, Sr.; four brothers, Jessie Joel Bonds, Willie Ray “Bill” Bonds, Clarence E. Bonds, and Jewel R. Bonds; sister, Sallie Mae Bonds Moye; and her granddaughter Chloe M. Baggett.

She is survived by her brother, Thomas Bonds of Pensacola; sons, Clifford K. (Stacie) Baggett and Charles R. Colwell; five grandchildren, Seabrin (Hanna) Blocker, Blayne Blocker, Jessica (Jeff) Warren, Bryce Baggett and Savannah Baggett; five great-grandsons, Bradley Henderson, Ace and Zayden Blocker, Lincoln and Carson Warren; and numerous nieces and nephews; life-long friends, Laura Vaughn (Niece), Dolly Williams, Mary Lou Jernigan and Sara Fillingim.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, December 7, 2016, at Eastern Gate Memorial Funeral Home with Pastor Gene Hudson officiating.

Family would like to thank Sacred Heart ICU for their long-term, loving care.

Ms. Donna Loraine Martin, age 36 of Flomaton, AL, passed away on Friday December 2, 2016.

Ms. Martin was born in Norfolk, VA, and had been a resident of Flomaton for 18 years coming from Pensacola, FL. She was of the Baptist faith and a homemaker.

She is survived by her father, Jerry Lee Midget of Ft. Sumter, VA; her mother, Janet Rose Wolfe of Milton, FL; sons, Shannon Bailey Martin of Flomaton, AL and Brennan Jackson Martin of Flomaton, AL; daughters, Sarah Katelyn Martin of Flomaton, AL and Abigail Denise Martin of Flomaton, AL; brother, Billy Nosay of Milton, FL; sister, Kristen Johnson of Pensacola, FL.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 7, 2016, at Flomaton Funeral Home Chapel from 6-8 p.m.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, December 8, 2016, at Flomaton Funeral Home Chapel at 2 p.m.

Pallbearers will be Shannon Martin, Bailey Martin, Isaiah Day, Joshua Day, Adam Martin, Billy Nosay.

Honorary pallbearers will be Jaxson Martin, Gary Posey, Kenny Higdon.

Interment will follow in Poplar Dell Cemetery, Century, FL.

Mary Alice Merchant

December 5, 2016

Mrs. Mary Alice Merchant, 68, passed away on Wednesday, November 30, 2016, in Century, Florida.

Mrs. Merchant was a native and lifelong resident of Christian Home, FL. She was a member of the Christian Home Freewill Baptist Church. She is preceded in death by her husband, Steve Merchant; son, Tony Merchant; parents, Karl and Sarah Victor; two grandchildren, Steven Still and Jackson Still; sister, Kathy Hall and niece, Angel Hall.

She is survived by her three sons, Ronnie (Rosie) Merchant of Jay, FL, Erik (Libby) Merchant of Franklin, AL and Nathan Merchant of Christian Home, FL; one daughter, Renee (John Still) Merchant of McCullough, AL; four brothers, Phillip Victor of Christian Home, FL, Johnny Victor of Flomaton, AL, Jimmy Victor of Bratt, FL and Donnie (Sandra) Victor of Wawbeek, AL; two sisters, Faye Victor of Christian Home, FL and Janie (Billy) Criswell of Christian Home, FL; and 12 grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Monday, December 5, 2016, at the Christian Home Freewill Baptist Church with Rev. Alfred Long and Rev. Josh Long officiating.

Burial was at the Christian Home Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Timothy Victor, J.C. Victor, Jay Young, Michael Merchant, Josh Merchant and Hayden Thrower.

Honorary pallbearers were Jason Victor, James Victor, John Victor and Tyler Cofield.

Joseph Floyd Boutwell

Joseph Floyd Boutwell, Jr. 58, of Atmore, AL, passed away Thursday, December 1, 2016, in Atmore. He was employed many years with Brantley’s Tires. He was born in Perdido, AL on February 7, 1958, to the late Joseph Floyd and Cathleen Weaver Boutwell, Sr.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Elizabeth Boutwell and a brother, Robert Boutwell.

