Property values are already bad and now you are going to do this for all the crackheads in the area? Focus on cleaning up the town and fix all of the other issues first before you allow all of this crap for the crackheads.

The proposal for accessory dwelling units sounds reasonable.

I would suggest there be discussion about:

1. Parking of vehicles for tenants of the ADUs (location, adequate space, on street issues, etc)

2. Who reviews the site plan and enforces the footprint design and ordinance? (County building inspection? Emerald Coast Regional Council? Century itself?)

3. Who enforces code for violations (unpermitted violations) and what are the penalties?

4. Since new construction will be, well, new, what would prevent a homeowner abandoning an existing structure and simply moving in to the new ADU, thus leaving a vacant and abandoned structure (the original structure) as an eyesore and blight?

Do we not have enough trash in the town already? I mean it is one thing if it is kept up but lets be honest--most in Century do NOT keep up their homes or yards.
