Mrs. Lena Mae Odom, age 83, passed away Wednesday, September 4, 2019, in Century, Florida.
Mrs. Odom was a native of Jay, FL and had resided in Century, FL for most of her life. She was a member of the Tabernacle Baptist Church. She is preceded in death by her husband, James Calvin Odom; son, James Michael Odom; parents, Sidney and Fannie Warrick; brothers, J.T. Warrick, Dawyan Warrick, Red Warrick and Rayford Warrick; and sisters, Ola Pearl Lambeth and Fannie Bell Warrick.
She is survived by one daughter, Joyce Ann (Mike) Gunn of Century, FL; daughter-in-law, Danette Odom of Century, FL; six grandchildren, Shonna Gilmore, Lynae Clarke, Joy Malone, Danette Odom, Megan Jernigan and Marissa Apple; four great-grandchildren, Emma Gilmore, Sawyer Gilmore, Bennett Malone and expected baby Jernigan and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
Funeral services were held Sunday, September 8, 2019, at the Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home with Rev. Doug Odom officiating.
Burial was in the Flomaton Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Eric Gilmore, Nick Clarke, Ryan Malone, Tab Jernigan, Greg Apple and Joey Warrick.

Flora M. Lowery

Mrs. Flora M. “Dell” Lowery, age 87, passed away Tuesday, September 3, 2019, in Atmore, Alabama.
Mrs. Lowery was native of Elba, AL and resided in Century, FL for most of her life. She was a member of the Century Chamber of Commerce and the Century United Methodist Church. She was the former owner of Lowery’s Food Store and Car Sales.
She is survived by her two daughters, Vickie Dell Soto of Mississippi and Nancy Jean (Mike) Wedgeworth of Flomaton, AL; one sister, Emma Virginia McCurdy of East Brewton, AL; five grandchildren, Jill McMullan, Michael Ward, B.J. Ward, Allie Ward and Mike Wedgeworth, II; 18 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
Funeral services were held Saturday, September 7, 2019, at the Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home with Bro. Jonathan Hill officiating.
Burial was at the McCurdy Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Andy McCurdy, Eddie Dunsford, B.J. Ward, Michael Wedgeworth, Kobe Ward and Jack McCullan.
Honorary pallbearers were Robert Newton and Doug McCurdy.

Molly Allen Norris

Molly Allen Norris, 81 of Atmore, AL, passed away September 5, 2019, in Pensacola, FL. She was born in Pineville, FL, on July 23, 1938, to the late Robert “Bobby” William and Agnes Joiner Allen. She was a lifelong member of the Atmore First Assembly of God church where she played piano and served in many capacities in the church. In her working career she worked for Hoehn Firestone Tire, Atmore Advance and for Dr. Maxwell at Physician Associates of Atmore. She enjoyed her and her husband’s ministry at Atmore Nursing Home where she also volunteered in the beauty shop.
She is preceded by her parents and two brothers, Daniel Allen and Harold Allen.
She is survived by her husband, Edgar D. Norris of Atmore, AL; two children, Terry (Becky) Norris of Belforest, AL and Janet (Steve) McGill of Atmore, AL; three sisters, Mary Lee (Robert) Morrison of Spartanburg, SC; Irene Goodman and Joyce McGraw both of Theodore, AL; four grandchildren, Chris (Stephanie) Phillipy, Rebecca (Tom) Hartner, Whitney (Jacob) Malohovich, Jordan (Lewis) Jones; and eight great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Sunday, September 8, 2019, at Atmore First Assembly of God Church with Bro. Don Davis officiating.
Burial was in Serenity Gardens Cemetery.

Jeffrey Stephen Raithel
September 10, 2019
Jeffrey Stephen Raithel, 59, passed away on Saturday, August 31, 2019, in Pensacola, Florida. Jeffrey was born on December 15, 1959, in Pensacola, Florida. He graduated from Mountain High School in West Orange, New Jersey in 1978. He then joined the United States Air Force and proudly served our country. After leaving the United States Air Force, Jeff lived in Colorado until 2009 and then moved to Pensacola, Florida. He lived life to the fullest by doing the things he loved like getting his pilot’s license and flying Cessnas, working on computers, security systems and cars, camping, hiking and loving all of his family and pets with all his heart.
He is preceded in death by his father, Robert B. Raithel, Jr.
Jeffrey is survived by his mother, Mildred Raithel; brothers, Timothy and Robert Raithel; sister, Sheryl Raithel; nephew, Seth Raithel; and his beloved cat, Bonita.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, September 10, 2019, at noon, at Faith Chapel Funeral Home North with Pastor Randy Hamil officiating.
Burial will follow in Barrancas National Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at 11 a.m. prior to services.

