Serial Killers like Jeffrey Dahlmer often start off with killing domestic animals. This mentally ill person needs to be where he can get help like Chatahoochee. Help that will keep him away from other people! He’s not going to get help in prison. These people who allowed him to live in their home need to be alerted when he is free again.

Was this a misdemeanor or a felony?

I have seen people get less time than this for killing/hurting a human being.

Usually, these kind of people have been hurting animals at a young age and can easily move to hurting humans.

Anyone who can to torture a small animal to death is never going to be safe free.
We need to bring back incarcerated mental health institutions. A place for those with no self control with lots of independent oversight.

If someone claims insanity then they should serve the time for the crime in an institution for treatment not released as we frequently do. After that once “cured” serve what is left in regular prison.

And could we stop stacking prison sentences! If the person commits multiple crimes that each have their own time in jail then why are we not making them consecutive? If they get time for an offense they should serve time for every one of those not stack them up. I saw a court case where the guy had a 10 year, 4 5 year, and a 3 year term for attacks on a teen age girl. What did he get? Not 33 years just the 10. Why? If he was sentenced for any of the 5 years on its own he would have served the 5 but does not have to because one sentence is longer? There is no justice in that.

Next Jeffrey Dahmer right there. If you can’t see the red flags you’re blind! 5 years minus good time to get conditioned by our ‘corrections’ system and it’ll be your daughter maybe next time. Too sad. World gone to Hell!
