Patsy Anita Odom Helton

Patsy Anita Odom Helton, 82, joined her husband Donald Ray on Wednesday, October 25, 2018, passing from the arms of her son to those of her devoted husband of 57 years.
Patsy was a native of McKenzie, AL, and had resided in Cantonment, FL, since 1965. She was a member of the Remnant Church of Latter-Day Saints and a graduate of Troy State University (BA) and the University of Alabama (MA).
She is survived by her son, Michael Helton and son-in-law Eric O’Briant; brother-in-law, Gary Helton (Lola); sister-in-law, Glenda (Alan); nieces and nephews, Wanda Dour (Dick), Phyllis Watford (Robert), Pansy Tillman (Dick), Tommy Carnathan (Sai), Judy Kramer (Will), Charlene Frater, Ray Adams (Sidna), Shannon Odom, and Sheron Rundall.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Pansy Odom and her father, Aubrey Odom, as well as by her four siblings, Rogene (Mylan), Gaston (Ruby), Lyla Carnathan and Lula Adams (Lloyd).
Patsy was born the youngest child of five during the Depression in rural Alabama. Weighing only two pounds at birth, she was special from the start. Her father would place her on a pillow beside him in the seat of his milk truck as he made rounds through the community. She grew up lively, talkative and beautiful, winning Queen of the Strawberry Festival and Homecoming Queen, complete with hand-made tin-foil crown. She met her husband, Donald Ray, at a Reorganized Latter Day Saints church camp, where he told his friends that she was the girl he was going to marry. Marry they did, spending the rest of their lives together in service to others through education, counsel, and love. Patsy retired from teaching at Molino Elementary school, where she spent most of her 30-year career. The last 20 years of her life she enjoying by traveling, shopping and spending time with her husband, son and son-in-law. The family feels sadness, not only for its own loss, but for all those that will never be able to meet the person who could literally light up a room with a single smile.
Visitation will be Sunday, October 28, 2018, with private family visitation at 12 p.m. and public visitation from 12:30 p.m. until service time at 2 p.m. at the Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home with Diane Ward and Dick Dour officiating.
Burial will follow at the Oak Hill Cemetery.

Sally Bell Jerkins

Sally Bell Jerkins of Cantonment, Florida passed away on Monday, October 22, 2018, at the age of 82. She was born on September 6, 1936, in Evergreen, Alabama to the late Claude Dean and Velma Fuller Dean. She was a member of Allen Memorial United Methodist Church. Sally was very family oriented. She spent lots of time loving her sweet grandchildren and great-granddaughter.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Frank Wheeler Jerkins; granddaughter, Amy Danielle Jerkins; two sisters, and two brothers.
Sally is survived by her three daughters, Hazel Jerkins, Rebecca Jerkins, and Patricia (Howard) Lovins; three grandsons, Geoffrey (Kharrie) Jerkins, Dakota (Kim) Jerkins, and Aaron Lovins; one great-granddaughter, Evelyn Grace Jerkins; and one brother, Ray Dean.
Sally will be missed by all who knew her.
Graveside services were held Thursday, October 25, 2018, at Brushy Creek Methodist Church Cemetery Range, Alabama with Pastor John Edwards, officiating.

Mrs. Charlotte Yvonne Moye, age 63, passed away on Friday, October 19, 2018.
Mrs. Moye was a native of Century, FL and resided in the Brewton-Flomaton, AL area for most of her life. She was a member of the Flomaton Pentecostal Holiness Church.
She is preceded in death by her granddaughter, Courtney Pridgen.
She is survived by husband, Curtis Moye of Brewton, AL; one son, Ronald Moye of Byrneville, FL; two daughters, Daphne (Jeremy) Pridgen of Flomaton, AL and Tonya (Matthew) Rolin of Flomaton, AL; two brothers, Mike Turner of Theodore, AL and Steve (Angie) Turner of Byrneville, FL; six grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, October 24, 2018, at the Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home with Rev. Al Bethea officiating.
Burial was at the Traveler’s Rest Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Deston Taylor, Colby Taylor, Cody Pridgen, Remington Boutwell, Ridge Boutwell and River Boutwell.

