Jamey Jess Kahalley

August 27, 2021

Jamey Jess Kahalley passed away on August 25, 2025 at the age of 62.

He preceded in death by his father Eugene Kahalley and his sister Brenda Kahalley. Jamey is survived by his mother Patricia (Morgan) Powell, his brother David Mears, his wife Brenda (Baker) Kahalley, son Sean Kahalley and Rachel Kahalley and daughter Jamie Lea Jester and Stephen Jester. His grandsons were his greatest joy, Ryan Kahalley, Nicholas Kahalley, Gavin Jester, Brandon Jester and Wyatt Jester.

Jamey was active in his children’s sports with coaching at Don Sutton Ball Park for many years at all levels. He coached football when they played for the Cantonment Cowboys and Ensley Chiefs. After retiring from coaching you could find him umpiring games all around the county. He supported Tate Wrestling with his son and Northview Girls Softball and Volleyball with his daughter.

Jamey was a lifelong resident of Molino Florida, graduating from Tate High School Class of 1976. He worked a variety of jobs before he found his calling in law enforcement. He began his career with Milton Police Department for two years and moved to Santa Rosa Sheriff’s Office in 1999. Sgt. Jamey Kahalley was known for this years as a FTO and his commitment to helping junior officers become deputies. He took great pride in this work and was committed to the citizens of Santa Rosa County. He received multiple Citations of Merit and Deputy of the Quarter in 2014 and 2016. He received the Life Saving Award in May 2007. Jamey retired in 2019 he was a trustee for the Fraternal Order of Police (FOP) and embraced the country life with big toys and grand plans.

Visitation and a celebration of life will be held Tuesday, August 31 from 5-7 p.m. at Faith Chapel North.

Deborah Carolyn Jackson

August 27, 2021

Mrs. Deborah Carolyn Jackson age 57, passed away on Tuesday, August 24, 2021 in Atmore, AL. She was a lifelong resident of Atmore, AL. and a member of the United Methodist Church of Atmore. She worked with the Poarch Band of Creek Indians for several years.

Mrs. Jackson loved her kids and grandchildren. She was an avid Alabama Football Fan. She loved to travel with her husband, but enjoyed going to the casinos with her mom. She would do anything for her kids and her mother. She was raised up by a wonderful man that she considered to be dad, Runt Bryant. Along the road, she met Ronnie, the love of her life and that was the best thing that had ever happened, she loved him dearly.

She is preceded in death by her father, Eubie W. Davis and one brother, Joey Davis.

She is survived by her mother, Mrs. Olivia Bryant (Runt) of Atmore, AL; her loving husband of twenty plus years, Ronnie Ray Jackson of Atmore, AL; two sons, Randon Watson (Sarah) of McDavid, FL; William Cook, of Walnut Hill, FL; one step- son, Scott Jackson (Tammy) of Wetumpka, AL: two daughters, Sharley Cook (Trent) of Atmore, AL; Nioma Till (Shawn) of Excel, AL; twelve grandchildren, Raycer Waston, Landon Watson, William Watson, Crimson Cook, Arabella Cook, Elianna Cook, Koby Styron, Braxton Styron, Brantlee Till, Gabe Till, Haylee Jackson, Dalton Jackson, many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held Monday August 30, 2021 at 11:00 AM at Petty- Eastside Chapel Funeral Home LLC. with Rev. Ray Ward officiating.

Burial will follow at Judson Creek Indian Cemetery.

Visitation will be held Sunday, August 29, 2021 from 6 PM until 8:00 PM at Petty- Eastside Chapel Funeral Home LLC.

Carol Levane Vickrey

Carol Levane Vickrey, was born on November 18,1940 in Atmore Alabama. She passed on August 27, 2021 in Pensacola, Florida. She was married to her husband, Lawrence for 53 years. And she was a long-time member of Highland Baptist Church.

Carol is preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence F. Vickrey; mother, Estelle Parmer Reynolds; father, William Ollie Parmer.

She is survived by her daughter, Carol (Earl) Rodgers; son, Kevin (Suzanne) Vickrey; brothers, Gerald (Patty) Parmer and Olen Parmer; grandson’s, Hunter L. Vickrey and Michael (Kendall) Sanderson; granddaughter, Amanda (Keka) Sanderson.

Visitation will be held at Highland Baptist Church on Tuesday, August 31, 2021 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM. The Service will follow immediately after at 2:00 PM.

