I would think the home coming show would generate a lot of revenue for our area. I am not sure about it because I realize it also costs a lot to put on such a big show. But with the vendors and how many people come out, it seems like it would. Any time the government shuts down and takes away other people’s means of receiving their pay, every single government official should lose their checks as well. Not that it will hurt them, especially as bad as it hurts the common person, but it still should be an automatic! Our government does not care about the people. It’s sickening.

The only way to fix this ridiculous situation is to vote ALL the incumbents out in the next election, no matter what party they belong to. We need completely new blood in Congress that may be more willing to compromise and not make “re-election” their major, number one focus instead of the needs of the common people.

It’s disappointing to see the Blue Angels air show canceled because of a government shutdown that never should have happened. The truth is, both sides in Washington share the blame. Too many politicians would rather let their supporters demonize the other side than work toward real compromise. That kind of division may keep them in power, but it hurts the rest of us. We can’t keep letting petty politics take away the things that bring us together as a country.

We cannot get the deficit under control unless there are reductions in expenditures.

Unfortunately, The Blues are 9 parts entertainment, 1 part recruitment if we are honest with ourselves.

The federal government cannot truly afford to do this multiple times in Pensacola (especially when we consider that practices also occur here very frequently throughout the year).

This is ridiculous but I expected this to happen. Republicans have voted over and over again to fund the government with a clean CR (not asking for anything new that Dems didnt already approve under Biden) but don’t have enough of a majority to pass it without democrat votes while democrats want to keep holding the US economy hostage until they get to spend more money all over the world on non-Americans. I read the democrats crazy spending proposal myself. Its despicable.
