Lewis Gaines Strawbridge, 74 of Atmore, AL passed away Thursday, February 8, 2018, at his residence. He was part of his family business at Strawbridge Machine Shop. He was born in Atmore, AL on January 25, 1944, to the late Thomas Garland and Alice Estelle Millican Strawbridge.
He is preceded in death by his parents; grandson, Dylan Strawbridge; brothers, Thomas Priddy Strawbridge, James Edward Strawbridge, Sr. and Ronald Strawbridge; sisters, Mary Wadweema Guyton and Sylvia JoAnn Johnson.
Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Hazel Smith Strawbridge of Atmore, AL; two sons, Keith (Ashley) Strawbridge of Atmore, AL and Michael Strawbridge of Huxford, AL; one sister, Sue (Clarence) Roley of Bay Minette, AL; one brother, Ollie (Rachel) Strawbridge of Navarre, FL; grandchildren, Keely and Braylee Strawbridge.
Services were held Friday, February 9, 2018, at Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home Chapel with Ollie Strawbridge and Johnny Guyton officiating.
Interment was in Oak Hill Cemetery.
Active pallbearers were David Strawbridge, Brandon Smith, Tommy Strawbridge, Johnny Guyton, Troy Baker and Brian Huskey.

Emma Ruth Crutchfield, age 83, a resident of Daphne, AL, passed away Tuesday, February 6, 2018. She enjoyed spending time with her family.
Mrs. Crutchfield was preceded in death by her husband, Lamar J. Crutchfield.
She is survived by her children, Sharon Crutchfield (Michael S.) McDonald and Harold Lamar Crutchfield, both of Daphne, AL; Dennis (Juanita W.) Crutchfield of Spanish Fort, AL and Sherry Lynn Crutchfield of Knoxville, TN; six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, February 13, 2018, at 10:30 a.m. at Mack Funeral Home Chapel.
Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service from 9:30 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. at Mack Funeral Home.
Burial will be at Barrancas National Cemetery in Pensacola, FL at 1 p.m.

Elbert Myrle Wright, 84 of Pensacola, FL passed away Tuesday, February 2, 2018, in Pensacola, FL. He was a retired Aeronautical Engineer. He was born in Ripley, MS on August 21, 1934, to the late B.C. and Jewel Shelton Wright.
He is preceded in death by his parents; son, Dale Wright; brothers, Jimmy Wright and Charles Wright and one sister, Margorie Roffman.
Survivors include his wife, Marsha White Wright of Pensacola, FL; two sons, Darl Wright of Montana and Christopher W. Wright of Arkansas; two step-sons, Timothy Lovell of Monroe, GA and Matthew Lovell of Dupont, WA; three daughters, Brenda Tallon of Montana, Janet Fife of Washington, and Jean Jennings of Norwich, Kansas; two sisters, Dot Windham and Shirely Edison, both of Mississippi and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be Saturday February 10, 2018, at 11 a.m. in Hosey Presley Cemetery at Nokomis, AL with Bro. Butch Lee officiating.
Family will receive friends on Saturday February 10, 2018, at Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home from 9:30 a.m. until 10:30 a.m.

Michelle Luvera Currow, 49, of Pensacola, FL passed away Sunday, February 4, 2018. She was born January 29, 1969 in Pensacola, FL to Richard and Peggy Core Currow and was a lifelong resident of Pensacola. Michelle was a medical receptionist for over 15 years. She was a lover of all animals, avid Alabama football fan and a beach enthusiast.
She is preceded in death by her mother, Peggy Core Currow. She is survived by her father, Felix Richard Currow; sister, Sherry Currow Finkler (Scott); nephews, Noah and Elijah Finkler.