Richard Maxwell Williams

Richard was born in Pensacola, Florida and raised his family in the Cantonment area where he resided until his passing. A lifetime member of Future Farmers of American, he was involved in the agricultural industry and a real estate broker for over 35 years. He was a hardworking man that raised his children and grandchildren to be the same. He instilled Christian values and the value of hard work to his family. All who knew him knew he had an outstanding character and his word was good with just a handshake.
He will be loved and missed by all.
He is preceded in death by his son, Richard Maxwell Williams, Jr.; mother, Mary Elizabeth Williams Harmon; sister, Linda C. Parker; and father, Walter M. Williams.
Richard is survived by his wife, Marjorie C. Williams; two sons, Timothy M. and Ronald K. (Jackie) Williams; daughter, Jeannie L. (Neil A.) Brown; granddaughter, Erica Faircloth; grandson, Dyllan Brown; four granddaughters, Shelby French, Lauren Volk, Tata Williams, and Taylor Williams; great-grandson, Hudson Paul Faircloth.
Funeral services were held Sunday, September 8, 2019, at Gonzalez United Methodist Church with Pastor Ramsey officiating.
Burial was in Gonzalez United Methodist Church Cemetery.

Ossie H. “Coach” Givens, 76, of Pensacola, FL went to be in the arms of our loving Father on September 5, 2019. He was born on August 19, 1943, in Seminole, AL to the late Thomas E. and Inez Williams Givens.
He was a retired school teacher and had coached the girls basketball team and other sports at Escambia High School in Atmore, AL.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 16 years, Brenda Givens; sons, Mickey (Margaret) Givens and Van (Tonya) Givens; brothers, Thomas and Leon Givens; Brenda’s sons, Britt (Debbie) Lockey and Daniel (Kelly) Lockey; grandchildren, Haley, Caden, Aaron, Lani, Gavin, Ella, Valor, and Reagan.
Funeral services were held Monday, September 9, 2019, at Faith Chapel Funeral Home North with Pastor Jimmy Robertson officiating.
Burial was in Pensacola Memorial Gardens Cemetery.

Sheila ‘Rochelle’ Bankston

Mrs. Sheila ‘Rochelle’ Bankston, age 77, of Century, FL, passed away on Monday, September 9, 2019 at Sacred Heart Hospital in Pensacola, FL.
Rochelle was born in Flomaton, AL, and had been a resident of the Century area for 62 years. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Bratt. She was a dedicated mother, grandmother, aunt, sister, and friend. She was well known for her outreach to others who were in need. Baking and delivering pound cakes to those who were sick was her specialty. Rochelle was a strong woman both physically and mentally, she never gave up, and was more concerned abut others than about herself. She loved being a caretaker and helping others and was gifted with the talent of knowing how to minister to those in need, always offering comforting words and following through with actions. She could feed an army on a budget and could dish out a fine meal in no time. She especially enjoyed cooking with her children and grandchildren. Making all of her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren feel loved was a well developed gift that she possessed. Rochelle loved babies and children and took time to truly get to know each grandchild and made each and every one of them feel special. Words cannot express the love that her family felt for her and she for them. When you went to Granny Rochelle’s house, you always felt welcomed with a hug, and plenty of home cooked food.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Warren and Ruby Burkett; her first husband and father of her children, Billy Jackson Macks; her late husband, Dillard Bankston; a granddaughter, Stephanie Macks; two great-grandchildren, Caroline Rose Bryan, and Adam Knowles ; and a step-son, Darrell Bankston; brothers, Shep Burkett, Joe Burkett, Charles Burkett, Dempsey Burkett; sister, Susie Penton.
She is survived by three sons, William Edward ‘Bill’ Macks, Daniel B. Macks, and Samuel O. (Cheryl) Macks all of Century, FL; two daughters, Sheila (Terry) Bryan and Robbie (Alton) Hammac; step-daughter, Lajuana (Keith) Reid, all of Century, FL; brothers, Mose Burkett of Jay, FL, Robert Burkett of Brewton, AL, Arthur Burkett of Madison, FL; sisters, Frances (Ed) Hayles of Atmore, AL, Essie Amodeo of Milton, FL, Edwina (Red) Calloway of Brewton, AL, Reatha Emmons of Brewton, AL, Mary (Alton) Daniels of Milton, FL :grandchildren, Rachel Knowles, Ramona Gatewood, Jill Laborde, Heath Bryan, Monica Dudney, Miles Hammac, Lane Macks, Kayleigh Macks, Austin Macks, Samantha Peters, Skyler Macks, Michael Jacobs, Melissa Jacobs; 24 great-grandchildren.

Interment will be in Moyeville Cemetery, Flomaton, AL.

