Regardless of supposed usefulness, any tool that infringes on the rights of individual’s privacy is anathema to liberty. Simply tracking movement locations builds a profile available to unknown institutions that you don’t know exists in whose hands. This violates both your Forth and Fifth Constitutional Amendment guarantees. It is impossible to create acceptable “boundaries” for use of these Big Brother surveillance systems without trampling on individual rights.

I sure am glad these are being removed, We don’t need a surveillance or police state in this country and even less privacy. At the rate they were building and installing these I was half expecting one in front of every house in the near future. I just pray Axon cameras doesn’t wiggle there way in with there own cameras to take Flocks place. These cameras are a severe road hazard in most areas as well because they usually place them on flimsy polls in concrete close to the highway without using Breakaway poles or devices as per Florida Dot law.

I am very happy to see this gone. It was becoming an everyday theme where some wayward deputy was using it to stalk an ex GF or wife. Any deputy that abuses their position should absolutely have the book thrown at them. In a free society, a position of authority, leadership and trust demands complete and total accountability. And free people don’t need to be surveilled to remain free and safe.

It was a very useful tool when it was used for it’s intended purpose. Unfortunately the implementation of unlimited access at all levels of law enforcement ranks was just plain irresponsible. There are too many accounts of abuse to allow this to continue.

Again I blame admin at the highest levels for allowing unfeathered access to the system. Entry level officers were allowed “hot plate” entry alerts where the officer is notified personally when the tag they entered hits an LPR anywhere in the USA. This was unacceptable and was being abused all over the country.

Plain and simple, Police administration and supervision failed.
