My number one bill is INSURANCE PREMIUMS, not taxes or interest or power bill. The latter bills are zilch in comparison to homeowner insurance costs.

Response by the Florida Legislature to insurance cost crisis for homeowners statewide: eh, uh. Nothing that I can identify.

Fully wind mitigated through Rebuild with discounts, including shutters. New roof with code enhancements. Not in flood zone. And those around me pay even more, with some neighbors forced to add on flood insurance, not even close to a flood zone or threat.

Along with real estate transaction fees and taxes, this is part of why housing is so expensive.
