This project started out so well...a lot of what appeared to be quality work was done in a short time...then it began to stall...and it seemed like they lost direction.

I've seen a lot of roads repaved in my life, but never like they've done from the train tracks to about Tate Road. Turned to road back into a dirt/gravel road, then paved on top, probably 8" higher than the other lane...crossing that lane was a challenge if in a low car. The heavy rains did not help. Did have workers stationed at neighborhoods letting you know which way you could go, on the single lane, then they vanished, for a time...

Hopefully, when they're done, it will be worth the disruption. Time will tell.

Bonnie, I also live in one of the first neighborhoods after you turn left from 29 onto West Roberts. I’ve been caught in the same situation, driving into oncoming traffic because no one is there to direct traffic. I do see a lot of people standing around trucks or sitting in them, but they’re no use to us residents. The other major safety concern is that when you turn left off of 29, you immediately hit a temporary traffic light. I’ve seen people from the turn lane stuck in the middle of the intersection, cars going around each other, cars and trucks having to drive into medians and ditches to not get hit. It is a very dangerous situation that they have created. I’ve reached out to the road dept, spoke specifically with an employee of CWR. The employee agreed it was dangerous but wasn’t allowed to make any changes. I’ve reached out to our county commissioner for assistance, but, surprise surprise, no response. I’ve seen the county involved in some sketchy road work, but this is past sketchy and into a situation where people can be seriously hurt or suffer a fatality due to their lack of planning. We won’t even get started on the fact that they can never finish a project anywhere near on time. I guess that would require a few more people to get out of the trucks and do some work.

This Road project Company should have to pay the ambulances and Fire Dept for their unmanned road construction they're messing up. We hear the sirens everyday. What a screwball job that OUR TAXES are paying.

Not only is this one of the worst managed and operated road projects as Rob mentioned above. It is abolutely an accident waiting to happen. The traffic management is virtually non existent. I live in one of the subdivisions off of West Robert towards Hwy. 29. There have been numerous times I have been going to or from my subdivision and have seen, and even been involved in, two way traffic coming head on towards each other with no human flagperson anywhere in sight.

The temporary traffic lights do not seem to work in coordination with each other. I hope C.W. Roberts, Inc. is not awarded any other construction projects for Escambia County.
