These giants will dominate the market, eliminate competition, and quietly jack up prices or degrade quality. When a handful of corporate giants run the show, consumers get higher prices, and worse customer service. I am quite happy dealing with Spectrum and have done so for many years. I'm sure this merger will ultimately increase my rates which makes me very unhappy. Why do we allow monopolies? You do understand thousands of people have these services and people from both companies say its horrible service and/or expensive. You are less than 3% of their consumer base. Spectrum was the worst company for cable/internet we’d ever had. Combine the two and it’s a perfect recipe for failure. Now customers will pay even more for substandard performance and outages! While Cox wasn’t always perfect, my Cox service has always been better and cheaper than the Spectrum service my parents receive.
