Charles D. Bryan

Ret. Lt. Col. Charles D Bryan, born October 13, 1923, died peacefully at his home in [i]Mobile on May 18, 2019. He is survived by loving his wife of 73 years, Louise Strickland Bryan; two sons: Chuck Bryan (Bonnie) of Mobile and Ret. Lt. Col. Gary D. Bryan (Connie) of Las Vegas, NV (formerly of Pensacola, FL. four grandchildren: Charles L. Bryan, Jr. (Julie), Fairhope AL; Layne Bryan Abee (Aaron), Smithville, TX; Lt. Col. Marcus Bryan (Tracie), Pensacola, FL and Sara Bryan, Las Vega, N; seven great grandchildren: Christopher, Haley and Alyssa Bryan, Pensacola, FL. Jackson and Thompson Bryan, Fairhope, AL and Conrad and Bella Abee, Smithville, TX.

Charles was born in McCulla, AL and served his country as a Marine in World War II and served in the Army for the Korean War and two tours in Vietnam. He was awarded three Bronze Stars and the Vietnamese Cross of Gallantry. He graduated from the University of Nebraska Omaha. He also served his state as Deputy Commissioner of Prisons and served his church, Walnut Hill Baptist Church as a Deacon and other positions.

Charles was a devoted husband who married his childhood sweetheart and were married for 73 years. He was a devoted father who loved his family. He was the last surviving member from a large family of seven siblings. He was a loving uncle and loved spoiling his grandchildren. He even loved his grand dogs.

After retiring from the Military from a career that took him overseas and all over the country, he came home to Walnut Hill, Florida. He loved fishing with his brothers, witnessing to those in need, he loved to travel and was an avid reader keeping Tom Clancy on the top of the Best Seller list. He LOVED his Alabama Crimson Tide and above all he was a man of God.

Funeral arrangements are handled by Johnson Quimby Funeral Home in Atmore, AL. Visitation and the Funeral Service will be held from Walnut Hill Baptist Church with interment at the Walnut Hill Baptist Cemetery on Wednesday, May 22, 2019. Family viewing at 11:30 and general public from noon until 2 p.m.. Funeral services will begin at 2 p.m.

Pallbearers are: Skip Bryan, Danny Bryan, Steve Bryan, Brett Ward, Rob Faircloth and Wesley Foster.

Samuel Edgar “Red” Killam

Mr. Samuel Edgar “Red” Killam, age 92, passed away on Saturday, May 18, 2019 in Century, Florida.

Mr. Killam was a native and life long resident of Byrneville, FL. Mr. Killam was self employed as a farmer, enjoyed working with his cows, gardening, and a veteran of WWII and was of the Assembly of God Faith. He worked with Smith Construction and was employed with Jack Smith as a carpenter. He is preceded in death by his wife, Sibyl Killam; mother, Dora Lee Killam; father, Sam Killam and nephew, Bubba Hayles.

He is survived by his brother, John Elton (Betty) Killam of Byrneville, FL; two sisters, Evelyn Killam of Byrneville, FL and Earlene Hayles of Lottie, AL and a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, May 23, 2019 at 11:00 AM at the Beulah Chapel Assembly of God Church with Bro. Tim Floyd officiating.

Burial will follow at the Beulah Chapel Cemetery.

Visitation will be held Thursday, May 23, 2019 from 10:00 AM until service time at 11:00 AM at the Beulah Chapel Assembly of God Church.

Pallbearers will be Vic Killam, Vince Killam, Joey Killam, Kelby Killam, Blaine Waltman and Mike Beals.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Arnold Burkett, Levon Little, Herman Armstrong, Charles Smith, Charles Steadham and Raymond Wiggins.

Shirley Jean Turner

Mrs. Shirley Jean Turner, age 60, passed away on Saturday, May 11, 2019 at her home in Atmore, Alabama.

Mrs. Turner was a native and life long resident of Atmore, AL. Shirley was an exceptional wife, mother, mother-in-law, grandmother and great grandmother. She was an avid shopper who also enjoyed tubing and being at the creek with her family and friends. She was a great friend and was always helping others. She will be deeply missed by her family and all who knew her. She is preceded in death by her father, Milford J. Jordan; mother, Barbara Ann Jordan; brother, Melvin Jenks Jordan; grandfather, Jenkins Montgomery Jordan; grandmother, Onzy Burkett Jordan and half-sister, Diane Chapman.

