Christopher Cary Cardwell

Christopher Cary Cardwell passed peacefully in his sleep at home on Sunday, August 18, 2019.
He was born May 13, 1966, to the late Water “Danny” Cardwell and Judy (Barrow) Cardwell in Edwards Airforce Base, CA; spending the majority of his life in Pensacola, FL.
He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Teresa (Coggin) Cardwell; his daughter, Brittany (Cardwell) Cummings; his son-in-law, Caleb Cummings; his granddaughter, Emelia Cummings; his mother, Judy (Barrow) Cardwell; and his brothers, Kevin and Brandon Cardwell.
He is preceded in death by his father, Water (Danny) Cardwell; his paternal grandparents, Anton “Buddy” Cardwell and Mattie Cardwell; and his maternal grandparents, William Barrow and Ruby Barrow.
He was a graduate of Tate High School Class of 1984. Growing up, he was a member of First Baptist Church of Cottage Hill in Cantonment, and then a member of King’s Way Church in Pensacola as an adult. He was an avid reader and talented artist, often seen drawing and creating wood-working projects. A barber by trade, Chris loved every single one of his clients and his craft. He also spent many hours hunting and fishing with his friends and family.
Chris could crack a joke that could lighten any mood. His friends and family say that he was one of the nicest guys you would ever meet.
Friends and families whose lives were touched by Chris’ life celebrated his life at Faith Chapel North Funeral Home on August 22, 2019.
Wiley Grady Milstead

Wiley Grady (Blue) Milstead stepped into the fullness of God’s presence on Monday, August 19, 2019, surrounded by numerous family members. He was born in Walnut Hill, FL, on August 27, 1928, to Grady and Ida Ward Milstead. He lived in Pensacola, FL, Pine Hill, AL, Molino, FL, Zachary, LA, and spent the last few years of his life in the northwestern region of the country, residing for a time in Post Falls, ID, and his final years in the state of Washington, near the town of Ephrata.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, June Briggs Milstead, to whom he was married for over 67 years; two sons, Jonathan Mark and Glenn Eddie Milstead; one granddaughter, Aimee Elizabeth Milstead, and all of his seven siblings.
He is survived by a daughter-in-law, Sharon Robinson Milstead Stewart; a son, C. Grady Milstead and his wife, Claire Biggs Milstead; two daughters, Rebecca Milstead Emmons, and her husband Pat Emmons, Rachel Milstead Dotson, and her husband, Gerald Dotson, 25 grandchildren; 47 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson.
He was known by his mother, siblings, and other extended family members as Boy Blue. His wife and friends called him Blue. His children called him Daddy, his grandchildren, Granddaddy Blue, and his great-grandchildren, Blue Daddy.
As a young man, Blue accepted by faith the gift of eternal life offered to him by His Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. He was an active member of various Baptist churches during his lifetime, First Baptist Church of Ensley, FL, First Baptist Church of Pine Hill, AL, and Dogwood Park Baptist Church in Dogwood Park, FL. He gladly served as a deacon and as an usher.
He worked as an employee of various pulp and paper mills over the course of his life. He worked at the St. Regis mill (now International Paper Co.) in Cantonment, FL, at the MacMillan-Blodel mill (now International Paper Co) in Pine Hill, AL, and at the Georgia Pacific mill in Zachary, LA. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, and spending time with his family and friends. He was a quiet man who will be greatly missed by all who loved him.
As per his wishes, his body will be cremated, and the urn of ashes will be added to the niche alongside that of his wife, June.

Owedia Jewel Kittrell

Owedia Jewel Kittrell, 77, was born in Hubbard, Alabama, April 13, 1942. She died in Pensacola, FL on August 18, 2019, from cancer.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Benjamin Ross Kittrell; her brother, John Aleck “Kit” Kittrell; and her son, infant Langley; and her cousin, Sam Kasl.
She was a Respiratory Therapist for years as well as a “Nanny” for at least 28 children. She was a member of Hillcrest Baptist Church. She enjoyed an active lifestyle as she loved working in her yard, keeping children, and Christmas time. She always took children to certain events.
She is survived by her daughter, Janice Anne Scribner (Chuck); and her granddaughter, Kelly Kaye Westgate (Cody Saint-Fiance, and Reese); and her sister, Rose Ann Coval and family.
Services were held August 24, 2019, at Faith Chapel North.
Jimmy Karl Victor

Mr. Jimmy Karl Victor, age 69, of Atmore, passed away on Saturday, August 17, 2019. He was a native of Perdido but lived most of his life in Atmore. Mr. Victor was a retired painter in the construction industry.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Karl Paul Victor and Sarah Long Victor.
Mr. Victor is survived by three brothers, Johnny Victor of Flomaton, AL, Phillip Victor of Atmore, AL and Donnie Victor of Century, FL; and one sister, Sarah Criswell of McDavid, FL.
A memorial service will be announced at a later date.

