Curtis Columbus Welch, 76 of Bratt, FL, passed away April 27, 2020, in Bratt. He was born in Perdido, AL, to the late Gary C. and Laura Levins Welch on October 27, 1943. He was a farmer most of his life.
He is preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his wife, Marsha Adele Brock Welch of Bratt, FL; four children, Rodney Lee (Crystal) Welch of Maryland, Mark Gary Welch of Virginia, Lisa Jeanette (Jimmy) Sellers of Maryland, and Katie Marsha (Jeff) Grimaud of Tennessee; one brother, Ray Donald Welch of Bratt, FL; sister, Shirley Wyatt of Delaware; 11 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and many family and friends.
Graveside services will be held Saturday, May 2, 2020, at 11:30 a.m. at Pine Barren Baptist Church Cemetery with Bro. Collingsworth officiating.
Active pallbearers are Vincent Moore, Ray Welch, Jeff Grimaud, Jacob Grimaud, Leslie Barnes and James Sigafoose.

Mrs. Ann Elizabeth Johnson, age 80, passed away on Monday, April 27, 2020, in Birmingham, Alabama.
Mrs. Johnson was a native of Atlanta, GA, raised in Andalusia and Birmingham, AL and had resided in Milton, FL for the past five years. She was a member and ordained Deacon of St. Mary’s Episcopal Church in Milton, FL, ZTA Sorority, graduate of Auburn University with BS Degree and Central Michigan University with a MS Degree. Her hobbies included knitting, garden club, loom weaving, backpacking (did a 160 mile trek in the Himalayas), international traveler, camping, charities, reading, cross country skiing and sewing. She retired from Indian Health services as a medical technologist.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. J.D. Simmons.
She is survived by her husband, James Johnson, III; children, Andrew Johnson and Melissa Harris; grandchildren, Matthew, Katie, James, Ben, Deanna, Sarah; great-grandchild, David Stokes, Jr.; brother, Donald Simmons; brother-in-law, Lamar Ellis; and many nephews and nieces.
Visitation will be held Saturday, May 2, 2020, from 10:30 a.m. until 12 p.m. at the Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home.
Memorial services will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Family Resource Center at 6607 Elva Street, Milton, Florida 32570.

Comer Earle Vickery, 69, of Atmore, AL passed away Sunday, April 26, 2020, at his residence. He was a commercial truck driver. He was born in Huxford, AL on September 20, 1950, to the late Comer and Eva Mae Weston Vickery.
He is preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Tonya Lynn Jackson; and siblings, Jean Majors, Mary Clarice Walls and Dalton Vickery.
Survivors include his wife of 38 years, Rebecca Ann Jones Vickery of Atmore, AL; one son, James Ledford of Atmore, AL; one daughter, Mary Elizabeth (William) Kennedy of Pensacola, FL; two brothers, Maurice (Libby) Vickery and Dennis Vickery; three sisters, Gay (Wayne) Drew of McCullough, AL; Jan (Al) Finchman of Gordenville,VA and Annette Thompson of Bay Minette, AL; three grandchildren, Josh Yeend, Matthew Mosley, and Barittane Gibert; great-grandchildren, Cayson, Bileigh Huntleigh, Ava Caroline Ryker, Alexis, and Lanie Ray.

Lola May Byrd Loth

Lola Mae Byrd Loth passed away on April 26, 2020, after a long and fruitful life of nearly 108 years. ln the end she passed quietly during the night at Specialty Health and Rehabilitation facility in Pensacola, FL while recovering from a recent hip fracture.
Wife of William Lemar Byrd, beloved mother of only son, William Garland Byrd, and cherished grandmother of Selinda Byrd Smith and Scott Lemar Byrd, she loved her family and was loved in return.
Lola was born to lda McLain Cohron and Theophlous Marvin Cohron on June 20, 1912 in Excel, Alabama. The fourth youngest child in a family of eight children, she savored memories of her childhood years in rural Alabama. She survived all of her brothers and sisters — Cecil Curtis Cohron (born 1905), Horace Rufers Cohron (born 1906), Otis Cohron (born 1908), Annie Ruth Cohron King (born 1909), Telma Winnie Cohron who died in infancy (born 1915), Maruin Etheridge Cohron (born 1918), and Bessie Ray Cohron Ward (born 1920).
After the death of her young husband at age 35, she and 13-year old Garland learned to build a life on their own in Frisco City, AL.
For a brief time, Lola relocated to Rochester, NY where she married Chuck Loth.
She later divorced and returned to her roots in the South, settling in Pensacola, FL where she lived on the same street as brother Curtis and sister Ruth and worked at J.C. Penney for approximately 17 years until she retired. For many years, until she could no longer drive, she was a faithful member of East Brent Baptist Church. Her Christian faith and her fond memories of family and “the old place” were endless sources of comfort for her.
Lola loved flowers and photographs. Her favorite color was pink. She was a talented seamstress. She loved traveling with her siblings, making trips to Oregon and Hawaii.
She was blessed with good health and “lived” history. Her life spanned from horse and buggy to modern space and air travel, from the Spanish influenza of 1918 to the Coronavirus pandemic of 2020, from World Wars I and II and the
Great Depression to current political times. She saw and lived a span of history gifted to very few.
She is survived by son, William G. Byrd and wife, Bobbie D. Byrd of Molino, FL; granddaughter, Selinda Byrd Smith and husband, Daniel L. Smith of West Linn, OR; grandson, Scott L. Byrd and wife, Tobbe Bush Byrd of Gulf Breeze, FL; great-grandchildren, Ryan L. Smith of Charleston, SC and Lauren E. Smith of Wilsonville, OR, as well as many nieces and one nephew.