Survivors include his children, Jeffery Richardson, Emily Boutwell, John (Mandy) Salter and Joseph (Autumn Harrison) Boutwell, III all of Huxford, AL; Robbie (Nickie) Tuberville of Monroeville, AL and Joie Lynn Vickery of Bay Minette; three brothers, Jessie (Debbie) Boutwell of Flomaton, AL, Destry Boutwell and Rodney (Rhonda) Boutwell, all of Perdido, AL; two sisters, Janie Dorriety of Lottie, AL and Bernice (Lamar) Hadley of Perdido, AL; and nine grandchildren.

Services were held Monday, December 5, 2016, from Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home Chapel, with Sis. Helen Stewart officiating.

Interment was in McCullough Cemetery.

Active pallbearers were Jaylon “Ty” Weaver, Toby Boutwell, Mitch Hayles, Charles Williams, Lamar Hadley and Steve Emmons.

Harold Lee Milstead, Jr.

December 5, 2016

Harold Lee Milstead Jr., 43, of Cantonment went to be with his heavenly father Saturday, November 26, 2016.

He was of Pentecostal faith and was baptized by Rev. Ken Johnson of East Side Assembly of God. He loved the Lord, studied his bible, was an encouragement to his friends, and dedicated to his two boys and was “Pops” to his new grandson, Jayce. He was so proud of this new addition to his family. He will be missed by his companion and beloved dog, Kelli.

He is survived by his two sons and a grandson, William Wyatt Milstead (Caitlin) and Dillon Gage Milstead; grandson, Jayce Milstead; parents, Larry and Diane Mauldin and Harold and Debbie Milstead; three sisters and one brother, Melissa (Steve) Whisler, Sandy (Jocke) Borg, Angie (Reese) Whitson and Roy (Kara) Mauldin.

Harold was very intelligent. He was an awesome draftsman and sheet metal fabricator. He was able to design and build anything in metal. He worked for Better Built and United Welding in Perry. He was a shop foreman at both places. He loved hunting and fishing. Hunting was his favorite thing. He loved trees and being in the woods. He was loved and respected by everyone. He went with sunshine in his heart and smile on his face. He will be deeply missed by all who loved him.

Funeral services were held Monday, December 5, 2016, at the Faith Chapel Funeral Home North with Reverend Ken Johnson officiating.

Interment was at Pensacola Memorial Gardens..

Mary Cynthia McCloud Sellers

Mary Cynthia McCloud Sellers, 48, went to be with the Lord on November 27, 2016. Cindy, as she was known to her friends and loved ones, was a devoted grandmother, mother, wife, sister, aunt and friend. She lived for her family and loved nothing more than being with her family. Cindy was a member of Pensacola Deliverance Temple and loved watching wrestling or her favorite team the Georgia Bulldogs.

She is preceded in death by her mother, Mary Warwick Collins McCloud and her father, Marvin Eugene McCloud.

She is survived by the love of her life of 27 years, Amos J. Sellers; her children, Amos D. Sellers, James Martin Sellers and Jessica Sellers; six grandchildren, Destiny Demars, Mackenzie Sellers, Autumn Sasser, Brian Sasser, Noah Sasser and Nathen Sasser; daughters-in-law, Laura Sellers and Gabrielle Sellers; her sisters, Kathy Wheeler, Maybeth Norman, and Melessa Alley; her step-mother, Ida Mae Webb; along with numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A celebration of her life was held at Faith Chapel North on Saturday, December 3, 2016.

Interment was at Sellersville Cemetery in McLellan, FL.

Robert Jarrod Peebles

December 4, 2016

Robert Jarrod Peebles was born August 10, 1979, in Atmore and passed away suddenly December 3, 2016.

He was preceded in death by his mother Donna Peebles, maternal grandparents Bobby and Joyce Benefield, and paternal grandfather Wilborn Peebles.

Survivors include his wife Jean Peebles; three daughters, Gabbie, Dakota, and Becca, and Tori Grammer, who was like a daughter to him; his father and stepmother Ricky and Becka Peebles; his brother Jason and Jennifer Peebles; his paternal grandmother Dorothy Peebles; many aunts and uncles; and a host of other close family members and friends.

