William A. “Bill” McCann, Sr.

Mr. William A. “Bill” McCann, Sr., age 87, passed away Monday, April 22, 2019 in Pensacola, Florida.

Mr. McCann was native and life long resident of North Escambia County, FL. He retired from St. Regis Paper Company with 21 years of service and the insurance industry with over 10 years of service. He was a member of the Byrneville United Methodist Church. He is preceded in death by his parents, Eddie A. and Ada McCann; granddaughter, Chastity McCann Hutchcraft; great grandson, Lane Hutchcraft; brothers, Roger McCann and Bobby McCann and sister, Doris Cassidy.

He is survived by his spouse of 66 years, Ethel McCann of Byrneville, FL; children: daughter, Kathy (Marcus) Caraway; grandchildren, Jeff, Todd and Jessica; son, William A. “Billy” (Debbie) McCann, Jr. of Bryneville, FL; grandson, William A. “Billy” (Dianna) McCann, III of Wesley Chapel, FL; great grandchildren, Autumn McCann and William A. “Liam” McCann, IV; great grandson, Tyler Hutchcraft of Atmore, AL and sister, Louise Nicholson of Pensacola, FL.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, April 24, 2019 at 2:00 PM at the Byrneville United Methodist Church with Rev. Chris Hawkins and Rev. Jessie Wood officiating.

Burial will follow at the Byrneville Cemetery.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, April 24, 2019 from 12:30 PM until service time at 2:00 PM at the Byrneville United Methodist Church.

Pallbearers will be Dale Levins, Joe Johnson, Ronnie Macks, Dave Bashore, Tommy Lee Johnson and Bill Weaver.

Albert John Ritchey, Jr.

Albert John Ritchey, Jr., passed away on Thursday, April 18, 2019, in Pensacola, FL. He was born June 18, 1941, in Lancaster, PA. Albert was in the United States Navy for six years. He loved to fish and he liked working on pocket watches and clocks.

Albert is preceded in death by his first wife, Patricia Ann Ritchey; mother, Anna Marie Ritchey; father, Albert John Ritchey, Sr.; brother, Michael Stephen Ritchey; and sister, Diane Elisa Ritchey. Albert is survived by his wife of 17 years, Marina Ritchey; sons, Michael Brian Ritchey, Sr., Stephen James Ritchey, and Thomas John Ritchey, Sr.; daughter, Dianna Elisa Welch; step-sons, Konstantin Avdeev and Alexey Avdeev; grandchildren, Michael Brian Ritchey, Jr., Nadine Nicole Ritchey, Forrest Taylor Ritchey, Claudia Michelle Ritchey, Gabriel John Ritchey, Brandon Matthew Ritchey, Timothy Ryan Ritchey, Michael Anthony Welch, David Andrew Welch, Terrel James Ritchey, Robert Tyler Ritchey, Kyle Emmons, Heather Ritchey, and Thomas Ritchey, Jr.; step grandsons, Andrew Avdeev and Egor Avdeev; step granddaughters, Irene Avdeev, Barbara Avdeev and Anna Avdeev; and 13 great grandchildren.

A visitation will be held Thursday, April 25, 2019, from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM, at Faith Chapel Funeral Home North, 1000 South Highway 29, Cantonment. Funeral Services will follow at 12:00 PM. Interment will be at Barrancas National Cemetery, NAS Pensacola, FL.

Donald Clinton Baker

Donald Clinton Baker died 04 11 2019. He was born Aug 10, 1932 in Garden City, Kansas, the son of Emerson C. and Emily E. Baker. He was a veteran of the Korean Conflict and worked for 5 years as a Capitol Hill Policeman in Washington, D.C. and for NYCO security in Pensacola. He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Katherine M. Baker of Molino, Fl; one sister, Shirley (Baker) Sutphen of Montrose, Co.; four sisters-in-law Lelia Stevens, Lorene Allen, Nadine Cassity and Pearl Ford; two brother-in-Law Fred L. Houston and Kennith Houston.

He was survived by two sons, Ronald C. (Deb) Baker of Denver, and Douglas L. (Deb) Baker of Stuart, Fl; two daughters, Karen L. Estridge of Pensacola, Fl. and Brenda J. (Jamey) Kahalley of Molino, Fl; nine grandchildren, Robert (Crystal) Baker, Michael (Lee) Estridge, Kevin (Joyce) Estridge, Chris (Mary) Estridge, and Christina Estridge, Samantha (Charles) Phillips of Pensacola, Sean Kahalley of Molino, Fl Abe (Lisa) Baker and Adam (Krista) Baker of Denver CO, and Jamie Lea (Stephen) Jester of Tulsa,OK; and many great-grandchildren; sister-in-law Merlyn Houston of Kamis, Utah and brother-in-law Earl Sutphen of Montrose, CO.

