There are less State Troopers on the roads in Escambia than ever before. There is very little time for them to actually work traffic enforcement. This is why excessive speeding and reckless driving is more prevalent than ever before. Just look at all the vehicles with high bumpers, squatted vehicles and dark limo window tint on their front windshields….. all illegal and unnoticed. In twenty years the registered vehicles in Florida has nearly doubled yet the number of State Troopers patrolling the Pensacola district has actually declined significantly.

I hear the complaints about speeding, but this accident along with the last three on 97 resulted from people being unable to stay in their lane of travel. No limit on speed will eliminate horrible collisions when you end up in the opposing lane of travel.

I live in 95 North and the people that gun they’re cars, trucks and motorcycles at higher speed than posted and yes, even at the speeds of 100. I’ve witness it, as they fly by me either driving or on the main road around Highland Baptist Church. I’m sorry for the loss and he is facing life in prison without parole. Cause people who speed and do stupid things, break the laws. And speeding over the posted limit is STUPID!!

Never mind speed limits. On Hwy 29 past Cantonment most cars go at least 80 mph – some 100!