Rilla Maxine Bentley

Mrs. Rilla (Maxine) Bentley (née Bush) passed peacefully at her home in the early hours of August 19, 2019, in Pensacola, FL, at the age of 80.
Maxine was born on March 25, 1939, in Georgiana, AL to Adell and Otis Bush. She was one of 13 children. She married Alfred (Tot) Bentley in 1956. Over a period of time, the couple welcomed two children into their home, Belinda and Mickey Bentley. Her children will remember her as a kind, gentle mother who encouraged them to pursue their goals in life. She retired from Kmart after 20 of dedicated service; though her favorite occupation was always being a mother and a “granny”.
She was a generous and loving individual who praised her family with great passion. She will always be remembered as her family’s “biggest fan”. She celebrated them at every turn and was always present in their lives. She enjoyed arts and crafts; and had a talent for capturing the events of her family’s lives in scrapbook form, which will be cherished forever. Admittedly, she also had an affinity for “Coca-Cola Icees” and her favorite Pepsi cup. She also enjoyed decorating and dressing for all holidays and seasons; her home was always a beautiful sight during holiday seasons.
Maxine is survived in life by her children, Belinda and Mickey Bentley; siblings, Margaret Braden, Marion Newsome, Pauline Szabo, Brenda Gruenewald, Gene Bush, Wendal Bush; grandchildren, Alicia Bentley, Alexis Bentley, Brett Bentley, Justin Gorum, Ronnie Respondek, Luke Respondek; great grandchildren, Aubree Gorum.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Alfred (Tot) Bentley; parents, Adell and Otis Bush; siblings, Ethel Hall, Albert Bush, Ollie Ray Bush, Wilburn Bush, Arthur Bush, and W.M. Bush.
Her funeral service was held Friday, August 23, 2019, at Faith Chapel North in Pensacola, FL.
She was laid to rest with her late husband, Alfred (Tot) Bentley at Barrancas National Cemetery.
Daniel Ray Haynes

Daniel Ray “Danny” Haynes, 67, of Pensacola, went to be with the Lord, on August 19, 2019, after a courageous battle with cancer. Danny was born in Asheville, North Carolina on May 9, 1952. He graduated from Escambia High School in 1970. Danny retired from Chevron in 2016 after nearly 40 years in the offshore oil industry. He was a born again Christian and attended Hillcrest Baptist Church. Danny was an avid golfer and loved to bass fish.
He is survived by his loving wife of 39 years, Joy Haynes; a daughter, Misty (Phil) Hiatt; a son, Daniel Adam Haynes; his mother, Ann Arnold; his grandchildren, Madison, Morgan, Mackenzie, and Jackson Hiatt; and his brothers, David and Rick Haynes, all of Pensacola. He is also survived by many other family, friends, golf and fishing buddies.
He was predeceased by his father, Vernon Haynes; and his step-father, Bill Arnold.
Funeral services were held Thursday, August 22, 2019, at Faith Chapel Funeral Home North with Bro. Buddy Boles officiating.
Burial was in Eastern Gate Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Daniel Adam Haynes, David Haynes, Rick Haynes, Phil Hiatt, Jackson Hiatt, and Shane Haynes.
Emma Joan Fillingim

Emma Joan Fillingim, 87 of Atmore, AL, passed away Thursday, August 15, 2019, in Atmore. She was retired from West Florida Hospital medical records department. She was born in Waukegan, IL on March 27, 1932, to the late Jesse L. and Alberta Rohrkaste Bealor, Sr. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Atmore, AL.
Survivors include her husband, Raeburn Fillingim of Atmore; son, Walter Lamar (Charlotte D.) Fillingim of New Braunfels, TX; daughter, Karen Joan “Kitty” (Randy) Day of Atmore; brother, Jesse L. Bealor, Jr. of Leanhaven, FL; grandchildren, Stacey Fillingim, Whitney (Andy) Antley, Jarrod (Crystal) Day; and great-grandchildren, Anders Antley, Scarlett Antley, and Sawyer Antley.
Graveside services were held Wednesday August 21, 2019, at Bayview Memorial Park Cemetery in Pensacola, FL, with Rev. Andy Gartman and Rev. Brennan Peacock officiating.
Interment was in Bayview Memorial Park Cemetery, Pensacola, FL.