Mrs. Anna Lucile Sells, 89, passed away on Sunday, October 21, 2018, at her home in Poarch, Alabama.
Mrs. Sells was a native of Bay Springs, FL and had resided in Poarch, AL most of her life. She was a proud member of the Poarch Band of Creek Indians.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Milton “Half” Sells; son, Melvin James Sells; step-son, Van Ike Sells; mother, Viola Jackson; grandson, Eric Rolin; great-grandson, Ethan Warden; four brothers and three sisters.
She is survived by her two sons, Billy Glen (Betty) Sells of Cantonment, FL and Milton Darrell (Mary Jane) Sells of McCullough, AL; four daughters, Hattie Louise Knowles of Poarch, AL, Pandora (Frank) Andrews of Atmore, AL, Vicky (Douglas) Burns of Perdido, AL and Tera (Frankie) Coon of McCullough, AL; three sisters-in-law, Mable Jackson of Poarch, AL, Joyce Ann Jackson of Poarch, AL and Martha Jane Jackson of Poarch, AL; 20 grandchildren; 40 great-grandchildren; 14 great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. Mrs. Nancy Lee Barbarow, age 72, passed away on Friday, October 19, 2018, at her home in Perdido, Alabama.
Mrs. Barbarow was a native of Atmore, AL and had resided in Perdido, AL for the past 18 years. She was of the Holiness faith.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Clyde Barbarow; daughter, Tammy Carpenter; son, Robert Flowers; granddaughter, Brittney Pace; two sisters, Mary Roberson and Daisy Colvin; and four brothers.
She is survived by her two sons, James Malcolm (Cheryl) Harrelson of Perdido, AL and Michael (Shauna) Harrelson of Atmore, AL; two daughters, Debra Diane Boatwright of Perdido, AL and Susan Renee (Ronnie) Paul of Perdido, AL; two brothers, Wilburn Cecil Boutwell of Oregon and Chester Eugene Boutwell of Perdido, AL; three sisters, Lucille Wright of Evergreen, AL, Shirley Barbee of Mobile, AL and Christine Long of Canoe, AL; 14 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.

Charlene Pugh, 49 of Atmore, AL, passed away Friday, October 19, 2018, at her residence. She was employed by Atmore Community Hospital in purchasing. She was born in Escambia County, AL on February 18, 1969, to Jimmy Eugene and Margaret Ann Jones Jay.
She is preceded in death by her mother, Margaret Ann Jones Bryars, and a step-son, Aaron Jake Pugh.
Survivors include her husband, Larry Lynn Pugh, Sr. of Atmore, AL; father, Jimmy Eugene Jay of Atmore, AL; two sons, Matthew K. (Brittany) Luker of Atmore, AL; Larry Lynn (Micaela) Pugh, Jr of Flomaton, AL; five brothers, Randal Eugene (Joyce) Jay of Davisville, FL; Ronald Wayne (Martha) Jay of Bay Minette, AL; James Roger (Amanda) Jay of Atmore, AL; Robin Earle (Stephne) Jay of Pensacola, FL; and Jeffrey (Meg) Diedtrich of Atlanta, GA; two sisters, Linda Johnson (Chris) Phillips of Uriah, AL, and Sharon (Todd) Stearns of Brewton, AL; grandchildren, Cadyn Blake Luker, Kysun Alexzander Luker, Kaliyan Luker, Kyler Pugh and Avery Pugh.

Joseph Murla, Jr.

