Prior to this increase, you were getting an amazing (and unsustainable) bargain rate. Keep in mind the ever rising costs associated with utilities. Labor, pipes, pumps, electricity, chlorination and wastewater treatment chemicals, lift station, solids removal, paint on water towers, emergency and routine repairs, line burial, lab testing. There is a lot to it. As a long time ECUA customer, I can tell Century customers that the new rates set by the Town are in line with standard rates elsewhere. Prior to this increase, you were getting an amazing (and unsustainable) bargain rate.
