Donald Elliott Strickland, 87, of Walnut Hill, FL, passed away February 1, 2019, in Pensacola, FL. He was born in Bratt, FL on November 3, 1931, to the late Walker E. and Gladys Wiggins Strickland.
He is preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Willie Marie Amos Strickland; a son George E. Strickland; and a sister, Mary Lou Strickland Wiggins.
He was a member of Walnut Hill Baptist Church.
He is survived by a son, Bill (Sandy) Strickland of Broken Arrow, OK; two daughters, Donna (Jon) Dees of Cantonment, FL and Becky (Paul) Madeira of Miami, FL; three sisters, Louise (Charles) Bryan of Mobile, AL; Marilyn Ward of Walnut Hill, FL and Sharee (Edward) Godwin of Walnut Hill, FL; four grandsons, Kory (Kelly) Dees, Joshua Dees, Blake Dees and Bradyn Strickland; granddaughter, Sarah Strickland; and great-granddaughter, Kyler Dees.
Funeral services were held Monday, February 4, 2019, from the Walnut Hill Baptist Church with Rev. Ted Bridges and Rev. Joshua Long officiating.
Interment was in the Walnut Hill Baptist Church Cemetery with military honors.
Active pallbearers were Kory Dees, Joshua Dees, Blake Dees, Bradyn Strickland, Brett Ward and Horace Ward.
Honorary pallbearers were Jerry Poulsen and Wayne Long.
Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Robert C. “Bobby” Martin

Robert C. “Bobby” Martin, 69, of Davisville, FL, passed away January 25, 2019. He was born on June 19, 1949, in Atmore, AL, to the late Robert J. and Ethel Lee Mooney Martin. He attended the Atmore First Assembly of God Church. He was retired from the Army National Guard and was a retired corrections officer with Escambia County Florida Department of Corrections. He was avid fisherman and outdoorsman, and was known for his excellent cooking skills of fried fish and oysters. His parents preceded him in death.
He was survived by his wife Nancy Etheridge Martin of Davisville, FL; two children Jennifer Beck of Cantonment, FL, and Russell Martin of Tuscaloosa, AL; three brothers Ronnie (Gayle) Martin of Atmore, AL, Harold (JoAnn) Martin of Warren Robbins, GA, and Greg Martin of Atmore, AL; and two grandchildren Lauren and Lindsey Beck of Cantonment.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, January 31, 2019, at 2 p.m. from the Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Don Davis and Bro. Michael Roley officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery.
Active pallbearers will be Timothy Lassiter, Paul Hudson, Earl Bodiford, Chris Smith, Melvin Iutzi, and Jeremy McGhee.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, January 30, 2019 from 5-7 p.m. at Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home Chapel.
George H. Warren

George H. Warren, 75, of Pace, Florida, passed away Friday, January 25, 2019. He retired from the United States Postal Service after many years as a mail carrier, and then drove a school bus for Santa Rosa County Schools. Since childhood, George proved to be a true athlete. Some of his favorite sports were softball, tennis, bowling, and especially golf, including tournaments with his mom, Kathryn . He and his wife Bobbi enjoyed square dancing, he loved working outside in his yard, and playing ping pong with his children and grandchildren. He especially loved everyone coming together for family cook outs. George was the life of any party and loved to laugh. He is preceded in death by his mother Kathryn Warren, father George H. Carpenter and wife Barbara Warren.
He is survived by his stepfather, George C. Warren, sister Judy Ezell, children John Warren, Paul Warren, Wendy Schabatka (Ralf), Cindi Vinyard (Don), Steven Coleman, Jeri Garnish, Bobbi Eklund (Magnus), Shelly Taylor (Monty), 8 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be Sunday, February 3, 2019, from 11:30 AM to 12:00 PM, at Faith Chapel Funeral Home North, with the Funeral Service following at 12:00 PM.

Hettie Lewis Sanders, 80 of Walnut Hill, FL, passed away Saturday, January 26, 2019, in Fairhope, AL. She was a homemaker, born in Scranton, AR, on June 9, 1938, to the late John W. and Bertha Burnette Stovall.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her husbands, Irie O’Neal Lewis and Clarence Sanders, and multiple brothers and sisters.
Survivors are two sons, Orville (Darra) Lewis of Bay Springs, FL, and Roy (Lynn) Lewis of Pace, FL; two daughters: Bertha (Joey) Brown of Perdido, AL, and Carol (Mike) Crittenden of Fairhope, AL; eight grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
Graveside service will be Wednesday, January 30, 2019, at 1 p.m. in Bay Springs Cemetery, Bay Springs, FL, with Bro. Kenneth Johnson officiating. Interment will follow in Bay Springs Cemetery. Pallbearers will be her children and their spouses..

Mr. John P. Johnson, age 59, passed away on Saturday, January 26, 2019 in Lake City, Florida.
Mr. Johnson was a native of Milton, FL and had resided in Century, FL for most of his life. He was of the Assembly of God Faith. He is preceded in death by his parents, JB and Vonniev Johnson.
He is survived by the mother of his children, Kay; two sons, Donnie Johnson of Pensacola, FL and Ben Johnson of Milton, FL; four brothers, Lewis (Wanda) Johnson of Milton, FL, Joseph V. (Mary) Johnson of Century, FL, Ollie (Donna) Johnson of Century, FL and JB (Trudy) Johnson, Jr. of Century, FL; step-mother, Laura Johnson of Century, FL and aunt, Helen Clark of Wetumpka, AL.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, January 30, 2019 at 2:00 PM at Byrneville United Methodist Church with Rev. Chris Hawkins officiating.
Burial will follow at Byrneville United Methodist Cemetery.