Margaret Lynnette “Nett” Blocker Reaves Secrist Johnson

Mrs. Margaret Lynnette “Nett” Blocker Reaves Secrist Johnson, age 84, of Jay, Florida went home to be with her Lord and loved ones who’ve gone before on Sunday, February 4, 2018 following a brief illness.
Lynnette lived most of her life in Berrydale, Florida. Though she was a nurturing and loving stay-at- home mom, for many years she was also employed at Vanity Fair (25 yrs), Milton, FL, and Scotts (Greers) Grocery in Jay, FL. She also worked as a caretaker to the invalid, which included family members and friends because of her servant’s heart to do the Lord’s will in her life. She accepted Christ as her personal Lord and Saviour at an early age at Pine Grove Baptist Church, Berrydale, FL. Her greatest desire was to honor and serve Christ wherever she felt Him leading; teaching Sunday School and Training Union in France, Germany, and America, youth director, pianist from age 10, choir member and service on several church committees throughout her 84 years of life and a great prayer warrior. Churches in which she attended and served included Berrydale Baptist, Eastside Baptist, Milton, Jay First Baptist, First Baptist East Brewton, AL and pianist at Pine Grove Baptist until recently. She was the wife of the late Rev. Holley Secrist and honored him in that capacity. Lynnette was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin and friend to all those that knew her.
She came to know and opened her heart of love to several military personnel stationed at NAS Whiting Field who were far away from home, taking some under her wing and keeping in contact over the years as if they were her own children. She enjoyed cooking, sewing, singing, playing the piano, and reading. She will be dearly missed.
She was born December 1, 1933, in Berrydale, FL to the late Bozzy Blocker and Margaret Eloise Lewis Blocker Bradley. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by step-father, Sollie Bradley; late husbands, Rev. Holley Secrist and Lenard Johnson; son, David Allen Reaves; son-in- law, John Coy Goldmillion; brother, William “Bill” Blocker; sister, Henrietta “Susie” Bradley- Carey and brother-in- law, Richard Carey.
She is survived by her daughter, Shirley Ann Reaves-Goldmillion; son, Dewayne Daniel Reaves, Berrydale, FL; daughter-in- law, Cindy Tanner-Reaves, West Pensacola, FL ; grandchildren, John Drew Goldmillion, Pace, FL, Carrie (Matthew) Goldmillion-Maggard, Elizabethton, TN; David Reaves, Jr., Daniel Reaves and Melissa Reaves, West Pensacola, FL; seven great-grandchildren; brothers Lloyd “Buddy” Bradley (Paulette), Jay, FL, Rev. Robert Bradley (Libby), Brewton, AL, several nieces, nephews, cousins and her dog, Sassy B. Gail.
Celebration of Life Services will be held at Jay Chapel, Thursday, February 8, 2018, 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow in Pine Grove Baptist Church, Berrydale, FL. Family visitation will take place, Wednesday, February 7, 2018 from 6-8 p.m. The Rev. Robert Bradley will officiate.

Mr. Warren Dean Cooper, age 60, passed away on Tuesday, February 6, 2018 in Pensacola, Florida.
Mr. Cooper was a native of Pensacola, FL and resided in Cantonment, FL for most of his life. He was a member of the IBEW 904 (Gulfport, MS), Brotherhood of the Fleas and the Farm Hill Holiness Church. He is preceded in death by his father, Johnny Max Cooper and two grandchildren, Allie May Cooper and Ava Cooper.
He is survived by his mother, Ruby Cooper of Cantonment, FL; one son, Warren Dean Cooper, Jr. of Georgia; one daughter, Nikki Cooper of Daphne, AL; two brothers, Daniel Lee (Debra) Cooper of Pensacola, FL and John Donald (Lisa) Dale of Pensacola, FL; two Wanda Jean Massey of Cantonment, FL and Pamela Ann Cooper of Cantonment, FL and two grandchildren, Sydney Cooper and William Cooper. Numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 10, 2018 at 11:00 AM at the Lottie Baptist Church with Bro. Clyde Hughes officiating.
Burial will follow at the Presley Cemetery.

