A small “donation” from those attending the prior year would not be too much to ask. Advertise for donations, secure business donations, or find a less expensive venue. I mean, they have had an entire year. I hope they get things sorted out …

Century’s rules do lot let an organization charge admission without town council approval. The intent behind the rule was well meant — people would rent the buildings, hire a DJ and throw a big, often somewhat “wild”, party and charge admission to make money. Drugs, alcohol with underage kids around, and noise were perceived problems.

@ Fred……That is a marvelous idea. Any organization should have a bidget to host an event. Another option would be a charge for attending, a fundraiser or charging those who eat for the meal.
