Paula D. Patterson Miller Smith

Paula D. Patterson Miller Smith, 69 years of age, passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 25, 2018, at West Florida Hospital in Pensacola, FL.
Paula was born November 13, 1948, to Judy Strength and the late James Patterson. She was the twin sister of Pam Gale Patterson and had an older brother Doug Patterson and a younger brother Frank Smyer III.
Paula professed her life to Christ at an early age. She married the late Hubert E. Smith in July of 1993. The family initially lived in Pensacola, FL and later moved to Molino, FL. She was a member of Pine Summit Baptist Church. She loved doing the Lord’s work and she cherished and praised Him. She had a heart of gold and always enjoyed the fellowship with others. Paula loved praying for and with others, spending time with family and friends, and always wore a smile. She was a loving and caring person, devoted wife, mother, sister, Nana and friend. Her legacy will live on in the hearts and minds of everyone she interacted with.
Paula leaves behind to cherish her loving memory her children, Sherry Sopina, Karla (Ben) Bowman, Doug (Renee) Miller; step-children, Cindy (Bill) Henderson and Michael Smith; grandchildren, Garrett (Pam) and Zachary (Kendall) Henderson, Nikki Smith, Shelby and Abi Sopina, Tripp and Brooke Bowman, Dawson and Avery Miller and Jase Peaden; great-grandchildren, Wheeler and Campbell Henderson; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Family, friends, and others whose lives Paula touched are invited to the visitation from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. on Thursday, August 30, 2018, at Faith Chapel Funeral Home North in Cantonment, FL to reminisce, grieve, support each other and, of course, just chat.
Funeral services will be held immediately after visitation at 11 a.m. on Thursday, August 30, 2018, at Faith Chapel Funeral Home North in Cantonment, FL.
Burial will immediately follow the funeral at Elizabeth Chapel Community Cemetery in Chumuckla, FL.
Funeral arrangements are being handled by Faith Chapel Funeral Home North.

James Windham Norris

James Windham Norris, 83 of Atmore, AL, passed away August 24, 2018, in Atmore. He was born on November 1, 1934, in Atmore, AL. to the late Johnnie Ervin and Cassie Dean Hobbs Norris. He worked in sales with Alabama Power and R.P. McDavid Company. He was retired from the Army National Guard. He is preceded in death by his parents and one brother Bobby Norris.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Nan Reia Wise Norris of Atmore; three daughters Tina (Scott) Brooks of Atmore, AL, Rene` (Lamar) Godwin of Oak Grove, FL, and Michelle Norris of Milton, FL; grandchildren, Zachary Brooks, Norris (Rebecca) Brooks, Ethan (Katie) Brooks, Allie Brooks, Cassie (Stephan) Skelton and Olivia Godwin; great-grandchildren Riley Brooks, Wyatt Brooks, Blakely Skelton, Sanders Skelton and Evee June Miller.
Funeral services were held Sunday, August 26, 2018, from the Brooks Memorial Baptist Church with Bro. Robert Heard officiating.
Burial will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery.
Active pallbearers will be Scott Brooks, Zach Brooks, Norris Brooks, Ethan Brooks, Lamar Godwin and Terre McGill.
Honorary pallbearers will be Floyd Adams, Ted Clayton, Gerald Davidson, Carl Madison, I. G. Nichols and Lowell McGill.

Barbara Covan Wilson

Mrs. Barbara Covan Wilson, age 79, passed away on Sunday, August 26, 2018 in Pensacola, Florida.
Mrs. Wilson was a native and life long resident of Century, FL. She was a retired lunch room manager at Northview High School, Century High School, Bratt Elementary and Century Elementary with 31 years of service. She was a member of the Byrneville Methodist Church. She is preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Ellen Covan; one son, James Michael Wilson and three daughters, Sharon Denise Odom, Teresa Marie Jordan and Mary Kathryn Black.
She is survived by her husband of 63 years, James M. Wilson of Century, FL; one daughter, Beth (Kevin) Beck of Lake Mary, FL; two sisters, Brenda (Tommy) Cushing of Pensacola, FL and Diane Dennis of Wetumka, AL; seven grandchildren, Caleb, Jacob, Sarah, Jessie, Lindsey, Kasey, Jessica and Nicholas and six great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Friday, August 31, 2018 at 2:00 PM at the Byrneville Methodist Church with Rev. Chris Hawkins officiating.
Burial will follow at the Byrneville Methodist Cemetery.
Visitation will be held Thursday, August 30, 2018 from 6 to 8 PM at the Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Rayburn Knowles, Pete Norton, Bobby Holland, Marcus Mathis, Robert Smith and Randy Murph.
John Edward Adams

