Curtis Arthur Smith, age 94, of Century, FL passed away on February 23, 2021. He was
born on April 21, 1926 in Bluff Springs, FL to the late Zell Berry and Lillie Cooper Smith.
He served in the United States Army during World War II and as the Constable of the
Escambia County Sheriff’s Department for many years.
He is preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Edna Luverne “Sis” Smith; his brothers,
Jack Smith, Walter Smith, Winegair Smith, James Smith and Charles Smith.
He is survived by his son, Curtis Edward Smith of Byrneville, FL; his sister, Susie Smith
Bell of Byrneville, FL; his grandchildren, Brandon (Deadria) Smith and Rachael Smith
(David Spicer); his great grandchildren, Julianna, Samantha, Dalton, Brayden, Weston
and Lilah-May and numerous nieces, nephews, family and friends.
Funeral service will be held Thursday, February 25, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at
Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Mitch Herring officiating. Interment
will follow at Beulah Chapel Assembly of God Cemetery in Byrneville, FL.
Active pallbearers will be Gerald Bell, Brandon Smith, Jackie Brown, Charlie Brown, Bob
Turk and David Smith.
Honorary pallbearers will be Brayden Smith, Dalton Smith and Lon Malone.
Visitation will be Thursday, February 25, 2021 from 10:00 a.m. until service time at 11:00
a.m. at Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home.

Maggie Izola Baker Henry Watson

In the dark and quiet hours of Monday morning, February 22, 2021, Maggie Izola Baker Henry Watson left the bonds of her earthly body and ascended to her heavenly home.
Maggie was 91 years of age at the time of her home-going. She was a woman of great strength and courage who loved the Lord with all her heart. She worked hard for her family and loved them all. She was also a great cook and could make a “mean” pound cake. She was taught to love the Lord as a child by her father and mother; Rev. & Mrs. Olin L. Baker.
She was preceded in death by husbands, Archie Henry and James Hugh Watson; sons, Kenneth Richard Henry and James Olin Watson; brothers, James, Dan and Terry Baker; and sisters, Voncile Pittman and Estelle Moore.
She leaves to cherish her memory; daughter, Diane (Ronnie) Cotton; sons, Dan (Michelle) Henry and Michael Watson; grand-daughters, Tracy (David) Arner and Erica (Clif) Colley, Alexandria (Danny) Martin, and Brittanie Watson Banks; grandsons, Jason (Rebecca) Cotton, Eric Henry, Clint Henry, and Lance Stinson; great grandchildren, Jeffrey, Jarrod, Anna, Haley, Leo, Shane, Cooper, and Breyannah; brothers, David and Bobby; and many nieces and nephews, as well as, her fur baby, Annie.
Many thanks to all the personnel at Sandy Ridge Health & Rehabilitation who made our Mother’s last months more comfortable by their care and love.

Mr. Charles Edward ‘Sonny’ Fore, age 92 of Flomaton, AL, passed away on Saturday, February 20, 2021 at his home.
Mr. Fore was born in Flomaton and was a life long member of the Flomaton and Century areas where he owned and operated Fore Sand and Gravel and Fore Dixie Development Company. He loved his grandchildren, great-grandchildren, fishing, horses, and thoroughly enjoyed cutting the grass. Mr. Fore attended Flomaton Church of Christ, and was preceded in death by his parents, Charles Richard and Edna White Fore; sister, Francis Scott; daughter-in-law, Cheryl Fore and two great-grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife, Louise Fore of Flomaton, AL; son, Darryl Fore of Flomaton, AL; daughter, Sharon (James) Pate of Flomaton, AL; four grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 24, 2021 at Flomaton Funeral Home Chapel from 9 AM until10 AM.

