I would assume every business owner on Palafox, and throughout the city, was in the Mayor’s and Police Chief’s offices Monday morning. Public safety has to be the highest priority.

Personally I do not agree with curfews. I do not give consent to anyone to limit my rights to movement or congregation. What needs to be done is accountability needs to be upheld. You do wrong, you pay the price. You do right, you pay the price. People need to stop worrying about being labeled and start punishing bad actors.

@Mike. Per the other NE article on this incident.
“He said a crowd of unaccompanied young people had gathered in the area following the downtown fireworks.
“Kids as young as middle school I saw out there,” Winstrom said, “by themselves engaging in some frightening behavior.” He said five arrests were made earlier in the evening for offenses that included disorderly conduct and throwing fireworks at people. One had a firearm in his waistband.”

to: Luigi. Two persons arrested are 25 and 26 years old. What curfew, what patents supervision, what unsupervised children etc.??? These are ADULT people, and they and only they are responsible for their actions. Or do you want to impose curfew for all? Tell ALL ADULT Americans to stay home after 10 PM or get arrested? Is this the Country of Freedom?

Curfew needs to go in effect immediately . Parents need to be held accountable for curfew violations too . We used to have season tickets for many events and venues downtown, with the horrible parking , teen takeovers , unsupervised children and the fatigue decided not renew most of it . The city , community need to place changes now or another great city Pensacola is going to become just another place not to go to like New York , la , San Francisco, Seattle, Daytona , Miami and many others that have fallen under liberal leadership , cultural fatigue and complete disregard for the rule of law and community values .