Pallbearers will be Brannon Parmer, Randy McCauley, Hunter Vickrey, Damien Sanderson, Michael Sanderson, and Paxton Hobbs.

Donna Belinda Fillmore

August 26, 2021

Mrs. Donna Belinda Fillmore, age 71, passed away Monday, August 23, 2021 in a Pensacola hospital.

Mrs. Fillmore was born in Atmore, AL and had been a life-long resident of Escambia County, AL. She retired as a dispatcher with the Flomaton Police Department. Her greatest joy in life was spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She was of the Baptist faith.

Mrs. Fillmore was preceded in death by her parents, William Petty and Nell Petty.

She is survived by two sons, Greg (Tracey) Fillmore and Kevin (Rachael) Fillmore, all of Barnett Crossroads, AL; a daughter, Tracey (Alan) Harp of Atmore, AL; seven grandchildren, Jessica Fillmore, Hannah Fillmore, Andrew (Mercy) Harp, Cameron (Chloe) Harp, Olivia Harp, Weston Fillmore, Raeleigh Fillmore; and great-grandchildren, Tucker Fillmore, Shepherd Fillmore, Isaac Harp and baby Harp due in April 2022.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 28, 2021 at 11:00 A.M. from the chapel of Flomaton Funeral Home with Bro. Alan Harp officiating. Interment will follow in Rays Chapel Cemetery.

Visitation will be held at Flomaton Funeral Home on Saturday from 10:30 A.M. until service time at 11:00 A.M.

Mildred “Pansy” Kersey

Mildred “Pansy” Kersey was born on November 29, 1933 in Grenada, MS. She spent the majority of her life in Pensacola, FL. She passed away on August 20, 2021 at home in Molino, FL.
Pansy was a loving wife, daughter, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and aunt. She was proud to be an “old country girl”. She wore many hats, excelling at them all, but none more than that of loving and caring for her family and others. We love you and miss you, Momma.

Pansy was preceded in death by her husband, William Kersey, Sr.; father, Troy Barnes; mother, Myrtle Barnes; son, William Kersey, Jr.; grandson, Bryce Andress; granddaughter, Clarissa Andress; brother, Buford Barnes; and sister, Kathleen Tyler.

She is survived by her daughter, Teresa Kersey Andress (Joe); son, Ivy Cole; daughter, Linda Cole Kanov (Jeff); daughter, Elizabeth Kersey Bell; daughter, Katherine Cole; 17 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.

William McBroom

August 26, 2021

William McBroom was born on May 8, 1930 in Mobile, Alabama, the son of Grace and Claude H. Mc Broom.  He departed this life and entered his heavenly home with Jesus; his savior, on Monday, August 23, 2021.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Grace and Claude, as well as his brother John McBroom and his sister Patricia Russell.
William proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps. Upon his Honorable discharge from the Marines, he met and married the love of his life Harriet, forming a bond in marriage that lasted for more than 67 amazing years. Together they have a son, Bill (Therese) and a daughter,  Angela Powell (John).
He was “Papa” to his beloved Grandchildren April, Christian, and Carmen and to his Great Grandchildren Alyssa and Arianna.
Visitation will be held 10:30 to 11:30 at Faith Chapel Funeral Home, North. Services to follow.
Burial will be at Pensacola Memorial Gardens, Pine Forrest Road and will be officiated by Rev. Virgil Tillman.
Pallbearers will be Nephews.

Marvel Leticia Keith

Marvel Leticia Keith passed away on August 21, 2021 in Pensacola, Florida.

She was born on May 19, 1961 in Aligandi, San Blas, Panama to Blas Martinez and Griselda Perez.

Marvel enjoyed gardening, flowering, and bird watching. She was definitely an outdoors person! She also enjoyed sewing and making molas. Marvel loved life to the fullest, especially when it came to her grandkids. She was a Believer in the Lord Jesus Christ and was always reading her Bible.

She was preceded in death by her father, Blas Martinez.

Marvel was survived by her husband, Barry Keith; daughters, Starlena (Richard) Williams and Delilah (Kelly) Clements; son, Kimpler (Sparkle) Keith; granddaughter, Eliannia Keith; grandsons, Malachi Williams, Gabriel Williams, Matthew Keith-Harrison, Jadeyn Keith, Skyline Clements, Kameron Clements, Kelly Clements, and Civic Clements; mother, Griselda Perez; sisters, Griselinda Martinez, Zelaida Martinez, Nilda Martinez, and Mileika Martinez; and brothers, Blas Martinez, Carlos Martinez, Kimpler Martinez, and Roldano Martinez.