Ray D. Landis
September 5, 2019
Ray D. Landis, 82, of Souderton, PA went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, September 5, 2019, at Souderton Mennonite Homes.
He was the loving husband of Celia N. Landis for 55 years. Ray was born in Souderton, Pennsylvania to the late Alvin F. Landis and the late Edith (Derstine) Landis.
He graduated from Souderton Area High School, class of 1944. Ray attended Pierce Business School. He worked as a business clerk for Moyer & Son in Souderton, as a business administrator for Elvin R. Souder Law Office in Souderton, in the business management department at Aibonito Mennonite Hospital in Aibonito, Puerto Rico, as an accountant for Detweiler Hershey & Associates in Souderton, and then as a cashier and in the produce department for Landis Supermarket in Telford.
Ray was a member of Franconia Mennonite Church where he served as a youth leader. He was a missionary pastor in Puerto Rico for nine years and was involved in local church planting. Ray was a member of First Mennonite Church in Norristown where he was involved in the Spanish ministry and later became a member of Perkiomenville Mennonite Church. Throughout his ministry, he always served as a song leader and Sunday school teacher. Ray also sang with the Franconia Lancaster Choral Singers and the Zion Choral Society for many years.
He volunteered his time at the Souderton Mennonite Homes by reading the Bible and singing with the residents.
Ray loved spending time with his family. He was an avid reader and student of the Bible and enjoyed creating weekly flower arrangements for the Perkiomenville Mennonite Church. Ray was very passionate about music and singing. A highlight in his life was when he sang with his family as the “Landis Family Singers” and they took a three week trip to Puerto Rico where they sang in 13 different Mennonite churches. He enjoyed flowers and gardening and was awarded many ribbons for his horticultural entries. Ray enjoyed photography and visiting and singing to the elderly.
He was a devoted husband, wonderful father, and loving grandfather and great-grandfather. Although reserved, Ray was a faithful and loyal servant especially to the church. He was a hardworking, principled, creative, and intelligent man.
In addition to his wife, Ray is survived by his five children, E. Keila Goshow and husband, Michael of Hatfield, PA, David R. Landis and wife, Deborah of Atmore, AL , Ruth N. Janton and husband, Jeffrey of Pennsburg, PA, Alvin R. Landis and wife, Dawn of Telford, PA, and Rachel A. Stinedurf and husband, Paul of Clio, MI; his 19 grandchildren – Tirsa, Tori, Micah, Diana, David, Darren, Monica, Veronica, Natalie, Valerie, Josiah, Esther, Anna, Samuel, Faith, Montague, Maxwell, Morgan, and Paige; seven great-grandchildren – Hayden, Sydney, Jax, Daisy, Tommy, Zeke, and Joy; his sister, Charlotte Landis of Harleysville, PA; and his brother, David Landis and wife, Sharon of Harleysville, PA.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Darla Joy Landis and his sister, June Ruth.
A viewing will be held on Monday, September 9, 2019, at Perkiomenville Mennonite Church, 1836 Gravel Pike, Perkiomenville, Pennsylvania 18074 from 9 a.m. until 11 a.m., followed by a funeral service at 11 a.m.
Burial will take place at Perkiomenville Mennonite Cemetery.

Gina Elizabeth Burnette, 44 of Springhill, FL, passed away on Monday August 26, 2019, in Springhill, FL. She was a graduate of Ernest Ward High School. She worked in retail sales and was a Master Gardener of Hernando County, FL. She was born in Atmore, AL on May 14, 1975, to Billy Franklin and Roberta Glass.
She is preceded in death by her husband, John Burnette and step-father, George Strickland.
She is survived by one Son, Jonathan Burnette of Springhill, FL; two daughters, Sarah (Joe) Cobb of Louisville, KY and Abby Burnette of Springhill, FL; mother, Roberta Strickland of Walnut Hill, FL and father, Billy (Lisa) Franklin of Walnut Hill, FL; two brothers, Billy (Stacie) Franklin II of Daphne, AL and Bobby (Tangy) Franklin of Picayune, MS; one sister, Windy (Bill) Meredith of Springhill, FL and one grandson, Owen Cobb; 12 nieces and nephews and three great-nephews.
Services were held Saturday, August 31, 2019, at Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Michael Montgomery officiating.
Interment was in Pine Barren Baptist Cemetery.

Mrs. Linda Yaden Steadham, age 65, of McDavid, FL passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 29, 2019 at her home.
Mrs. Steadham was born in Century, FL, and she spent her lifetime there where she worked and retired as a mail processor for the U.S. Postal Service in Pensacola, FL. She was a member of Grace Baptist Church, and was preceded in death by her loving parents, Bruce and Ruby Crawley Yaden, and her brother, Bruce Yaden, Jr.
She is survived by her husband of 16 years, David Steadham of McDavid, FL; son, Casey Burkett of Mobile, AL; brother, Ronnie (Joyce) Yaden of Pensacola, FL; sister-in-law, Debbie Yaden of Pensacola, FL; brothers-in-law, Danny (Minner) Steadham and Jeff (Sue) Steadham of McDavid, FL; nieces, Debbie (Dennis) Finegan of Green Cove Springs, FL, Karen (Andy) Layton of Milton, FL, Daniele Steadham of Pensacola, Fl; nephews, Jeffery (Jill) Steadham of McDavid, FL, Ian Steadham of McDavid, FL; great nieces and nephews, Andrew Howell, Christina Finegan, Wesley Layton, Ashley Finegan, Liam Steadham and Abby Edwards.
