My feelings are mutual to BL and KI. The bridge on Stefani Watershed spring fed water looks like hell. Instead of fixing it so it will flow properly the County bought and demolished a home that was flooding. What a stupid thing to do!!! Further, Mosquito Control is a useless bunch of “Know nothings”. These people are sitting around wasting the County’s money and the County is worried about the budget????

And the bridge over Bogia Road was washed away with a complete repair done in a couple of weeks.

I understand the West Roberts road project is larger but the amount and quality of work done to this point is horrendous.

This has been a total waste. The concrete gutters they installed from Highway 29 to the first bridge are installed so high that it has trapped all the water in the wooded areas and does not allow it drain. The water used to flow from the woods into the ditch and down to the creek at the bridge. Now, all those wooded areas are just marshy. You can’t even walk the trails anymore. The mosquitos have been as bad as ever in this area and the county refuses to spray. I quote “The trees are causing your mosquito problem, not the standing water.” That was from the county official who came out to inspect for mosquitoes. We were then told we don’t qualify for spraying or any remediation. This has been a disaster all around. Thank you for disrupting traffic and only making the problem worse. As far as not completing the job on time, I never expect the county to complete tasks in a timely manner.

I’ve been closely watching this project and cannot understand where the county oversight has been. I’ve watched as useless concrete gutters have been installed and re-installed. As the budget was likely stressed, the concrete gutters became grass gutters. The inconvenience of traffic delays on West Roberts Road does not compare to the nonsensical work being done. I predict this project will go well into 2027. Commissioner Barry needs to step up, investigate this project and put it on track as best he can. This is shameful.

It should have gone to Roads Inc. They’re a lot cleaner and they know what they’re doing. Roads Inc did our road several years ago and they all were very professional, and didn’t act like this rowdy crew on W. Roberts. I was afraid it would take much longer when Roberts got that contract. Don’t expect it to be do by fall 2026. They’re not that good.