Family will have a private ceremony and be taking his ashes to Colorado as requested.

Eleanor Anna Conover, 97, of Pensacola, FL passed away peacefully on April 12, 2019. She was born on January 20, 1922 to Annie and John Hassebrook in Molino, FL.

She was preceded in death by her siblings, Fred, Feadore, Clara, Martin, Arthur, Albert, Carl, Dorothy, Caroline, Herman and Emanuel; son, Martin Conover.

She is survived by her children and their spouses, Carolyn and Jerry Evans, Joan Conover and Larry Reckers, Bree Conover and David Brewer; grandson, Eric Evans and wife Leisa; siblings, Cornelia Gooden, John Hassebrock, Anne Jernigan, Harry Hassebrock, Edwin Hassebrock.

A Visitation for family and friends will be held at 11:00 am Friday, April 19, 2019 at Bayview Fisher-Pou Chapel, 3351 Scenic Hwy., Pensacola, FL 32503. Funeral Service will be at 12:00 pm with a reception to follow.

Giles D. Chapman, Jr.

Giles D. Chapman, Jr. 91 of Atmore, AL. passed away Friday, April 12, 2019 in Atmore. He was born in Demopolis, AL. on December 23, 1927 to the late Giles D. and Lida Alston Chapman, Sr. He was a retired drug salesman from McKesson and Robbins Drug Company. He was a member of First United Methodist Church of Atmore and was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Kathryn T. Chapman and a sister Joyce Fleming.

He is survived by his son; G. David (Carolyn) Chapman, III of Gulf Shores, AL. and daughter; Mary “Kathy” (Bryan) Keel of Atmore, AL; sister Jo McVay of Birmingham, AL. grandchildren; Dixon Keel and David (Melissa) Keel.

Graveside services will be held Sunday, April 14, 2019 at 10:30 AM at Grove Hill Cemetery in Grove Hill, AL.

A celebration of life service will be held Sunday, April 14, 2019 at 2 PM from the First United Methodist Church of Atmore with Pastor Mike Blair officiating.

Joseph Donald “Donnie” Fillingim

Joseph Donald “Donnie” Fillingim, age 79, passed away at home on April 5, 2019 after an extended illness.

Donnie was born March 17, 1940 in Molino, Florida, where he resided most of his life. He served in the US Navy and retired from Monsanto in 1995. He was of Methodist faith.

Donnie is survived by his daughter and son in law, Donna & Michael Ishee, two grandchildren, Emily and Caleb Ishee of Pace, sisters, Diane (Dale) Kennerson of Molino and Joyce Irizarry of Pensacola. He also left behind many nieces, nephews, and numerous other family members and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence “Rit” and Mildred Harris Fillingim, brothers, Duke (Diane) Fillingim and Dee (Joan) Fillingim.

Visitation & Service will be Sunday, April 14, 2019 from 1:00pm-3:00pm at Eastern Gate Chapel followed immediately by a funeral service at 3:00pm with Pastor Pam Avery officiating.

Private interment of ashes to be held at a later date.

Eastern Gate Memorial Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Earldeen Merritt Brunson

April 10, 2019

Earldeen Merritt Brunson was born December 20, 1930 in Baker, Florida to Earl and Inez Mount Merritt. She lived in the Baker/Milligan area until moving to Pensacola in 1959. Earldeen was retired from Chemstrand/Monsanto, where she worked as a spool operator. She was a member of Hillcrest Baptist Church. She loved gospel music, her Sunday School class, and working in her yard, but most of all she loved her family. Earldeen died April 6, 2019.

She was married to Daniel J. Brunson, also of Baker, for 53 years, until he died in 2003. She was also predeceased by three of her siblings: Carzie White, Joyce Troyer, and Donnie Proctor.

Earldeen is survived by a sister: Orpha Swilley, of Pensacola, and a brother: Winston (Marie) Merritt, of Baker. She is also survived by her 4 children: Reva (Cliff) Godwin of DeFuniak Springs, Dan Brunson of Pace, Karen (Pat) Mobley of Pensacola, Linda (Curtis) Salzer of Walnut Hill; 11 Grandchildren: Tisha Godwin Hurst, Janel Brunson Patterson, Dan Godwin, Jason Brunson, James Godwin, Kiera Mobley Wallace, Steven Godwin, Kimberly Mobley, Tamara Mobley McDonald, Cody Parker, Steven Hessler; 20 great-grandchildren, and 1 great great grandchild.

She will be missed, especially at our family gatherings which she so enjoyed.

A service celebrating her life will be Thursday, April 11, 2019, 2 p.m. at Faith Chapel Funeral Home North with a time of visitation from 1 to 2 p.m. Reverends Pat Mobley, Joel McDonald, and Adam Wallace will officiate.