John Edward Adams, 87, born December 18, 1930, in Opp, AL went home to be with the Lord on August 23, 2018, after a long battle with cancer.
He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Betty Adams; daughter, Jeanie Forte; two sons, Johnny Adams and Steve (Judy) Adams; seven grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; brother, Obie Adams; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
John was retired from Monsanto. He was an avid golfer, fisherman, and family man. He will be greatly missed by everyone who was blessed to have known him.
The family would like to give our heartfelt thanks to the wonderful people who devote their lives to helping others–Dr. Tan, Dr. Greskovich; nurses and staff at Solaris, West Florida Hospital, and Covenant Care Hospice. You have been such a blessing to him and our family.
A private burial will be held at Barrancas National Cemetery, NAS Pensacola, FL.

Mrs. Belinda Boutwell Hudson, age 57, passed away on Wednesday, August 22, 2018 at her home in Perdido, Alabama.
Mrs. Hudson was a native of Century, FL, former resident of Bay Minette, AL and has resided in Perdido, AL for the past 2 years. She was a member of the Rabun New Testament Church. She is preceded in death by her father and step-mother, James and Donna Boutwell; mother and step-father, Levis and Jerry Davis and two sisters, Vicki B. Knighten and Leona Boutwell.
She is survived by her husband of 21 years, Homer “Bo” Hudson of Perdido, AL; one son, Patrick Huer of Atmore, AL; three daughters, Shannon Boutwell of Atmore, AL, Leslie Boutwell of Bay Minette, AL and Nichole Hudson of Stapleton, AL; one brother, Jerry Davis, Jr. of Uriah, AL; three sisters, Gwen B. Chastang of Mobile, AL, Mary (Donald) Woods of Atmore, AL and Sharon (Mitch) Johnson of Huxford, AL and twelve grandchildren.
Funeral services will be Saturday, August 25, 2018 at 10:00 AM at the Rabun New Testament Church with Rev. Bubba Rolin officiating.
Burial will follow at the Johnson Cemetery.
Visitation will be Friday, August 24, 2018 from 6:00 PM until service time at 10:00 AM at the Rabun New Testament Church.

James E. Burkett, 67 of Atmore, AL. passed away Friday August 17, 2018, at his Rresidence. He was retired after 29 years of service with the City of
Atmore as a supervisor for Public Works. He was born on November 18, 1950, in Atmore, AL, to the late Comer and Lela Bruce Burkett.
He is preceded in death by his parents, a son, Sonny James Burkett, a brother, Tommy Burkett and a sister, Cindy Burkett.
Survivors are a son, Phillip (Miranda) Burkett of Dallas, GA; three daughters, Christina (Mark) McLure of Middleburg, FL, Glenda (Bubba) Ardis of Lottie, AL, Shan Shan Grace Burkett of Poarch, AL; five brothers, Gene Burkett of Atmore, AL, Floyd Burkett of Nokomis, AL, Wayne Burkett, Johnny Burkett and Mike Burkett all of Atmore, A;. four sisters, Ruby Sanspree of Atmore, AL, Claudia Powell of Perdido, AL, Francis Godwin and Shirley Boatwright both of Atmore, AL; nine grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Services will be Monday August 20, 2018, at 10 a.m. from the Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Allen Chase and Bro. Derek Gobert officiating. Interment will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery. Active pallbearers are, Dustin Lindsey, Roger Scott, Chris Byrne, Tommy Godwin, Scotty Burkett, Steven Burkett, David Godwin and Jakob Burkett.

