Jean Teresa Kirkland

Jean Teresa (Walther) Kirkland, 58, of Jay, passed away from her earthly home to her heavenly home on Saturday, February 24, 2018, due to a brief illness.
Jean was born in Milton on December 25, 1959, and was a graduate of Chumuckla High School. After graduation, Jean began her employment with the Santa Rosa County Clerk’s Office in Milton. She enjoyed a successful career for over 20 years. She was most proud of her sons, Jonathan and Josh, and felt that was her greatest accomplishment. Also, for the last five years she has been consumed with pride and joy over her only granddaughter, Dixie.
Jean was preceded in death by the father of her children, Johnny Kirkland; her parents, Norman “Plug” and Grace Walther; her oldest sister, Martha (Ed) Levins; her nephew, Tim Levins; and niece, Alisa Walther.
Jean leaves behind to forever cherish her memory, her loving boys, Jonathan and Josh; and special granddaughter, Dixie. Also, she leaves behind her very best partner in crime, “wife-in-law” Patsy Kirkland, as they often referred to each other. Jean is also survived by her two sisters, Marie (Wayne) Goddard and Jane (David) Chavers; and her favorite brother, Jack (Eddnie) Walther; brother-in-law, Ed Levins; and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. on Wednesday, February 28, 2018, at Lewis Funeral Home Milton Chapel.
A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, February 28, 2018, at Coldwater Community of Christ Cemetery.
Glenn Roy Henderson

Glenn Roy Henderson, 50 of Atmore, AL, passed away Wednesday, February 21, 2018, in Atmore, AL. He was a truck driver. He was born August 3, 1967, in Fort Smith, Arkansas to Frankie and Ima Gibbs Henderson.
Survivors include his wife, Deanna Henderson of Atmore, AL; parents, Frankie and Ima Gibbs Henderson; children, Max Hill and Valeen Hill; one brother, Kenny Henderson; and two sisters, Lynn Wyatt and Jayde Henderson; and seven grandchildren.
Memorial services were held Saturday, February 24, 2018, from the United Pentecostal Church of Atmore with Rev. Derek Gobert officiating.

Eddie Pipkins Ellis, 68 of Flomaton, AL, passed away Saturday February 24, 2018, in Atmore, AL. He was a heavy equipment diesel mechanic, born on September 13, 1949, in Repton, AL, to the late Ace and Jessie Weaver Ellis.
He is preceded in death by his parents, siblings, Harry Ellis, Dudley Ellis, Mary Elizabeth Roddam, Alice E. Salter, and Dorothy P. Forte.
Survivors are his wife, Nancy Capers Ellis of Flomaton, AL; two sons, Ace (Amy) Ellis of Jones, AL, and Joshua Ellis of Flomaton, AL; two daughters, Kristy (Kristopher) Marshall of Oak Grove, FL, Carrie Ellis of Atmore, AL; seven grandchildren, Justice, Jadlyn, Alexis, Aidan, Kaylee, Aceton and Acelyn; and one brother, Carl Starrett of Texaas
Services will be Wednesday February 28, 2018, at 11 a.m. from Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home Chapel with Bro.Mike Hutto and Bro. Johnathon McCullough officiating.
Interment will follow in Dry Springs Cemetery.

Elizabeth Ann Johnson, 71 of Atmore, AL, passed away Sunday February 18, 2018, at her residence. She was a barber. She was born on April 11, 1946, in Monroeville, AL to Edward and Myrtis E. Mosley Johnson. She enjoyed the outdoors and planting flowers. She loved the Lord very much and her family and friends.
She is preceded in death by her father, Edward Johnson and son, Christopher Reynolds.
Survivors include her mother, Myrtis Hall of Atmore, AL; one son, Mike Reynolds of Alaska; one daughter, Brandy Reynolds Wohlers of Prattville, AL; two brothers, Eddie Johnson and LaDon (Annette) Hall, all of Atmore, AL; Teresa Hall of South Carolina; six grandchildren, Sidney Wohlers, Cobe Wohlers, Lilly Wohlers, Holly Wohlers, Carmen Reynolds and Matthew Wohlers; and four great-grandchildren, Amber Johnson, Keely Mendlesohn, Gabe Brown and Christian Brown.
Services will be Friday, February 23, 2018, at 1 p.m. from Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home with Pastor Rob Arrant officiating.
Interment will follow Oak Hill Cemetery.