Elouise Isaacks

Mrs. Elouise Isaacks, age 67, passed away on Friday, April 5, 2019 at her home in Walnut Hill, Florida.

Mrs. Isaacks was a native of Mobile, AL, former resident of Greenville, MS (20 years) and had resided in Walnut Hill, FL for the past 15 years. She was a team truck driver with her husband and a member of the New Life Fellowship Church. She is preceded in death by her parents, Jessie and Beatrice Davis; two sisters, Catherine Warner and Joyce Osburne and two brothers, Roy Davis and Jessie Davis.

She is survived by her husband of 34 years, Jimmie Isaacks of Walnut Hill, FL; two sons, Todd Jason Isaacks of Midlothian, TX and Robert McCormick of Walnut Hill, FL; one daughter, Bobbie Kay (Mike) Miller of Atmore, AL; one brother, Billy Davis of Frisco City, AL; one sister, Ruth (Robert L.) Gates of Walnut Hill, FL; six grandchildren, Richard Taylor, Shianne Sheedy, Madelin Sheedy, Paige Isaacks, Victoria Isaacks and Robby McCormick and one great grandchild, Cory Taylor.

Funeral services will be held Monday, April 8, 2019 at 7:00 PM at the Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home with Bro. Ray W. Hudson officiating.

Andrea Kay Byars

April 7, 2019

Mrs. Andrea Kay (Harmon) Byars passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by family and friends, on April 7, 2019, at the age of 53.

Kay is survived by her husband, Perry Byars; her mother, Evana Harmon of Huntsville, AL; two children, Andrea (Zach) Huff of Huntsville, AL and Micah (Heather) Byars of Waycross, GA; three brothers, Alan (Thelma) Harmon of Ridgeway, VA, Grady (Margret) Harmon of Huntsville, AL, and Stephan (Betsy) Harmon of Killen, AL; as well as 13 nieces and nephews, Dakota, Raney, Clarke, Kara, Aeryn, Jackson, Preston, Nathaniel, Zachary, Scott, Sean, Spencer, and Samuel.

Kay is preceded in death by her father, Jack Harmon, of Huntsville, AL.

Kay was born on December 22, 1965, in Hammond, Indiana to Jack and Evana Harmon. She graduated from Hardin County High School in 1984 and received her Associate of Business Education from Florida College in 1986. On June 26, 1987, she married the love of her life, Perry Byars. They lived in Lakeland, FL for 12 years before moving to Oak Grove, FL. Kay was a stay at home mother who was active in the PTA and the community. She also worked as a substitute teacher for six years and as a health technician at Northview High School for eight years.

Kay was a generous, loving, and caring individual with an infectious laugh. She cared deeply for her family and friends and would do anything to help those around her. Kay was a dedicated Northview FFA mom. She faithfully worked with the students and chaperoned various trips and competitions that the students attended. She was an active and dedicated member of Oak Grove Church of Christ.

Her funeral is scheduled for Monday, April 8, 2019, at Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home in Atmore, AL.

Visitation will be from 1 pm until 4 pm with service to follow. Brad Sullivan will officiate the ceremony.

Interment will be at Oak Grove Cemetery following the service.

All are welcome to attend and celebrate Mrs. Kay’s life.

In lieu of flowers, Mrs. Kay requested that donations be sent St. Jude Children’s Hospital.

The family would like to thank Emerald Coast Hospice for their care and dedication.

Carol Lynne Vanderhoff

Carol Lynne Vanderhoff, age 77 of Cantonment, Florida passed away Thursday, April 4, 2019. She was born July 12, 1941 in Rockford, Illinois to Wendell William Hoel and Doris Pauline Buckles Hoel. Lynne was a devout and active member of The First Christian Church Pensacola (Disciples of Christ). After retiring as an insurance claims representative at Lakeview Center she enjoyed spending time working in her yard, outings with the Red Hats Society, taking care of others and loving her precious Chihuahua “Angel”.

Lynne was preceded in death by her husband Albert Vanderhoff and her parents. She is survived by her daughters Lisa Vanderhoff (Theresa) Sherry Vanderhoff, and Kimberly Clanton (Scott), her brother Wayne Hoel (Anita), her sister Doris Hoel (Jerry), and grandchildren Garrett Bourdon, Shawn Vaughn (Lowell), Kiley Hudson and Bryston Hudson.

A service celebrating her life will be held Monday, April 8, 2019 at Pensacola Memorial Gardens Funeral Home. The family will receive friends for visitation from 1-2:00 PM. The funeral will begin at 2:00 PM with Rev. Glenn Vaughn officiating. Interment will follow in the Pensacola Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