She is survived by her husband of 31 years, Avery Turner of Atmore, AL; one son, Anthony (Corrie) Jordan of Atmore, AL; one step-son, Phillip Turner of Bratt, FL; seven grandchildren, Brianna, Tyler, Tyler, Nathan, Lauren, Anthony Jr. and Zack and one great grandchild, Kaegan.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, May 15, 2019 at 2:00 PM at the Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home with Bro. Steve Breceda and Rev. Ray Ward officiating.

Burial will follow at the New Home Cemetery.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, May 14, 2019 from 6 to 9 PM at the Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home.

Marvin Lewis Sanders

Marvin Lewis Sanders, 79 of Bratt, FL. passed away Sunday May 19, 2019, in Century, FL. He was a paper makerer with Plastic Coated Paper Company, born in Robinsonville, AL, on March 31, 1940, to the late A.D. and Maggieleen Marrow Sanders. He was a member of Oak Grove Church of Christ.

Preceded by his parents, and a daughter, Nelline Steel.

Survivors are, his wife, of 57 Years Rita Berry Sanders of Bratt, FL; son, Michael Eric (Jill) Sanders of Bell, FL; two sisters, Louverne Starkie of Century, FL, and Mary Ethel Smith of Brewton, AL; two grandchildren, Richard Kyle (Myah) Sanders and Deborah Marie (Ryan) Moore; and eight great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be Wednesday May 22, 2019, at 10 a.m. at Oak Hill Cemetery in Atmore. Interment will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery.

William “Bill” John Hubner, Jr.

William “Bill” John Hubner, Jr., passed away Wednesday, May 15, 2019. Bill owned Quality Wholesale Cars in Pensacola for over twenty years. He enjoyed boating, skiing, snow skiing and being outdoors.

He is preceded in death by his father, John Hubner, Sr. and his brother, David Paul Hubner.

He is survived by his two sons, David Hubner (Holly) and John Guthrie (Courtney); two grandchildren, Ella Parker Guthrie and Anna Kate Guthrie; former wife, JoAnn Hubner; mother, Loretta Ann Hubner and his sister, Donna Scarborough (David).

Visitation will be Monday, Mary 20, 2019 at Faith Chapel Funeral Home South from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Funeral service will be Tuesday, May 21, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. with Reverend Riley Richardson officiating. Interment will be at Bayview Memorial Park Cemetery.

Mr. J.C. Marshall

Mr. J.C. Marshall, age 85, passed away May 13, 2019 at his home in Canoe, Alabama.

Mr. Marshall was a native and life long resident of Canoe, AL. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, loved Alabama Football and was a member of the Canoe First Baptist Church. He worked for Stuckey Oil Company with 20 years of service, had his own truck that he leased to Genie Trucking Company for 6 years and worked at the Creek Travel Plaza in maintenance. He is preceded in death by his parents, four brothers and two sisters.

He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Leitha Marshall of Canoe, AL; one son, James Melton (Mary) Cardwell of Easton, Missouri; two daughters, Pam (Marlin) Iutzi of Flomaton, AL and Candy Stuckey of Canoe, AL; eight grandchildren, Jamie Cardwell, Crystal Propher, Meagen Hyatt, Ashlee Bryars, Carlee Bell, Cayla Gohagan, Courtney Cook and Christina Gohagan and nineteen great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, May 16, 2019 at 3:00 PM at the Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home with Rev. Waylon Stuckey officiating.

Burial will follow at the Canoe Freewill Cemetery.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, May 15, 2019 from 6 to 8 PM at the Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home.

Teresa Langley Allen

Teresa Langley Allen, 66, of Molino Florida, went to be with the Lord, May 13, 2019.

Mrs. Allen was a native of Florida. She retired from the State of Florida Department of Children and Family to travel the country with her soul mate David Allen. They had many wonderful adventures and made a lifetime of memories. Many of those with their son, Jay and granddaughter, Alyssa. Teresa will be missed forever.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Wiley and Wilma Langley; sister, Toni Woodall; and her son, John Russell Allen.