Charles Edward Barnhill

Charles Edward Barnhill, 79, born November 24, 1938, in Huxford AL, went home to be with the Lord on August 19, 2018.
He was a tribal member of the Poarch Band of Creek Indians.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 53 years, Shirley Barnhill and his brother, Vernon Barnhill.
He is survived by his two sons, David Barnhill of Spartanburg, SC, and Jerry (Sandra) Barnhill of Milton, FL. He is also survived by nephew, Tim Barnhill; niece, Angie Jarvis; seven grandchildren, Audrey Stevens, Thomas Thornhill, Tabitha Cook, Mitchell Barnhill Annie Barnhill, Sarah Barnhill and Leighton Barnhill; and four great grandchildren.
He was a beloved father and grandfather who will be terribly missed.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. at on Saturday, August 25, 2018, at Faith Chapel Funeral Home North. Graveside service to follow in Elizabeth Chapel Community Cemetery (Chumuckla).
Visitation will be held Friday, August 24, 2018, from 9-8 at the funeral home.

Marvin Roy Lee of Molino, FL, loving husband, father, and friend, passed away on August 5, 2018, his 68th birthday.
Marvin was born August 5, 1950, in Lubbock, TXs. He was the youngest of four siblings. He retired from Monsanto Company after 35 years. Marvin was Dale Earnhardt’s biggest fan. He loved watching and going to races, working on his property on his tractor, shining up his truck, drinking his Coca Cola and enjoying a fish fry with the family.
He is survived by his wife of 25 years Shirley (ne’e Mitchell); his children Kevin (Amy), Brian (Sharon), Brandon (Stacy) and Lori Purser Campbell; his grandchildren Adam, Kinsey, Brent and Brody; his mother-in law Celia Mitchell and her family; Carl and Mahalla Hartbarger; his siblings Jean (Troy) Ratcliff of Marietta, GA; Dr. Russell (Kathy) Lee of Pisgah Forest, NC and Carol Wilson of Cantonment, FL; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
He is preceded by his parents Josephine (ne’e Bobe) and Mason Leavon Lee.
The family is having a Celebration of Life & Luncheon at Molino Community Center on September 1st at 11 a.m.

Mr. Joseph Wayne Levins, age 76, passed away on Sunday, August 12, 2018, at his home in Lawrenceville, Georgia.
Mr. Levins was a native and former resident of Byrneville, FL and had resided in Lawrenceville, GA for the past 53 years. He was a veteran of the Vietnam Conflict serving with the USAF, former owner and operator of Brenjo, LLC-A&B Discount of Atlanta, GA for 30 years and was a member of the Byrneville United Methodist Church. He is preceded in death by his parents, Alfred and Hazel Levins; one brother, Wilbur Levins; first wife and mother of his children, Jackie Kelley Levins and a son, Joseph Mark Levins.
He is survived by his wife of 27 years, Brenda Joyce Levins of Lawrenceville, GA; two sons, Kelly Barnes and Stacey Thornton both of Georgia; one daughter, Karen (Jeff) Killam of Byrneville, FL; six grandchildren, Michael, Stevie, Nathan Brooke, Kelby and Joseph; two great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

Mrs. Catherine Albert McLeod Bray, age 85, passed away on Tuesday, August 14, 2018, in Cantonment, Florida.
Mrs. Bray was a native of Atmore, AL, former resident of Orange Beach, AL and had resided in Atmore, AL for most of her life. She was a member of the St. Thomas by the Sea Church. She is preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Katie Albert; one sister, Josephine Albert Ward; four brothers, Tony Albert, Johnny Albert, George Albert and Bug Albert; husband, Derhyl Lee Bray; special friend, Guido Whelehan; and son-in-law, Don Dewrell.
She is survived by one son, Ken (Jerri) McLeod of Cantonment, FL; two daughters, Kay Dewrell of Foley, AL and Janet McLeod of Atmore, AL; seven grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
Graveside services will be Friday, August 17, 2018 at 2 p.m. at the Oak Hill Cemetery with Rev. Father A. Jayaraj officiating.