Katie Hadley Hall, age 88, a native of Perdido, AL and a resident of Mobile, AL, passed away February 20, 2018. She is preceded in death by her husband, William Hall; parents, Clarke and Evie Hadley; two sons, Ephen Hall and Darrell Hall; sister, Virginia Hubbard; brothers, Willie Hadley and Willard Hadley; sister, Mattie Mae Boatwright.
She is survived by one loving daughter, Trudie (Winston) Hadley; and grandchildren, Bobby (Brandy) Hadley, Randy (Amanda) Hall, Janice (David) Whitehead, Jody (Sheryn) Hadley and Jeff (Cynthia) Hall; ten great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild; three brothers, William Hadley, Willis Lee Hadley and Wilburn Hadley; three sisters, Hazel Roberts, Joyce Ann Jackson and Dona Johnson; and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 24, 2018, at 2 p.m. from the Perdido Church of God with Bro. Scott Brooks officiating. Burial will follow in Lottie Methodist Church Cemetery.

Clyde Paskle Allen

Clyde Paskle Allen, 82, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family on Tuesday, February 20, 2018, at 2:55 p.m. Mr. Allen was born in Orlando, Kentucky, Rockcastle County, to Elzie and Pollie Allen. Mr. Allen joined the U.S. Navy in 1954. He was a member of the Blue Angels Maintenance Crew from 1960 to 1963, and he served as Crew Chief for the Blue Angels Maintenance Crew from 1965 to 1969. He was a life member of the Blue Angels Alumni Association. Mr. Allen retired from the U.S. Navy as a Chief Petty Officer in 1974. After retirement, he owned and operated a paint and body shop and worked at NADEP until 1993. He then opened Al’s Small Engine Repair on Jack’s Branch Road in Cantonment, where he worked until 2013.
Mr. Allen was preceded in death by his parents; beloved daughter, Debra Anita Allen; brothers, Randolph, Ernest, and Edward Allen; and sisters, Velma Jones, Merry Poynter, Gertrude Allen, and Ruby Allen.
He is survived by his wife, Helen Hardy Allen; children, Dorreen Allen, Dara Allen Guntner, and Lance Allen; sons-in-law, Barry Guntner and Andy Geoghagan; daughter-in-law, Sherrie Allen; grandchildren, Nikki, Chayne, Cheyenne, Hunter, Sadie, Jesse, Andrew, Olivia, Cam, Randall, and Logan; great-grandchildren, Colton, Layton, Kayde, and Raylynn; sisters, Geneva Anglin, Ilene Brown, and Ida Mae McClure; and many nieces and nephews.
Mr. Allen’s pallbearers are Hunter Allen, Jesse Geoghagan, Andrew Geoghagan Jr., Andrew Geoghagan, Ronnie Anglin, and Donny Allen.
His honorary pallbearers are Walker Arnold, Barry Guntner, and Sonny Holland.

Mr. Billy C. Etheridge, age 75, passed away on Sunday, February 18, 2018, at his home in Atmore, Alabama.
Mr. Etheridge was a native of Eliska, AL and had resided in Atmore, AL most of his life. He was a former auto salesman with Staff Chevrolet and Brantley Tires. He attended the Splinter Hill Holiness Church and Lottie Baptist Church. He is preceded in death by his parents, Bruce and Emmie Etheridge; wife, Joyce Bryars Etheridge; one sister, Shirley Ann Lane; and four brothers, Tom Etheridge, Wayne Etheridge, Jody Etheridge and Jerry Etheridge.
He is survived by one son, Allen Etheridge and David Rawson of Atmore, AL; one step-son, Donnie Stewart of Atmore, AL; one daughter, Cynthia Thompson of Atmore, AL; two step-daughters, Fonda Snure of Milton, AL and Rochel and Keith Martin of McCullough, AL; two sisters, Emma Phillips of Brewton, AL and Mary Shelia Bouillion of Alexandria, VA; four granddaughters, Samantha Rolin, Jessica Black, Rachel Martin and Scarlet Martin; and six great-grandchildren.