Mr. Robert “Gene” Tyree, age 64, passed away on Friday, April 24, 2020, in Mobile, Alabama.
Mr. Tyree was a native and former resident of Atmore, AL and had resided in Flomaton, AL for the past 15 years. He was a retired truck driver and was of the Baptist faith. He is preceded in death by his parents, Vernie “Snoots” and Bobbie Eloise Tyree and brother, Shorty Tyree.
He is survived by his wife of 28 years, Patsy “Pat” Tyree of Flomaton, AL; three sons, Robert Brandon (Rebecca) Tyree of McHenry, MS, Eddie L. (Marie) Peek of Flomaton, AL and Robert “Bobby” Peek of Canton, GA; three daughters, Kristy Lynn (Shane) Osborne of McHenry, MS, Jessica Riley Tyree of Flomaton, AL and Tammy Jernigan of Flomaton, AL; two sisters, Annice (Don) Atwell of Dothan, AL and Pam (Billy) Ridlehoover of Dothan, AL; 12 grandchildren, Auston, Ashlyn, Waylon, Aubrey, Robby, Olivia, Samantha, Jamie, Jessica, Caitlan, Jacob and Gracie and 10 great-grandchildren.
Graveside services were held Sunday, April 26, 2020, at the McCullough Cemetery with Richard Daniels officiating.

Mr. Hillary Keith Nelson, age 63 of Jay, FL, passed away on Monday, April 13, 2020, in a Pensacola health care facility.
Mr. Nelson was born in Pensacola, FL, and had been a resident of Jay since the early 1980’s coming from Century, FL. He enjoyed playing basketball, coaching young people, and being with his family and friends. He loved his grandchildren. He was of the Assembly of God faith, a member of Beulah Chapel, and was preceded in death by his parents, Aubrey J. and Juanita Taylor Nelson, and brother, James Aubrey Nelson.
He is survived by sons, Jake Nelson and Riley Nelson, both of Jay, FL; sister, Linda Nelson Lee of Jay, FL; grandchildren, Noah Nelson, Aubreigh Nelson and Emmylou Nelson.
Graveside services were held on Thursday, April 16, 2020, at Cora Cemetery with Larry Pierson officiating.

She loved reading her Bible and working in the church. She enjoyed working in her garden and listening to God’s song birds.

Graveside services were held on Monday, April 20, 2020, at Mize-Wadkins Cemetery with Rev. Glenn Johnson and Rev. James C. Johnson, Sr. officiating.

Mrs. Suzanne Ruth McGee, age 71, passed away on Friday, April 17, 2020, at her home in Atmore, Alabama.
Mrs. McGee was a native of Corsicana, TX, former resident of Sunset, TX and had resided in Atmore, AL for the past 12 years. She served as a House Parent for mentally and physically challenged adults and was a member of the Robinsonville Baptist Church. She is preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, William Thomas “Skip” McGee, Jr. and parents, Romeny and Betty Ruth Hammock.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, William O. “Billy Bob” (Alyssia) Mcgee of Atmore, AL; two granddaughters, Cheyenne McGee of Robinsonville, AL and Shawnee McGee of Atmore, AL and one sister, Sandra (Ed) Ellis of Ferriday, LA.
Graveside services were held Tuesday, April 21, 2020, at the Judson Indian Cemetery with Rev. Phil Johnson officiating.

Mr. John David Godfrey, Sr., age 61 of Jay, FL, passed away on Tuesday, April 14,2020 in a Pensacola healthcare facility.
Mr. Godfrey was born in Century, FL, and during his working years he worked as a supervisor in the oilfield industry. He was of the Protestant faith and was preceded in death by his mother, Muriel Godfrey.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Theresa Godfrey of Jay, FL; father, Richard Godfrey of Jay, FL; sons, J.D. Godfrey, Eric Godfrey, Bo Godfrey and Matthew Godfrey; daughter, Brandy Godfrey of Louisiana; brothers, Christopher Godfrey and Richard Godfrey, Jr, both of California, and two grandchildren.
There will be no formal services for Mr. Godfrey.

Mr. Patrick DuWayne Hadley, II, age 26, passed away Monday, April 13, 2020 in Laurel, Mississippi.
Mr. Hadley was a native and lifelong resident of Bay Minette, AL. He was a 2013 graduate of Baldwin County High School, where he played football. He was employed with Southern Land Service as a tree surgeon and was a firefighter serving the Semmes, AL Fire Department.
He is survived by his father, Patrick Duwayne Hadley of Foley, AL; mother, Dorothy Jean (Chris) Stacey of Rabun, AL; wife, Codie L. Hadley of Bay Minette, AL; mother of his children, Courtney Bryars of Bay Minette, AL; mother by love, Christia Crawford of Bay Minette, AL; one son, Bryson Cooper of Bay Minette, AL; one daughter, Karla Hadley of Bay Minette, AL; two brothers, Preston Hadley of Birmingham, AL and Brandon Burkett of Rabun, AL; three sisters, Brianna Burkett of Rabun, AL, Michelle (Matthew) McCary of Bay Minette, AL and Charity Hadley (Gary, Jr.) Wise of Bay Minette, AL; aunt and uncle, James (Maria) White of Bay Minette, AL and numerous other aunts, uncles, other relatives and many other family and friends.
