I was in the militsry and worked 15 years in budget.We were taught to increase our operating budget request by 25 %.In the months of August and September we would notify a units to spend every dime they had.We NEVER returned any money we spent it all.One year we had about 15 million in budget left and spent it all in the month of September.It’s still in use today.

Smart, dedicated folks figure how to Lead, Plan, & Overcome. I’m at Retired Fire/Rescue Lt. At times, it is Ridiculously Challenging job.

We have Local Leaders (City Council/Board of Commissioners) who are now facing a new challenge. Yes, they have a lot of responsibility placed on them for all the citizens/visitors in Escambia County, which they willingly elected to pursue.

It’s time for our Leaders to step up and perform as the first sentence states…read these comments, brainstorming sessions, line item budget reviews for every department, eliminate some old ways of doing things, ask for suggestions from other counties. There are hundreds of thousands of people dependent on our local leaders. I’m asking those Leaders to canx their summer vacations, stay home, work longer hours & simply figure out!!

Maybe the government should work on a budget like all us seniors have to do. All of us have had to cut back and make do with less as prices climb…It’s time for all the big salary players have to do the same. Time for them to learn money doesn’t grow on trees or in the pockets of taxpayers!!!!

Bolony and cheese . Time for the county leaders to cut their spending and for the leaders to get limited access from the piggy bank . The propaganda has started so that they can continue spending at their discretion without state oversight .
