Some situations are temporary, others ongoing. ECUA has a program called Escambia Utilities Assistance program, or EUAP. It is run by the Council on Aging and Salvation Army. Customers voluntarily donate bucks on their utility bill, and those in need get assistance to meet the bill. It’s better than having utilities turned off. Century might check on how this is administered and see if this idea might provide the help needed locally in their utility service area. My water usage was lower than last month and gas also, but my bill is higher than the usage from last month. I didn't ask for a garbage can that I can't use. Nor did I ask for a 40.00 extra 40.00 a month on my bill. 1 garbage can and 1 tree and yard is crazy. 1 doesn't get used, but even if they take it back you still have to pay for it. They refuse to exchange it for a household trash can. If you want another household can you will be charged a extra 10.00 a month. Town of Century is killing its own town because of greedy. They are trying to kill Century by knowing that we have no choice but to have to with the town. Its insane how much people are struggling and that the town doesn't even care about the elderly and disabled people who live on a budget. They just drive by now so how does that make it go so high. Most of my neighbors didn't get a new water meter and for the trash cans. They give you a can for limbs and knowing that we burn. We are not going to use the grey top,but I am not letting them take it back because I tried to get another blue top and was told no. But I bet the people who work in the offices don't have to pay as much as the residents do. They did not replace every single water meter.