Joseph Murla, Jr. of Pensacola, FL passed away October 19, 2018. Joseph was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He served his country as a US Marine. He was a native of New Orleans and a longtime resident of Pensacola. Although he had seen the world, Pensacola was home. To his family he was known as Big Junior. He loved to cook. Family and friends always wanted to know what he was cooking for dinner to drop off for a visit.
Surviving is his wife, Wilma Murla; three daughters, Pamela Rudzikewycz, Saundra Pope and Mitzi Revels; son, Mark Murla; two sisters, Veronica Nepomuceno and Pat Frechette; brother, Eugenio Galino; five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Rusty Pope, Jerry Pope, Gregory Pope, Kevin Revels, BJ Revels, Michael Rudzikewycz and Bo Revels.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, October 23, 2018, at Faith Chapel South, 100 Beverly Parkway, Pensacola, FL.
Friends are invited to meet with the family from 9:30 a.m. until service time.
Interment will be in Barrancas National Cemetery with Military Honors.
John Wesley Johnson

John Wesley Johnson was born January 9, 1946, in Escambia County, Florida. He peacefully passed away surrounded by family Thursday, October 18, 2018, after a lengthy battle with cancer.
He is survived by his wife, Sharon Scull Johnson; daughter, Crystal L. Johnson Lampert (Travis); brother, Charlie Johnson (Wanda), brother, Danny Johnson (Joanne) and many extended family members.
He is predeceased by his mother Laura “Leatha”; father, Charles; and brother, Ted.
John graduated from Pensacola High School in Pensacola, FL. He served in the Army National Guard as a Paratrooper and assisted with hurricane relief efforts. After his honorable discharge he entered the carpentry field, building many hotels for Disney and eventually owning his own business. For the last 18 years of his career he served as the lead kitchen designer for Home Depot where he made some wonderful friendships. He took great pride in his work and his last kitchen design was a remodel for his wife.
John enjoyed classic cars, westerns, classic country music, spending quality time with his wife and daughter, and he loved his three little puppies – Bailey, Kobi and Petey.
In the last few months one of John’s favorite things to do was to go to Publix on Cervantes with his wife. He loved driving the cart around and visiting with all of the employees. He always commented on how nice the staff was to him, especially the girls in the pharmacy.
A special thank you to Dr. Owera and the staff of the Woodlands for their wonderful care over. Also a special thank you to nephew Douglas Johnson for all of the help with projects over the years.
The family will host a celebration of life Sunday, October 28, 2018, at 2 p.m. at the family home, 2808 E. Gonzalez St., Pensacola, FL 32503.

Robert Haskew Middleton, Sr.

Robert Haskew Middleton, Sr. 97 of Atmore, AL. passed away October 16, 2018, in Fairhope, AL. He was a retired salesmen, born in Pineapple, AL. on April 16, 1921, to the late James Lambert and Phenie Owens Middleton. A WWII veteran, he served in the Army, and was a member of the American Legion in Atmore with 75 years of service. He was also a member of the First Baptist Church of Atmore.
He is preceded in death by his parents, wife Gladys Middleton, grandson Will Middleton and brother Zolon Middleton.
He is survived by son Bob (Linda) Middleton of Gulf Shores, AL, daughter Pam (Pat Rowan) Middleton of Irvington, NY, grandchildren Jill (Bryan) Arnold and Adam Middleton, and great-grandson Will Middleton.
Services will be Friday, October 19, 2018, at 2:30 p.m. from the First Baptist Church of Atmore with Rev. Arnold Hendrix officiating. Interment will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery with full military honors.

Jonathan L. Quarrier was born in Mobile, Alabama April 2, 1977. He lived in Monroeville, AL, Albemarle, NC, El Paso, TX, and Pensacola, FL.
In 2010, he married Shannon Ashely Morris of Pensacola
He and Shannon lived in Pensacola and proudly gave birth to a son, Nathan William Quarrier in 2011.
Jonathan was fun-loving and quick-witted, positive characteristic that he passed on to his son.
Jonathan is survived by his wife, Shannon; son, Nathan; parents, Rev. and Mrs. Wayne L. Quarrier of Pensacola; and paternal grandmother, Mrs. C.L. Quarrier of Camden, AL.
A memorial service is scheduled at Olive Baptist Church on Saturday, October 20 at 10 a.m. He will be buried in Old Repton Cemetery in Repton, AL, next to his sister, Jennifer Jo Quarrier, who preceded him in death.