Jarrod was very active in youth sports with NWE little league and softball, Ernest Ward football, and loved sharing the outdoors with his children and younger cousins.

Funeral services will be Wednesday, December 7, 2016m, at  noon at the Shiloh Baptist Church with Rev. Kevin Stotts and Rev. Delbert Redditt officiating.

Burial will follow at the Godwin Cemetery.

Visitation will be Tuesday, December 6, 2016, from 6-8 p.m. at the Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be Nick Harper, Dustin Harper, Tim Kast, Nooch Segers, Josh Edwards and Tristen Segers.

Honorary pallbearers will be Coy Peebles, Brian Burkett, Johnny Green and Brett Roberson.

James Foster Anderson

December 3, 2016

James Foster Anderson, 67, passed away on November 29, 2016.

He was born at Mobile Infirmary on June 7, 1947, to the late L.D. and Mirtis B. Anderson. He graduated from The University of Alabama in 1972 with a Bachelor’s degree from the Business school. While at Alabama he was a member of the Phi Kappa Sigma fraternity. He joined the Air force ROTC in 1967 and was a reservist until 1972.

He spent 30 years with the conservation department in Alabama serving in many roles in several state parks. He worked at Gulf state park, Cheaha, Roland Cooper, and Lakepoint. After retiring from the state, he worked with the Sheriff’s department in Escambia County, Alabama for 5 years. He subsequently went to work with the Poarch Creek Indians as a Tribal Police Officer for another five years. Spending 40 years as a police officer, he had a strong sense of duty, honor, and fairness for life. He enjoyed turkey hunting, fishing and carpentry.

He is survived by his wife, Dy-Ana Anderson; son, James Foster Anderson, II; his brother, Daulton Anderson; and his nephews, Jeff Anderson, David Anderson; and niece, Kristen Kaiser.

Funeral services were held Saturday, December 3, 2016, from The First Baptist Church of Atmore with Rev. Arnold Hendrix officiating.

Burial was in Oak Hill Cemetery.

Active pallbearers were Gary Elmore, Hugh Elmore, Butch Black, David Anderson, Brandon Smith and Julian Johnson.

Honorary pallbearers were James Norris and Bobby Davis.

Thelma Lee Craddock

December 2, 2016

Thelma Lee Craddock, 90 of Atmore, AL, passed away Tuesday, November 29, 2016, in Atmore, AL. She was employed by Vanity Fair Mills as a trainer. She was born in Canoe, AL on February 2, 1926, to the late William Wesley and Elna Bristow Lee. She was a Member of Presley Street Baptist Church.

She is preceded in death by husbands Thomas “Tom” Turk and Jack C. Craddock; grandson, Ryan Jones; and son-in-law, Chuck Jones.

Survivors include one son, William Thomas “Tommy” (Becky) Turk of Robertsdale, AL; two daughters, Annette Jones of Stockton, AL and Carolyn (Mike) Fisher of Elberta, AL; 13 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.

Services were held Thursday, December 1, 2016, from the Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Mike Grindle officiating.

Interment was in Oak Hill Cemetery.

Active pallbearers were Jim Harrison, Glendon Harrison, Dustin Harrison, Matthew Ryan and John Knight.

Honorary pallbearers were Charlotte Smith, Christie Singleton, Marsha Green, Patty Booth, and staff at The Meadows.

Lester Stokes

December 2, 2016

Mr. Lester Stokes, 97, passed away on Wednesday, November 30, 2016, in Jay, Florida.

Mr. Stokes was a native of Chancellor, AL and a resident of Jay for the past 90 years. He was in the bridge club.

He is preceded in death by his step-daughter, Gina Bethea; parents, Henry and Evie Stokes; and wife, Bessie Stokes.

He is survived by his wife, Grace Stokes of Jay, FL; one step-daughter, Denise (Matthew) Martin of Jay, FL; one step-son, Darrell (Courtney) Campbell of Jay, FL and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and cousins.

Funeral services were held Sunday, December 4, 2016, at Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home with the Mr. Richard Ash officiating.

Burial was at the Cora Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be his grandsons.
