Current Florida Law
1st time - 2nd degree misdemeanor. Max 60 days and $500
2nd time - 1st degree misdemeanor. Max 1 year and $1000.
3rd and subsequent - 1 degree misdemeanor. Same Max. Mandatory 10 days jail.

The issue is the judges keep issuing fines with no jail time. By the second one, they should have to serve 60 days. By the third one, at least 6 months. By the 4th one, it should be a felony with 2 year minimum sentence.

We all know he's back behind the wheel. With a documented history of ignoring or flouting laws it's just a matter of time before he does it again. And again. Maybe next time he flees and runs an intersection at high speed with lights off he'll seriously injure or kill someone. Maybe then we'll take this stuff seriously.