James Edward Owens

James Edward Owens, 88, of Jay, Florida went to be with the Lord on February 5, 2018. He was born and raised in Jay.
James served in the U.S. Air Force and later worked for over 30 years in aviation maintenance at the Naval Air Station in Pensacola, Florida. James was a member of Jay First Baptist Church and served as a deacon there for many years.
James was preceded in death by his father, Fred Owens; his mother, Estelle Campbell Owens and his brother Steve Owens.
He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Betty Stuckey Owens; his sons Gary (Judy), Larry (Ramona) and Ricky (Sabrina). He had six grandchildren, Redina (Jack) Gavin, Amanda (Shane) Dawsey, Micah (Jessica) Owens, Meredith Owens, Carly Owens and Zach Owens. He had six great-grandchildren, Lane Burgess, Alex and Laura Gavin, Owen, Oakleigh and Opal Dawsey. James is also survived by his sisters, JoAnne Savage (Paul-deceased), Jimmie Dean (Alex) Hill, Carol (Jimmy) Turberville and brother Kenny (Nita) Owens.
Pallbearers for services are Jimmy “Moo” Brown, Lane Burgess, Alex Gavin, Jack Gavin, Micah Owens and Zach Owens.
James was a loving husband and father and he will be greatly missed by his family and many friends.
The family would like to express special thanks to Dr. David Smith and Jay Hospital for the excellent care given to James during his illness.

Mr. Clarence Ruben Davis, age 80, passed away on Sunday, February 4, 2018, in Atmore, Alabama.
Mr. Davis was a native and lifelong resident of Davisville, FL. He was a member of the Carney Lodge #549, American Legion Post #90 (Atmore, AL) and the First Baptist Church of Canoe. He is preceded in death by his four brothers, Hilton Davis, Sonney Davis, Clarence Davis and James Davis and one sister, Martha Alene Singleton.
He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Willodeane Davis of Atmore, AL; three sons, Donald David Clemmons of Atmore, AL, Jack E. (Sandy) Clemmons of Walnut Hill, FL and Charles Rodney (Lisa) Davis of Cantonment, FL; three daughters, Jackie Killam of Tensaw, AL, Pam (Peter) Christensen of Pensacola, FL and Kimberly Lynn Dasalva of Pensacola, FL; one sister, Dorothy Moore of Atmore, AL; 13 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, February 6, 2018, at the Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home with Bro. Waylon Stuckey officiating.
Burial was at the Oak Hill Cemetery.

Judith Lands

Mrs. Judith Lands, age 76, of Andalusia, formerly of Jay, FL, passed away on Saturday, February 3, 2018, at Andalusia Manor.
Judith was a loving sister, mother, grandmother, and friend to all that knew her. She loved to fish and taught her nieces and nephews how to fish, along with her grandchildren that came later. Everyone loved to go fishing with Judy. She also loved to cook and was great at it. She will truly be missed.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Robert C. Lands; daughter, Deborah Blackwell; son, Tony Smith; step-son, Jim Lands and brother, Tobie Jones.
She is survived by her daughter, Roxanne Powell; three grandsons, Dustin Smith, Trask Blackwell, and Matthew Pruitt; one granddaughter, Tiffany Wiggins; three sisters, Lou McCall, Jessie Martin, and June (Larry) Edwards; one brother, Barney (Sharon) Jones and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be at held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, February 7, 2018, at Jay Chapel, 3853 Highway 4, Jay, FL with Brother Joe Macks officiating.
Visitation will be held one hour prior to services at the Chapel.
Carl Arthur Caraway

Carl Arthur Caraway, 78, of Cantonment, FL passed away Wednesday, January 31, 2018. Carl was the owner of Universal Glass in Ft. Lauderdale for 27 years, and from 1990 to 2004 he served locally as a trustee for the Escambia River Electric Co-Op. He was also a proud member of the Elks Lodge and Moose Lodge. His other passions included farming, fishing, golfing, and especially halter horse competition where he won several grand championships.
He is preceded in death by his parents, J.B. and Gertrude Franklin Caraway; sister, Eloise Otnes and a brother, Homer Caraway.
He is survived by his loving wife, Ruth Caraway; stepson, James Dyer; brothers, Clark Caraway (Edna) of Bratt, FL and Douglas Caraway, Griffin, GA; sister, Hilda Malone (Jimmy) of McDavid, FL; nieces, Sandra Caraway, Amy Holland, and Lisa Cross; nephew, Wilburn Caraway; many great-nieces, nephews, aunts, cousins and close friends.
