I go to ATM weekly for cash & pay cash for food, restaurants & local shops. I don't like paying credit card fees of 3.5%. For repair people I pay by check.

it is not that the stores are keeping your credit info..it is the point of sale that keeps your information on file.Seminole Serendipity uses
SQUARE to process credit and debit cards..I can go back months..maybe years and look at a transaction..I can issue a new receipt..I can issue a gift receipt,,I can issue a refund...What I can't do is add any other charges to the card..those charges are added before the charge is totaled out ..plain and simple..someone added charges because they kept the card information..not hard to do..take a picture when the card is in their possession,,front and back...Don't let anyone tell you it is the credit card processors fault...it is deliberate human scamming..scammers are getting smarter all the time..you can lock your card after every transaction..then unlock it when you need to..which is a pain..Someone can walk by you with a skimmer and steal your information..always report unknown charges on your card to law enforcement..check your credit card statements..its usually little charges that don't get our attention but could be theft just the same..someone was pretty brazen to start off with a 200.00 charge..

If a restaurant charges your card weeks after a visit, it is likely a fraudulent tip addition or a "delayed batching" scam. Immediately contact your card issuer to dispute the charge as fraud, as banks generally favor consumers in these disputes. Request a new card,

Pedro’s in pace something very similar. They blamed it on the credit card company. If you check I believe Pedro’s, El Paso and Vallarta’s is owned by the same people

This happened a while back at a Mexican restaurant in Pace. Credit cards were charge for “tips”. The managers said the charges were not posted by staff at the time and they were just “fixing” the error. As above commented, how are they keeping your credit cards info?.

I don’t understand how people so freely use their debit cards any and every where. Why would anyone want their debit card information; which is connected to their bank account; accessed by so many places? At the end of the day, you really don’t know what they do with your information. I’m old school, I still use cash every where because I don’t want my information out there like that; and if a place doesn’t accept cash, then I just don’t frequent that business. And if I need to order something online, I keep a card that’s not tied to my bank account for that. With all the scamming going on today, people should be more diligent about keeping their finances safe. One trip to the ATM is much safer than handing over your card any and every where.