Survivors include her husband, David Kenneth Allen; son, John Jay (Jordan) Templet; granddaughter, Alyssa Marie Templet; brothers, Daniel (Tracie) Langley and Donald Langley; and many special nieces and nephews. Teresa told them all they were her favorites.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 16, 2019 at Faith Chapel North. Burial will follow in Little Pine Barren Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at 2:00 p.m. prior to services.

Pallbearers: Colter Nowlen, Lucas Gilmore, Douglas Allen, Brandon Langley, Donnell Thomas, and Charles Allen. Honorary Pallbearers: Bryan Allen, Frankie Archer, Bobby Eubanks, Larry King, Arnold Kennedy and Eric Allen.

Kenneth Lee McDade, 68 of Nokomis, FL. passed away on Sunday May 12, 2019 at His residence. He was an Chemical Operator, born in Memphis, TN, on June 24, 1950 to the late Charles and Helen Johnson McDade.

He is preceded in death by His Parents, Brothers, Jerry McDade and Larry McDade Sisters, Henriette Baldwin and Cheryl Graham.

Survivors His wife, Wilma Phillips Waters of Nokomis, Fl. One Son, Christopher McDade of Loxley, AL A Step-Son, Joseph Hubbird of Nokomis, FL. Two Daughters, Wendy Rolin of Loxley, AL Amy Bartee of Tenn. Four Step- Daughters, Rejeania Moore of Covington, La. Candis Story of Foley, AL. Michelle Ganus of Millry, Al. and Melissa Rhinhart of Canoe, AL. One Sister, Gloria Simpson of MS. Numerous Grandchildren and Great-grandchildren.

A visitation will be May 14, 2018 Tuesday at Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home from 5PM to 6PM.

David Parente

On May 2, 2019, David was called to be with our Lord. David was born on October 28, 1986, in Pensacola, Florida. David comes from a huge Portuguese family and leaves behind a beautiful daughter; his mini-me, Emmerie Jane. Anyone who knew David, knew his infectious cheese-smile, knew he always had a fresh haircut, a joke flying out of his mouth and would be the life of any party, along with his brother Michael. His heart was bigger than life and he will be
missed dearly.

David is preceded in death by his mother, Carla Parente; grandparents, Luis and Juliette Parente; Nanny (great grandmother), Bertha Buckley; grandparents, Quinto and Maureen Carloni; uncle, Marc Carloni; and nephew, Matthew
Crutchfield, Jr.

He is survived by his daughter, Emmerie Parente; dad, Albano (Tanya) Parente; sister, Michelle (Matt) Parente Crutchfield; brothers, Michael Parente and Joseph (Grace) Parente; niece, Ansleigh Crutchfield; nephew, Tristan Parente; and many aunts, uncles and many, many cousins.

A visitation will be held at Faith Chapel North on Monday, May 13, 2019, from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m.  The funeral service will begin at 11 a.m. with burial following at Pensacola Memorial Gardens.

Pallbearers will be Michael Parente, Joseph Parente, Matt Crutchfield, Chris Calloway, Brandon Heckman, Sean Scharfenstine, Justin Redding and Brandon Rhyne.

Roger Glenn Dockens, age 19, passed away on Friday, May 3, 2019, in Bratt, Florida.

Roger was a native of Pensacola, FL and had resided in Bratt, FL for most of his life. He was a member of the Bratt First Baptist Church and former student at Northview High School. He is preceded in death by his mother, Amanda Sue Dockens.

He is survived by his father, Rodney G. Dockens of Bratt, FL; maternal grandparents, Joe (Soksu) Snyder of Martin, KY; paternal grandparents, Roger Glenn Dockens, Sr. of Bratt, FL and Ethel Jannice Dockens of Milton, FL and two brothers, Joseph Cabrera of Martin, KY and Colton Tyler Dockens of Bratt, FL.

Funeral services were held Friday, May 10, 2019, at the Bratt First Baptist Church.

Burial was at the Godwin Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Jim Lawson, Dewayne Conner, Chris Edwards, Ryan Godwin, Max Odom and Josh Long.