Ruby Thomas McGlothren

Ruby Thomas McGlothren, age 86, died on February 19, 2021, in Pensacola, Florida, surrounded by her loving family.
Ruby is survived by her son, Larry Thomas (Pam) and daughter, Lynn Hodge (Jackie); grandchildren, Derek Hodge, Amanda Capitell (Al), and Lauren Thomas; great grandchild, Hadley Capitell; brothers, Carl and Charles Darby; and many other family members.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Eubie and Birdie Darby; husbands, Rufus Thomas and Ted McGlothren; brothers, James Darby, Leo Darby, and sister, Nell Cumbie.
Ruby was born on November 5, 1934 in Eliska, Alabama, to parents Eubie and Birdie Darby. She was a member of the Poarch Creek Indian Tribe. Ruby was a great family woman and a loving mother, sister and Nana. Ruby was a God fearing, strong willed woman who lived for her family. She retired from the Medical Center Clinic after many years.
A visitation is scheduled for Thursday, February 25, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. with the funeral to follow at 11:00 a.m., at Victory Assembly of God in Molino, Florida; Reverend Jeff McKee will be officiating. The family would like to thank Alice Hall for her love and kindness, countless employees of The Blake, including Dyan, Laureine, Lisa, Patricia, Nancy, Shakiyah, Kenny, Deneen, and many more. A special thanks to Adam, Phillip, Chaplain Jason Adams, and Sheila with Emerald Coast Hospice. There have been so many people who Nana loved and touched and we thank all of them. Aubrey Stanley, age 85, passed away on Friday, February 12, 2021. He was born on July
16, 1935 in Atmore, AL to the late Henry Watterson and Ruby Bell Stanley. He was a
member of First Assembly of God Church in Atmore, AL. He was a Vietnam Veteran who
served in the United States Air Force for twelve years. He retired after twenty three years
with the Civil Service as Assistant Fire Chief serving at Saufley Field, Pensacola Naval Air
Station and Subic Bay, Philippines where he was Crash Leader over the air field units. He
was Commander for seven years with Billy Glenn Rushing Post 90 of the American Legion.
He is preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Gertrude Childress and his brother, Cecil
Stanley.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Mary Hawkinson Stanley; his sons, Steven Aubrey
(Kim) Stanley of Pensacola, FL and Christopher Watterson (Bridget) Stanley of Silver Hill,
AL; his daughter, Leigh Ann Wooten of Thousand Oaks, CA; his brothers, Leonard
Stanley of Atmore, AL and Windom Stanley of Spanish Fort, AL; six grandchildren and
seven great grandchildren.
Funeral service will be held Thursday, February 18, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at First Assembly
of God Church in Atmore, AL with Bro. Don Davis officiating. Interment will be at
Alabama State Veterans Memorial Cemetery with Military Honors in Spanish Fort, AL at
a later date.

Albritton, Rick Hetrick and Donald Ray Weaver.

Mr. Johnnie William Taylor affectionately known as Billy, surrounded by his family,
passed this world and into the next on February 14, 2021. Johnnie was born on January 3,
1944 in Atmore, AL and spent his life working and building his business and family there.
He is preceded in death by his father, James E. Taylor; his mother, Rosa Harrison Taylor;
his brother, Homer Taylor and his sisters, Dorothy Taylor Godwin and Callie Taylor
Irwin.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Norma McCall Taylor of Atmore, AL; their two
children, Lynn Taylor Winters (John) of Monroeville, AL and Suzanne Taylor of Auburn,
AL; their two granddaughters, Mary Taylor Winters and Lucinda Ruth Johnson who were
the lights of his life; his sister, Doris (Sue) Gohagin of Atmore, AL along with a multitude
of nieces, nephews, beloved family members and friends.
Graveside service will be held Friday, February 19, 2021 at 2:30 p.m. at Oak Hill Cemetery
in Atmore, AL with a close family friend, Joseph (JJ) Jones speaking.

Hollis Ivan McKinley, age 77, passed away on February 9, 2021. He was born on March 3, 1943 in Atmore, AL to the late George W. and Mamie Louise Cunningham McKinley. He was a retired Master Gunnery Sergeant of the United States Marine Corps and a retired Millrite with Swift Lumber Company.
He is preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Jeanette McWhoter.
He is survived by his children, Rhonda McKinley Thomas of Pensacola, FL, Rex (Cindy) McKinley of Atmore, AL and Roxanne McKinley of Flomaton, AL; his step-sons, John Skipper of Atmore, AL and Matthew Skipper of Richmond, VA and his sisters, Linda (Bill) Pinto of Marietta, GA and Carolyn (Art) Austin of Dothan, AL and nine grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
No formal services will be held.

Roy F. “Frank” Willis, Jr. died Monday, February 15, 2021 at home.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Roy F. Willis and Essie Porter Willis; son, Jeff Willis; and brother, Larry Willis.
Frank is survived by his high school sweetheart and wife of 55 years, Linda; grandchildren, Taylor Willis and Lane Willis; and sister, Connie Roper.
Frank was in the automobile business for several years. He was the owner and operator of Willis Auto Sales in Pensacola and Bay Minette, AL.
Pallbearers will be Robert Mitchell, Tex Sinon, Lane Willis, Brent Roberts, Dudley Herrington, and Brent Cravey.
Funeral services will be held at 1PM on Friday, February 19, 2021 at Faith Chapel Funeral Home North with Pastor William Chancery officiating. Burial will follow in Pensacola Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends from 5PM to 7PM on Thursday, February 18, 2021 at the funeral home.