Sylvester Thomley

Mr. Sylvester Thomley, age 82, passed away on Saturday, January 26, 2019 in Bay Minette, Alabama.
Mr. Thomley was a native and life long resident of Perdido, AL. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, uncle and friend to all who knew him. He was affectionately known as “Uncle Syl” by all who loved him. He was employed with Alabama Dry Dock with 28 year of service, retired from the Baldwin County School Board with 18 years of service, was a life long cattleman and attended the Hall’s Fork Assembly of God Church. He is preceded in death by his parents, Jack & Myrtle Thomley; one brother, Elisha Thomley and four sisters, Eulia Hadley, Flora Peacock, Earlene Hicks and Jean Brown White.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Joyce Thomley of Perdido, AL; one son, Samuel (Paula) Thomley of Perdido, AL; two daughters, Magi (Jackson) Williams of Cantonment, FL and Gloria Hadley of Perdido, AL; two sisters, Aileen Quinley of White House Fork, AL and Frankie Lou (Wendell) Hall of Bay Minette, AL; nine grandchildren, Brandon Williams, Aaron Thomley, Jonathan Thomley, Jeremy Hadley, Nathan Thomley, Elisha Thomley, Levi Thomley, Johnathan Hadley and Rachel Meyer and eleven great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, January 30, 2019 at 11:00 AM at the Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home with Rev. James Peacock, Rev. Angelo Thomley and Rev. Windell Hadley officiating.
Burial will follow at Bay Minette Cemetery.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, January 29, 2019 from 6 to 9 PM at the Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home.

Lois Lister

Lois Lister, resident of Pensacola, Florida went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, January 24, 2019, at the age of 87. She was born in Santa Rosa County, FL on September 04, 1931 to the late Seth Michael Brigham and Emma Frances Jackson Brigham.
Lois worked and retired as a Draw String Operator for over 30 years with Monsanto.
She was a faithful member and a faithful choir member of Olive Baptist Church. She loved game day at church and fellowshipping with her card groups in their different homes. Lois loved her family and enjoyed arts and crafts.
She is preceded in death by her two sons, Henry “Tony” Lister and Steven Lister.
Lois is survived by her sister and brother-in-law, Martha and Ralph Lodge of Cantonment, FL; and many nieces and nephews. As well as, her great friends and caregivers, Tame and Bob Ritchie, who she referred to as her adopted grandchildren; and her best friend, Smokey the Cat.
Funeral services will be held at 10AM on Saturday, January 26, 2019 at Faith Chapel Funeral Home North with Dr. Ted Traylor officiating. Burial will follow in McCurdy Cemetery, Century, FL.
Family will received friends at 9AM prior to services.
Pallbearers will be Josh Webb, David Webb, Bob Ritchie, Bud Burrell, Ed Kokocinski, and George Grover.

Rebecca Stafford, 54, of Pensacola, FL passed away on January 24, 2019 in Pensacola, FL.
Rebecca was born October 5, 1964 to Mary Esther May in Galveston, Texas.
She leaves to cherish her memory, her beloved spouse of 29 years, Blaine Boyett; her mother, Mary Esther May; her son, Ian Stafford and his wife, Ive; her cherished grandchildren, Ivyona Stafford and Ian James
Stafford; her sister, Norma Orona and her husband, Leo; her brothers, Ronald R. Navarrette and his wife, Amanda and Pedro Luna; and several nieces, nephews, and brothers and sisters in law, Jimmy Boyett and
wife, Jone, Bridget Holland and husband, Danny and Scarlette Boyett.

She is survived by one son, Richard (Lena) Thornton, Jr. of Pace, FL; three daughters, Peggy Sue Settle of Spartanburg, SC, Johnnie Elizabeth Thornton of Tulsa, OK and Lillie Diane (John) de Jarnette of Byrneville, FL; two brothers, Danny Glenn of Perdido, AL and Roy Gene (Renee) of Clinton, LA; three sisters, Judy (Joe) Phillips of Jacksonville, FL, Donna Reaves of McDavid, FL and Charlene (James) Cruz of Jacksonville, FL; nine grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.

Burial will follow at Byrneville United Methodist Cemetery.

Mrs. Jessie Muriel Seale Swindle, age 82, passed away on Tuesday, January 22, 2019 in Milton, Florida.
Mrs. Swindle was a native of Brewton, AL and had resided in Canoe, AL for most of her life. She was well known from Winn Dixie in Atmore; BP in Flomaton was best known as Mrs. Jessie and was employed with Vanity Fair with 20 years of service. She is preceded in death by her parents, Willey and Marguerite Seale; daughter, Marie Booth; three sisters, Lucille Butt, Mary McClain and Jeanette Lois Creamer and one brother, Clifford Seale.
She is survived by her three sons, Edward “Buck” Wilson of Crestview, FL, Bennie (Cathy) Wilson of Milton, FL and Dudley (Wendy) Wilson of Wawbeek, AL; two daughters, Jeanette Quick of Century, FL and Muriel Philyaw of Atmore, AL; three brothers, Lee Verne Seale of Atmore, AL, Murlon (Margaret) Seale of Atmore, AL and Floyd (Betty) Seale of Atmore, AL; two sisters, Nancy Nelson of Foley, AL and Dottie (Charles) West of Ozark, AL; twelve grandchildren; thirty-two great grandchildren and nine great-great grandchildren.
