On my way home yesterday around 5p I saw a dark color colored truck turning left onto 10 mile road from the south bound hwy 29 with what appeared to have some blue lights in the upper grill. The traffic was horrible but the truck made the turn. Once the truck turned onto 10 mile road, the traffic was backed up from 95A and parked behind a marked deputy sheriff vehicle. When the traffic started moving I noticed the dark colored truck didn’t have those lights on anymore. Weird!!!

The best way to know If its the real police pulling you over you over is when it get to the point that they’re gonna search your car they gonna have plenty of company with them. It’s like the comedian said. ” I don’t know how many they need but how many they about to use. Lol”

“voices” there is very little enforcement anymore due to low staffing. Just look at all the illegal “carolina squat” trucks and the many cars that have limo tint and even tint their front windshield which is 100% illegal. As far as lights I see people running solid blue lights on their cars and motorcycles which is again 100% illegal. Unfortunately there are less Troopers on the road now than there were 25 years ago even though the registered vehicles on our roads have nearly tripled. Be safe and drive defensively.

A real LEO will have 10 to 20 lights flashing everywhere. Not 2 little blue lights on a dash.

We saw a black or very dark car, with two bright, solid (non-flashing) blue lights, situated about a foot or 18 inches apart on its dash, pass us going in the opposite direction a couple of nights ago. We see people with blue fog lights or headlights occasionally, but these were the first I’d seen on the dash. We both saw it, and I remember saying to my wife that that was no cop, and that I know that is illegal. Be careful out there, folks, especially the ladies. This behavior usually escalates, particularly if this guy feels that stop was a success and that he’s gotten away with it.

With so many different police cars/trucks..Who knows if being stopped is legit or not…also with the shadow writing to mark the cars you just don’t know..
I know being incognito is a huge help in law enforcement..but does it help public service

I won’t stop on any dark road. Drive slowly to a well-lit place with people nearby like a party store. This has never caused me a problem.

@Voices How do you know those vehicles aren’t plain clothes Deputies? I don’t think you do. Best to call 911 like ECSO suggests. Good advice!

I see blue lights all the time on vehicles. They are not allowed. Enforcement needs to be stepped up, and the fines need to be stiffened. The is no reason for non-law enforcement to have them.
