Wow.. all these comments about closing the schools due to cold weather.. kids up north go in this weather.. bundle the kids up and send them.. yes it isnt normal for us here in florida but get over it.. as all of yall will be griping if they got to stay home and then have to make it up at end of year..

Just woke up to gusts of wind blowing on top of the freezing weather , Truly don’t understand why the the kids should go to school today. This can cause a child getting sick and if not sick definitely catching pneumonia. You can even hear the tree’s blowing outside, I’m extremely concerned.

Seriously , to the people commenting and anyone reading, if you have school children , and are shocked schools aren’t canceled, but think they should be. Just keep your children out of school for the day. It blows my mind that you leave what is deemed best for your family up to a bunch of strangers. Then go online to complain about it. Keep the children home for the day. When they see attendance down 45 percent for the day the stooges will remember and take it into future decision making, and you will help teach your children the valuable lesson of family first, family decides what’s best for family. Not random school board officials that no one has ever met. Or ever will.

Schools need to be closed. This is ridiculous to send kids to school in these kind of weather conditions. It is going to be freezing cold, windchills below freezing while we are already dealing with an abundance of Flu, Covid and viral colds. Escambia close the schools.

Hey escambia county, please cancel the schools, I have multiple children who don’t ride the bus in the mornings because I can provide transportation but in this climate that most Floridians aren’t use too, it’s to risky for not only the bus driver but the kids and staff who have to show up. Please cancel school, the roads are dangerous and we can’t put these childrens safety at risk. Thank you

I believe school should be canceled in escambia County pensacola, it is highly dangerous for the bus drivers to be driving on icy roads with a bus full of kids. These SBOs were not taught how to drive on ice because icy roads arent expected in Florida usually. This is mad dangerous, unsafe, all the above. Escambia County school board do better.