Funeral services will be announced at a later time.

Pallbearers are Barry, Uncle Leonard, Kimpler, Richard, Malachi, and Uncle Rocky.

Steven Allen Lashley

Mr. Steven Allen Lashley, age 63, passed away on Monday, August 23, 2021 in Century, FL.

Mr. Lashley was born in Buras, LA; and has resided most of his life in Century, FL. Mr. Lashley enjoyed the outdoors, spending time with family, and coaching Little League Ball. He loved to tell stories and he never met a stranger.

He is preceded in death by his father, Lonnie Lashley.

Mr. Lashley is survived by his mother, Ruby Lee Lashley, of Century, FL; one son, Stevie Lashley (Mindy) of Century, FL; one daughter, Misti LaSala (Paul) of Canoe, AL; one brother, Edwin Lashley, of Century, FL; one sister, Gaynell Bethea, of Century, FL; three grandchildren, Ansley Tillery (Jonah), Andrea LaSala, Aiden LaSala, other relatives and special friends.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, August 28,2021 at 2:00 PM at the Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home LLC with Rev. Chip Barbas officiating.

Burial will follow at Beulah Chapel Cemetery.

James Howard Shell

August 25, 2021

James Howard Shell, age 88, passed away August 21, 2021, in Spanish Fort, Alabama where he had been a resident of Westminster Village for the past four years. He was preceded in death by his wife of 69 years, Nannette Cobb Shell.

Howard was born in Excel, Alabama on October 31, 1932 to the late Edna Johnson Shell and Cary Ezekiel Shell. He grew up in Walnut Hill, Florida graduating from Ernest Ward High School before attending Florida State University. Due to the Korean War, he left FSU and joined the US Navy where he served aboard the USS Ault for four years. After his service years, he joined Monsanto where he worked in research and development for 30 years before retiring.

Howard served on the Atmore City Council for two years. He subsequently was elected mayor, serving for 22 years before retiring in 2012. Howard was a member of the Atmore First United Methodist Church, the Lions Club, American Legion Post #90 and was a 32nd degree Freemason.

Mr. Shell is survived by his children, Nancy Shell Fayard (Gary) of Atlanta, GA and
James Burton Shell (Kim) of Pawleys Island, SC as well as five grandchildren and
four great grandchildren.

Former Mayor Shell requested that his memorial service be postponed to a later date. He was concerned for the health of family, friends and citizens of Atmore due to the high rates of viral infection. Public notice will be given for date of service once determined.

James Edward Fausz

August 24, 2021

James Edward Fausz passed away Saturday, August 21, 2021, in Pensacola, FL. He was born January 25, 1939, in Ft. Wayne, IN. Jim joined the military in 1957, retiring in 1978, as a LCDR. He spent the first six years as an unlisted service member, followed by attending Officer Candidate School (OCS), receiving his commission. Followed by flight school training to earn his wings flying the Skyraiders. He served four tours in Vietnam, two as a sailor and two tours as an aviator. Last duty station NAS Pensacola, serving as the flight deck officer on the USS Lexington.

Jim’s love of aviation especially WWII Warbirds aircraft led him to his second career as a Warbird Museum director. First in Mesa, AZ, followed by Lone Star Flight Museum in Houston, TX.

He would tell you that he had a wonderful and interesting life. He and Ann had a great life, sharing 45 years before her passing in 2019. He was proud of his children, grandchildren and couldn’t believe he had five great grands.

James was preceded in death by his wife, Ann S. Fausz; father, Walter Fausz and mother, Letha Mae Fausz.

James is survived by his daughter, Lori Gilmore (Gary); daughter, Cindy Beard (Doug); stepson, O. Glynn Rocka; granddaughter, Ashleigh Jones (Jeremy); granddaughter, Katie Leslie (Jordan); great grandchildren, Haleigh Floyd, Evan Floyd, Aubreigh Floyd, Presleigh Jones and Connor Leslie.

Visitation will be Friday, August 27, 2021, from 10:30 to 11:30 AM, at Faith Chapel Funeral Home South. Funeral Service will follow at 11:30 AM. Rev. John Webb will be officiating. Interment will be at Bayview Memorial Park.

Pallbearers will be Ben Ballard, Bill Locker, Gary Gilmore, Doug Beard, CJ Beard and Jordan Leslie.