Charles Perry Anthony

Charles Perry “Tony” Anthony, was inducted into the halls of Heaven, Friday, February 16, 2018, at 11:36 a.m. from his home, with his wife and daughter at his bedside. Charles was born January 14, 1940, in Chickasha, OK. He attended and taught photo school at NAS Pensacola, serving on both the USS Antietam and the USS Ranger. While onboard the Ranger, it responded to the USS Pueblo crisis. He eventually took a job as a radio dispatcher for the Florida Highway Patrol, retiring as Chief Duty Officer after 27 years. He was proud to be a member of the Florida Highway Patrol Auxulliary for 29 years. He re-enlisted in the Army National Guard, retiring from the Army as well.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ora and Charles Anthony; siblings, Lois Atkinson and Hugh Anthony.
Tony is survived by his wife of 22 years, Elizabeth Holmes Anthony; daughter, Jeanne Kuettel (Meinrad); sons Charles Anthony, Edward Cronley (Andrea); and granddaughters, Jordan Cronley, Amber Kuettel and Kristin Kuettel.
Visitation will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, February 22, 2018, until the service begins at 12 p.m., at Faith Chapel Funeral Home North. Guyton Montgomery will officiate.
Interment will follow at Barrancas National Cemetery, NAS Pensacola.

Mr. Dennis Alvin Garrett, Sr., age 72, passed away on Tuesday, February 13, 2018, in Atmore, Alabama.
Mr. Garrett was a native of Beaumont, TX and had resided in Davisville, FL since 1993. He was a musician at heart, could play numerous instruments, loved singing and hot rods. He was of the holiness faith. He is preceded in death by his father, Samuel Garrett; oldest son, Dennis Jr.; step-daughter, Katie Lockett; brother, William Brooks Garrett; and sister, Connie Marie Garrett.
Survivors include his wife, Sara L. Garrett of Davisville, FL; mother, Mary L. Garrett (who passed on February 15, 2018); two sons, Jamie Lynn (Tracy) Garrett of Dry Springs, FL and David Garrett of Pensacola, FL; one step-son, William Lindsey Brown of Atmore, AL; one daughter-in-law, Sue Gulsby Garrett of Molino, FL; one brother, Kenneth “Sambo” (Margaret) Garrett of Bay Springs, FL; two sisters, Dianne (Doug) Murray of Daphne, AL and Donna (Randy) Hammac of Pensacola, FL; six grandchildren, Blayne Garrett, Saige Garrett, Lucas White, Susan Wyse-Wright, Gabriel Rhea and Daylan Brown; and one great grandchild, Lyndzi Wright.

Mrs. Mary Walton Garrett, age 92, passed away Thursday, February 15, 2018 at her home in Bay Springs, Florida.
Mrs. Garrett was a native of Carabelle, FL and a resident of Bay Springs, FL since 1947. She was active in the community serving as a seamstress and baker. She was a member of the Bay Springs Full Gospel Church. She is preceded in death by her husband, Samuel Alvin Garrett; two sons, William Brooks Garrett and Dennis Alvin Garrett, Sr.; one daughter, Connie Marie Garrett; two brothers, W.D. Bill Walton and John Walton and one sister, Lois Elizabeth Walton.
Survivors include one son, Kenneth “Sambo” (Margaret) Garrett of Bay Springs, FL; two daughters, Mary Dianna (Doug) Murray of Daphne, AL and Donna Jane Shaw (Randy) Hammac of Pensacola, FL; one brother, Ernest Walton of Robertsdale, AL; one sister, Minnie Mae Dunnaway of Salem, AR; one sister-in-law, Ruth Walton of Livingston, TX; twelve grandchildren; twenty great grandchildren and fifteen great great grandchildren and one daughter-in-law, Sara Garrett of Davisville, FL.
