Well, if he doesn’t work out, it will make the Mayor look worse since this will be the second Chief that didn’t work out. I’ll pray for him and hope he fits in well though. I have some doubts as I did a bit of “googling” myself.

A quick google search and you have a new chief that does not want to assist Immigration and Customs.

“The Grand Rapids Police Department is not in the business of immigration enforcement, period,” GRPD Chief Eric Winstrom said during a City Commission Retreat.”.

We’re going to be doing our job and were not going to be doing their job for them,” Winstrom said.

Pensacola needs a new mayor now more than ever! I feel terrible for the dedicated officers of the PPD. If you are told to not assist our federal law enforcement officers please report this to the governors office!

We need fresh leadership, but as every Police Chief knows, they’re the Mayors puppet. I’m hopeful for fresh ideas

His brief tenure in Grand Rapids improved the vacancies throughout the department but received scrutiny over his ” Comply now, Complain Later ” approach to law enforcement interaction. Maybe he’ll find a more welcoming environment with the PPD.

I believe that there was someone in Pensacola or escambia county at least that was qualified for this job we don’t have to go all the way to Michigan to find somebody to drag in here