Clyde Tyler Creigthon, Jr.

Clyde Tyler Creigthon, Jr. passed from this life into the next on Thursday, August 22, 2019, at the age of 77. He was born February 26, 1942, to the late Clyde Tyler Creighton, Sr. and Jean Chavers Creighton in Pensacola, Florida. He spent most of his life in Cottage Hill, Florida. He lived in Walnut Hill, Florida currently. He owned and operated Cantonment Feed and Supply from 1978 until 2003. He returned in 2010 and operated T&C Feed until 2016. He attended JM Tate High School and graduated in 1960. He was active in FFA and won the state award in 1958. His adult life was spent involved in agriculture and cattle which he loved.
He is preceded in death by his son, Clyde Tyler Creighton, III; and his sister, Susie Creighton Hatcher.
Clyde is survived by his beloved wife, Tammy Boone Creighton; his sisters, Sandra (Russell) White, Deborah (Archie) Clemmons, Dianne (Doyle) Padgett, and Tammy Foster; stepson, Jesse (Melissa) Judson; daughter, Nan Allen; several grandchildren; great-grandchildren; cousins; and friends that he loved.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, August 27, 2019, at 1 p.m. at Faith Chapel Funeral Home North with Charlie Chavers, David Boyd, and Carlo Jackson officiating.
The family will receive friends on Monday, August 26, 2019, from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
Burial will follow in Clear Springs Cemetery, Robertsdale, Alabama.
Pallbearers will be Jesse Judson, Brett Jackson, Tyler Creighton, Jack Martin, Robby Allen, and Johnnie Martin, Archie Clemmons, Russell White, Doyle Padgett, and the Cottage Hill and Tate Bunch.

John Lockhart Holleman

John Lockhart Holleman passed away, Sunday, August 11, 2019, after a short illness and fall. Mr. Holleman was born to John Holleman Sr. and Ena Ruth Holleman in Lafayette, Georgia. He lived in various cities and towns across the Southeast including four years in Kitchener-Waterloo, Ontario, Canada. He married Peggy Morris Holleman in Lafayette, Georgia and raised three children. John worked in various roles in the textile and carpet industry, including taking a Plant Manager role in Canada where he took his family for four years. He later in life ran a convenience store in Atmore, Alabama, and eventually built his own Texaco Truck stop on I-65. John loved his Scottish Terriers who were always close by when he was at his home in Atmore.
Memorial services will be held at a later date.
He is survived by his three children, sons, Douglas (Cyndi) Holleman and Bryan Holleman, and daughter, Mary Jane Farmer, along with numerous grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

Autry Clyde Conway, 82 of Bay Minette, AL, passed away August 16, 2019, in Mobile, AL. He was born in Mobile on May 5, 1937, to the late Clyde L. and Evelyn Buck Conway. He served in the Alabama Army National Guard, was a retired machinist from Kaiser Aluminum and an avid Alabama fan. He was a member of the Bay Minette Lodge #498 F&AM and served with the Bay Minette Police Department Auxiliary. He was a devoted Christian, a member and deacon of Southside Baptist Church.
He is preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Pam Conway; and two brothers, Johnny and Lonnie Conway.
He is survived by his wife, Patricia Arrington Conway of Bay Minette, AL, three sons, Tony (Susan) Conway of Bay Minette, AL, Joseph (Gina) Conway of Richland, MS and Ben Conway of Bay Minette, AL; one daughter, Wendy (Bob) Davis of Bay Minette, AL; 10 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, August 20, 2019, at Southside Baptist Church in Bay Minette, AL with Dr. Larry Patterson and Bro. Jason Hughes officiating.
Burial will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery.
Active pallbearers will be Josh Conway, Brandon Conway, Matt Conway, Caleb Conway, James Conway and Brian White.
